    I don’t know if you want this tip on steak, but if you reverse sear a steak you can get it as done as you want while it still being juicy and somewhat less chewy. You just bake it at 250 for about 50 minutes or until it reaches your desired temperature with a meat thermometer, and Then sear it on a cast iron pan until the desired sear has been achieved on both sides of the steak, to give the outside a nice char. Cooking it first in the oven on a metal tray keeps all the juices in while getting it fully done, and then it gets nicely finished in the pan. I like char taste too, but I don’t like my steaks as done so I do this method but have it in the over for a shorter time.
    I was a culinary student but I didn’t learn this in culinary school, I learned this afterwards from online blogs about steak because it’s my favorite food!

Weight has been an issue so currently trying to modify those old to e comfort foods into more modern healthy meals. Deviled eggs were always every gathering, so I'm thinking of a substitute dressing to mix in. Currently I use mayo, mustard , relish and a sprinkle of paprika. Any ideas?

    Did yours have a chime to let you know the eggs are done? I haven't heard a chime on ours yet even though Ive read that it should chime. Cooked eggs twice and followed the instructions and after about 15 min, it started to smell. Burning. Pulled the eggs and brown residue was showing on the hot plate. Eggs were done to perfection.

Now I'm gonna have to make some eggs to find out...LOL...I should remember, but, I've gotten so many of the mini makers and have been filming so many videos of them that I can't remember. I'm sorry...

      I’ve only used mine once and I cooked hard boiled eggs. Supposedly, based on the amount of water put in using the little measuring cup and what kind of eggs you are looking for, the machine is supposed to make a noise in 14 minutes.
      I set an alarm on my phone to see if it was accurate and it was pretty close. The machine did beep about 15 seconds shy of my alarm, but the eggs turned out awesome.
      Hope that helps answer some of your questions!

    So I just got this and just tried it, 7 eggs are still cooling after being heated. I wonder if you can answer a question I wasn’t able to answer by looking online.
    it started smelling weird when it was a minute or so into cooking, smelled like maybe the plastic got too hot? And the odor increased and became more gross as time went on. Why would it smell bad when cooking?

    • @erikshappywife
      @erikshappywife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      GREAT QUESTION!!!
      According to Nostalgia, the different cooks can and DO have a weird smell the first few times they are used. In my experience, they also can have this smell after being stored and not used for a while. It should NOT have any affect on the food.
      After a few uses and with regular use, this smell usually goes away pretty much completely.
      I hope that I was able to answer this question for you and I hope that you continue to use and enjoy your cooker.
