Worked for me! If you don’t have an LED tester a Milwaukee 12v battery will work in a pinch, just need some short wire scraps to connect it up to the LED strip.
That will work, but I would definitely check the working voltage of the LED strip... because some of them work at a much less voltage. The light tester works famously because it only doles out what the light require without over voltaging them and possibly blowing a good light strip.
Same problem with my Sharp TV and this video helped me fix it. Thank you so much! I got the LEDs off of EBay and the LED tester off Amazon. All in it cost me about $40. I didn’t use suction cups on the screen but got help from my son to keep it steady and it turned out fine. Now I’m just hoping that it doesn’t happen to another strip of LEDs elsewhere in the group of 10.

Yes... long, but I hate when someone wants to give you the answer to fix the issue and then just gives you the "It needed this" answer. There are sooooo many amongst us that really don't know the subtleties of doing this type of repair and I like to try to coax them through it.
We got our TV a few years ago for Christmas but only used it a handful of times before we moved . Now, with an actual livable living room, we started to use it. Today, the screen dimmed on one side, and it shuts off and turns on every couple of seconds. I'm going to try this. What have I got to lose, right? Thank you so much for the pep talk at the end because I was feeling so overwhelmed before that.
Thanks. I fixed 3 tvs of same model with your help. my first one i placed on floor and tried to remove the bezel all went fine but at the end lcd was bleeding internally. Next 2 i kept it on a table and removed the bezel without much pressure on the panel. Turned out to be great working tv again.

Good question! You have them all... but should you change them all... I guess it comes down to a roll of the dice. Are more going to go? Are one of the new ones going to go? In the end, you will still be taking the TV apart each time. I, myself, would probably just do the one. It's a coin flip, right?

And then put it back together!

Hi, it's a great video and the explanations are wonderful. I have the same problem with my Sharp TV LC-50N7004U but before I go further with the desassemblage I disconnected the LED strip from the motherboard and the TV did the same thing it went off with protection mode ... the screen is black but I can tell according to the power red light. Is this confirming that the LED strip is the problem or should I check something else? thanks in advance
Theoretically, it sounds like you have made the correct assumption. If you turn your tv on and it shows the logo for a second and then shuts off, it is usually caused by a failed led or strip. Unplugging all the lights does the same thing except there is no backlight to show the logo.

I'm sure this will fix it. All the motherboard/power supplies seem to have a failsafe mode on them when they don't see the proper LED resistance when tested on startup.
Hi can u tell me how to disconnect those plugs where the led lcd lights plug in it’s connected to those red wires there so tiny I have the same tv 65 inch sharp n I’m having the same exact problem the sharp logo comes on n shuts back off but the left side of the tv is dark than other right side so can u get back to me please I don’t have that charger u have to test the lights so I’m ordered the 12 strips lights. I have the Sharp LC-65LE645U 65" TV. I can turn it on (via remote or backside of TV), "Sharp" logo displays continuously. No functions work; I must unplug TV to stop frozen logo display. I downloaded a firmware version to a FAT32 formated USB drive but I can't get beyond the Logo screen to try to refresh the firmware. I've tried unplugged for 10+ minutes, and various combinations of button presses whilst powering on.... still no joy. 😢 Any advice...? Thank you
Thanks for this very detailed video! I'm about to embark on my own attempt once the replacement strips arrive. How did you navigate esd risk with this repair? I've been trying to research since I k ow that can be an issue with disassembling tvs, but haven't found much.
Thank you for the feedback! As for the Electro Static Discharge, I find if you aren't shuffling your sock covered feet on a carpet in a dry climate, I really haven't had to deal with static. If you are working on a lino/tile/laminate floor, you should be fine. If you wanted to be really safe, just touch your significant other first to discharge yourself or even the screw that holds the cover plate on any light switch or outlet. They are grounded.
My dumbass had the same issue. I replaced all the led strips. I turn it on and you can tell it works. But I happened to damage the screen when I took it off. Now it’s fucked. I didn’t use the suction cups but I did use two people and idk how it happened as we were very careful and it never bent.
Eh, Shit. Yeah... the unfortunate thing about these LCD screens is it doesn't take much to "F" them up. That's why I use the suction cups. Position them good and it lifts the screen off nice and evenly. Sorry for your loss!
What happens if u rip that white screen glued to the leds i followed every step it went great until then now my papers ripped and im ready to throw the tv in the trash
Shouldn't be a biggie! I would just lay the white screen back in and put it back together. All the white screen does is diffuse the light. It really shouldn't affect the TV viewing. Try it! I would even just not put it fully together and try it first, see what it looks like. I put creases in mine and it was all fine!

The driver board is very easy to change. It is under a cover on the back of the TV. There are (I believe) 3 boards back there, the biggest being the power board. But make sure it isn't just the LED's. A bad LED will present as a bad driverboard.
I just went with the number of LED Strips that were dead on mine. It is totally up to you. Because if you just replace just the dead ones, you are now versed on replacing them, so if others die... you are good to go!

It is completely up to you as to how many strips you want to replace... I just did the one to get it back up and running. When I ordered my strips, the set came with two, so I had a "spare" if it ever happened again. So far, it is running fine!

The adhesive strips under the reflector sheet are such a big "F you" to tv repair diyers. Like yes you can fix your tv but your backlight is gonna look all wonky now because of how you have to manupulate it to get it off
I never had an issue. The reflector sheet didn't have an creases in it and it didn't reflect any damage to the brightness or overall flow of light under the LCD. I think the biggest issue is making sure you don't heavily crease that plastic sheet.
@@QuadsMode9 Across the top of that connector (IF it is the same make/model of TV) there is what looks like a black strip. you just hook your fingernail (or a thin screwdriver) under the edge of the thin black strip (bar) and flip it up. Now, you will be prying it up after inserting your fingernail from the top of the tv down towards the bottom.
I’m in the middle of fixing my 65” right now. Without this video I would have thought it junk. 25$ for all new led’s. Thank you very much. Cheers

The driver board is very easy to change. It is under a cover on the back of the TV. There are (I believe) 3 boards back there, the biggest being the power board. But make sure it isn't just the LED's. A bad LED will present as a bad driverboard.
