@@Bmbach In Arks of Omen it's free to put units in reserves actually. Still not a great idea however, since if a model is wider than 6" it pretty much can't do anything on the turn it arrives. 👀
You CAN hide the Stompa in the bushes using the warlord trait "I've got a plan, Ladz!" It allows you to redeploy a blood axes unit (any unit) into strategic reserves! "At the end of the Deploy Armies step, select up to three BLOOD AXES units from your army and redeploy them. The Distraction Stompa talk of a "Baneblade in the bushes"... Back in the day, Snikrot _could_ Infiltrate ANY UNIT, I believe. So yeah, there was potential to just suddenly have a Stompa show up behind enemy lines.
I already wanted to get blood axes but this list gave me an idea. The gimmick for my Boyz is that they are ‘masters of disguise’ which means they wear space marine helmets like hats. Now I have an idea to paint a stompa with the ultramarines color scheme and symbols.
You could also do a shooty blood axe army that have mass psychosis and believe they are an imperial guard regiment and worship the emperor as a mighty war God.
The timing of this episode is frightening. I recently moved to a new place and my new roommate just gave me 40 ork boyz he didn't want. I've been thinking about getting into 40k with 10th coming up too. Thanks for the fire episode!
That last army idea I did a bit different, I did heavy attack. Squigoths carrying tank bustas, and 2 battle wagons each carrying 20 boys with shootas, those squigoths with tankbustas shooting into a vehicle after moving still hits on 4’s, and it’s 10d3 shots, even better, when you are in engagement range with the squigoth those tank bustas still shoot out of engagement
A guy at my locals came first with a necron parking lot list that ran 3 LoW tombs... legit won bc he just had too many wounds on board for anyone to deal with
I almost exclusively run shooting lists for the Bad Moons. My current project is figuring out a mildly functional gretchin list. As you can imagine, I don't win many games.
I love this so much! It’s great to see ork lists focused on fun instead of raw power. That’s how I play, and people are constantly surprised at how good units perform that are far from meta. Distraction stompa for the win! 🎉😂

Your artillery is the Mek Gunz, your tanks are grot tanks (and the mega) and the kans, and your cannon fodder is the gretchin. HQ has to be Makari, who has a 2+ invul save and can kinda keep your grots in line. All of them converted to be in WW2 german outfits (due to blitzkrieg theme here). The Spess Mehreens: Orks cosplaying as Space Marines. Nobz and Flash Gitz as the main troops, converted to look like they're trying to be space marines (using the 'Ard boyz models). Nobz will be armed with Kombi Skorchas. Basically the Nobz are your flamer marines while the Flash Gitz are your bolter marines. Throw in a Deff Dread and a Warboss in Mega Armor (terminator) and you got your "SPESS MEHREES". Currently my friends are split on whether this should be painted Blood Ravens or Salamanders.
I did something like your first one. 2 scratchbuilt mega tanks, a pile of grot tanks, the old "big gunz" but built as artillery tanks, and so forth. I really should keep working on that list. It was loads of fun in 8th, even if it never won a game
fun little fact, Markari's FNP banner ability goes to Ork models within range, meaning the Stompa does receive that 6+ FNP, this stupid little combo led me to running a Stompa, Ghaz/Markari, 2 kill rigs and a warboss on warbike into a RTT which some major players in the Midwest and still went 2 and 1. Stompa is dumb but hitting a knight in melee for 54 damage is difficult to argue with. (the Ramming speed stratagem giving the Stompa a 3d6 charge really makes it surprisingly quick for getting into a melee fight). Though it did explode in the one game I lost in my line, 3d6" for d6 mortals certainly doesn't help your chances to win turn 1 against Tau...

My 9th edition list, prior to the Aircraft nerf was 9 Deff Dreads, 1 Morkanaut with KFF, 1 unit of 6 Killa Kans, 2 Wazboom Blasta Jets, 1 Warboss on a Squig, I took down every single meta list you can think of. Tau? NP. Termies with 4++ invluns, can't be wounded on 1-3, Daemons, Knights, you name it, that list wrecked it.
the distraction stompa/kommando ork list is the most fun list Ive ever heard of. now I wish I had orks and could play something like that... oh well, here I go spending like 1500 euros again
I’m feeling the blood axe list, but with one alteration. Instead of the stompa and Ghaz being your distraction point a big mek with a absolute ton of killa kanz. Kanz are the kind of unit people either assume are an absolute joke and then end up very unpleasantly surprised when they shoot decently and hack stuff up in melee or they over focus on them while the Mek keeps them going just long enough for the kommandos and storm boys to do their jobs.
Commando stompa is what I'm hearing. Also that Daaka list is actually kinda relatively decent I'd say only for the fact of how many times you're just shooting and if you focus key targets I mean that's really good if you wanna play the speed game🤣
Dakka lists work (or used to before 9th... don't wanna play 9th) ! I've run them, and you have to roleplay them :) Make your enemy think you're stupid / ork. And they will forget about all the objectives you get.... The advantage of the shootas is that you're still doing damage even if you cannot charge. And the number of shots just tends to add up. Just running them over the board while the rest distracts, suddenly you had orks in your face, with just one attack less (but 3 more before the charge - it ends up mathematically the same except... you get more tactical flexibility) .
Krieg cavalry force: regimental doctrine: recon operators and swift as the wind. force orginization slot:Death rider command squad. Hq:lord solar, marshal karis death rider squadron commander. Troop:3xdeath korps. Elites: 3x death rider command squads and one death rider commissar. Fast attack 3×10 man attilan rough rider squads. Flyer:thunderbolt. Transports: 3 storm chimeras let them feel the thunder of hooves
Have you considered running Nobz as an elite-focused green tide? Maybe Trukks and/or a Weirdboy with Da Jump to fling them around there board would be the most efficient way of running this list? I’d suggest the Chinork Warkopta but that got Legends’ed.
Before they cap detachments I had a speedwaaagh list with 54 bikes, 27 nob bikes + 27 warbikes + some other stuff, 700 shots in turn one if i recall correctly
I want to believe that GW one day will remember that 40k is a satire game and will make Gretchin Revolution Committee into a proper faction (since having them with orks seems kind of excessive to me, plus we have tons of armies for SM and xenos need some of that too)
honestly i feel all GW would have to do is bring back a couple of the old tools orks had such as canons, mortars, HMG nests, scrap shotguns, and above all else the "looted vehicle" rules. if you made an ACTUAL Grot Guard? with looted IG vehicles and Grots lead by Nobissars? oh yeah that's be fun
@@meganobgutzkraka2398 grot guard isn’t something I was looking for but more along the way of Gllomspite Gitz masquerading as revolutionists. And you can give them all the non orky cannons and artillery add some independent grots and a sprinkle of AoS gitz weirdness and you have an army that can have all the crazy design ideas that are too out there for orks or wahammer in general while still being in line with everything else
My god, you CAN run 27 warbikes! I currently have a troop-heavy Deathskulls/Beast Snagga army, but i think i'm gonna grab the warbikes instead of the squighog boyz next!
I'm playing the Greentide list when i simply wanna have some real fun. And when i play greentide, i usually give them 9 Killakans with Bigmek as frontline cover and Kommandoz or Stormboyz as flankers. But i can play other lists too when i desire like Waaghbike spam with Nob spam. And i play Orks since 2. Edition.
I ran a kill tank with the giga shoota in a recent game as my distraction unit which is only 275 currently and that kept aloy of stuff busy for a few good rounds before it exploded
I want to make a looted leman russ to make a grot megatank. Remove the front of the turret and toss together a new one out of plasticard and green stuff or 3d printed with both twin big shootas in there inspired by the wirblewind or ZSU-23-4 irl SPAAGs but shittier, have big shootas sticking out of the sponsons and hull bolter slots, and then have the shoota pintle mounted on the turret and have a grot in a comisar hat with a choppa sticking out the top in the classic "drive me closer i want to hit them with my sword! Pose". Add the dozer blade to imitate the plow on the front of the grot mega tank, and send her into battle as "Lemon rush" the grot mega tank. I hope i can fit a grot on a little wooden porch on the back with a lemonade stand, hanging off the back bumper, selling lemonade to the boyz following this contraption around.
I feel like the Distraction Stompa really brought out Eric’s inner ork right there. The “this is so stupid that it’s smart” level of Orky kunnin’.

I imagine the way you make snakebites good is you just run a goffs detachment with Ghaz and slap the beast snaggas and rigs in there
I'd love to see you guys try to come up with the different styles for Custodes considering how small our range is.
Babe, wake up. New poorhammer just dropped.
Commando stompa is what I'm hearing. Also that Daaka list is actually kinda relatively decent I'd say only for the fact of how many times you're just shooting and if you focus key targets I mean that's really good if you wanna play the speed game🤣
My store is doing a boarding actions tourney right now. My list is a warboss and 50 boyz. Its going great, lol.
The Codex Orksarties supports these lists.
And yes I used to run a lot of Nob nikers back then. And I got like 40 warbikes that I could put down, so maybe I should try that list... :P
Krieg cavalry force: regimental doctrine: recon operators and swift as the wind. force orginization slot:Death rider command squad. Hq:lord solar, marshal karis death rider squadron commander. Troop:3xdeath korps. Elites: 3x death rider command squads and one death rider commissar. Fast attack 3×10 man attilan rough rider squads. Flyer:thunderbolt. Transports: 3 storm chimeras let them feel the thunder of hooves
Great new series. More please.
My plan is like that kommandos tactic, but with squigboys as "distraction"
You have to make a fake tree for the Stompa model to hide behind. Give it a camo paint job and it'll be glorious.
It's the peek-a-boo stompa.
I can't wait for the warhammer 40k cinematic universe civil war between poorhammer, adric, and adeptus podcastus
What about the good ol’ green tide Goff strategy?
@6:10. Grots in 5th could have "Feel no Pain". SUPER Grots. :)
This was everything I want
Have you considered running Nobz as an elite-focused green tide? Maybe Trukks and/or a Weirdboy with Da Jump to fling them around there board would be the most efficient way of running this list? I’d suggest the Chinork Warkopta but that got Legends’ed.
Before they cap detachments I had a speedwaaagh list with 54 bikes, 27 nob bikes + 27 warbikes + some other stuff, 700 shots in turn one if i recall correctly
You take Zogrod with your melee hero to back him up. Take down demons and monsters
I want to believe that GW one day will remember that 40k is a satire game and will make Gretchin Revolution Committee into a proper faction (since having them with orks seems kind of excessive to me, plus we have tons of armies for SM and xenos need some of that too)
If you read the recent novel Warboss, that may just be around the corner
The two silly things I want to return to the game are mass Gretchen, and mass Cultists. Humans vs Goblins LETS GOO!
Even having them as any army of renown, with special rules like speed freeks would be cool!
honestly i feel all GW would have to do is bring back a couple of the old tools orks had such as canons, mortars, HMG nests, scrap shotguns, and above all else the "looted vehicle" rules.
if you made an ACTUAL Grot Guard? with looted IG vehicles and Grots lead by Nobissars? oh yeah that's be fun
@@meganobgutzkraka2398 grot guard isn’t something I was looking for but more along the way of Gllomspite Gitz masquerading as revolutionists. And you can give them all the non orky cannons and artillery add some independent grots and a sprinkle of AoS gitz weirdness and you have an army that can have all the crazy design ideas that are too out there for orks or wahammer in general while still being in line with everything else
have a gragantuan squiggoth instead of a hunta rig and a squiggog rider, plus have ghanzghkull and kommandos instead of the gretchin, loving it so far
Just finished The Infinite and the Divine!
My god, you CAN run 27 warbikes! I currently have a troop-heavy Deathskulls/Beast Snagga army, but i think i'm gonna grab the warbikes instead of the squighog boyz next!
YEAAAAAAAAAH! ORKZ ORKZ ORKZ ORKZ ORKZ ORKZ ORKZ!!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im gunna get into orks as my 2nd army for the fun fluff and light hearted game play nature of them
i want weird boys ad shock attack guns
I know it would take more time, but I kind of want to see them do this but for each sub faction. Maybe just like a way to play for each or something
Edition.
Inspired by list 3 I wanna make a slightly piratey aesthetic version with a working title Kaptin Dakkahed and the Boomthump Boyz
I ran a kill tank with the giga shoota in a recent game as my distraction unit which is only 275 currently and that kept aloy of stuff busy for a few good rounds before it exploded
I actually won a RTT with Bad Moons. I used tankbustas and flash Gitz in squiggoths
SHOOTAH BOYS REPRESENT!!!!!!!
This video is amazing. Laughing so hard!
Should have taken 2 Nob Biker squads and a nother warboss on bike in the Dakka List.
drop dread flashgitz and grot tank
Great video
