Me who was born in 2002: It finally makes sense.
Lmao right
Same here man. I’ve tried playing the game a few times now and I understand that it’s amazing and everything, but I didn’t get to play it whenever it released. Things have changed hugely.
@@Chandler_strickland002 no, It makes sense why i'm so ugly
You don't have to kill the lighthouse attendant for the potions 🥲🥲🥲
im racist towards the Dunmer
@@SomeOrdinaryJoe understandable, have a great day ✌🏽
@@SomeOrdinaryJoe U wat n'wah?!
I get goosebumps from the soundtrack
Morrowind is simultaneously a very ugly & very beautiful game. I think it’s a little uncanny-valley-ish. When I first got this game at 10y/o I was so scared of the graphics I didn’t seriously start playing until a year later when my dad helped me get the skull from the ancestral tomb for that necromantic she-orc at the mages guild lol. For some reason, him walking me through that one tiny dungeon gave me the courage to defeat the devil, Dagoth Ur.
I remember playing Morrowind as a pre-teen on my Xbox 360, i didn't know what I was doing and im not even sure if i enjoyed the game 😭
I've since came around on it, and yeah the grafix are really...crunchy?
Somehow the characters in this game are less ugly than the ones in Oblivion.
They have charm in an ugly but grounded way? Idk they feel somehow authentic

Morrowind is one of the best games of all time man. Big ups for the video 👍
The opening music immediately takes me. So good man.
Bro was standing about 10 feet from the Mentor's Ring and had no idea.
Yeah it's decent if you are doing a mage build. You can get better enchants on your own stuff later on but as a starting item it's not bad. You also get a leveled chest in that dungeon as well. The key is in the same container as the ring. You have a good possibility to get some decent stuff.
For a challenge, make a fortify health potion with a long duration and see how far you can go. Fortify health potions can act like a death count that you can't avoid.
Literally just graduated from UNC and there's references to it in this old game? Got me even more motivated to play it again lol
Bruh, This was the first RPG I bought for OG Xbox. I never knew there was a best attack option 💀
So many memories; This doesn't hand hold.
0:51 that line is hilarious. New viewer and this is the first thing I hear😊 good stuff
Would love to see an entire playthrough!
This is legendary. Subbed!
Bethesda really needs to do the world a solid and let another company remake morrowind so Bethesda can’t ruin it and we can have this game with fresh looks.
Fans have remade the Morrowind engine called Openmw, and fans are remaking Morrowind in Skyrim engine. There are plenty of options to choose from.
@@deanreaver3268 u for got morbilvion, morrowind in oblivion engine
It already has fresh looks! m.th-cam.com/video/_EjNEkTWm1I/w-d-xo.html
@@deanreaver3268OpenMW just ports the assets from the original Morrowind into an engine that can handle 16:9 and better mods. It isn't a "remake" in any sense of the word, it's just an engine port.
Skywind is still just Skyrim at heart as well. Which means that the mechanics of Morrowind will not be present. The magic system of Morrowind dwarfs the hell out of Oblivion and Skyrim.
Having the game ACTUALLY updated with full voice-acting, better animations, models and upgraded technologies like ray tracing, etc. would be preferable. RTX Remix is a step in the right direction for a true "remaster" via massive modding but even so, it's still running 23 year old assets and it is limited by some of the technology of the time.
I pray this game is never touched by corporate hands again. It's as close to narrative perfection as there is. Old and crusty, sure, but it's no more than a heavy patina on a fine, old piece of art.
Been playing TES3MP on OpenMW with friends n it's super cool. rly cool vidya bro
i was this 🤏 close to downloading OpenMW for this video. I didn't and now i regret it bc the video isn't in widescreen.
Michael Kirkbride
Hey man, great video. Very entertaining!
❤️
The year doesn't matter - it's a timeless masterpiece.
My favorite build is anything with luck as a focus, making it start at 50, then spend the first 25 levels doing a 5/5/1 approach, putting a point into luck every level up.
When you get to 75 luck the game becomes a Benny Hill skit. It's hilarious. One of my favorite things to do. Period. Not even just in video games 😂
I thought dude dropped boots, not scrolls. Never knew about the axe and farquad snooping around at night.
I never knew about the warehouse key and I'm 40
Yo, you can do the same limeware platter trick with the warehouse key
It was the first Todd Howard game after the zenimax purchase. Michael Kirkbride saved this franchise. Todd Howard is a hack, new Vegas is the best game of the era then Skyrim then oblivion then f3 then f4
And New Vegas wasn't made by Bethesda. It was made by Obsidian with a lot of the old dev team that made Fallour 1&2.
Your class actually looks pretty fun. Stick with it! I gotta finish watching the video now. morrowind will never die!
Deus EX does lockpicking like that too. Holy shit, that was before Morrowind?!?!!!?
Thank you so much 👍 love morrowind
better than every other elder scrolls because characters call you the n word
Joesph.

more-rowind, please!
I demand more Morrowind
More Morrowind never hurt anybody.
Just got an potato end pc amd i am thinking of playing Morrowind as my first ever pc gane 😅
definitley a good one
@@SomeOrdinaryJoe where can I get this game for free. And any other website to download free games can U tell ?
Bruh always use best attack is a must in Morrowind. You have to be next level purist to demand someone actually use the default attacking type that's bound to movement. That's just insanity.
Hey, i find it fun and engaging. But yeah, i'd never try to force someone to do it, that'd be a crazy level of morrowboomery
you dont need to put back the platter
you can just keep it no problm
MORE MOREWIND
Whats funny is at the begginingg your like people dont walk like that he has a metal spine. Lol i walk like that because i broke my back in real life and have titanium bars in my back
real life morrowind character?
Im down
Sorry to comment twice, hopefully it helps the channel or something. The bit about water textures was satire right?
I am being 100% serious about the water textures, i like how shiny they are.
@@SomeOrdinaryJoe thanks for replying so quickly. Not that I was impatient but i always appreciate uploader response. I'm really not that well versed in rendering water so I'm glad to get extra perspective
Morrowind is 3d fallout in a manner of speaking.
Technically, Morrowind is 3D Daggerfall. Daggerfall was pretty much exactly like Morrowind, just bound by 2D sprites when it came out in 1996. Fallout didn't come out until 1997.

First comment.
Shitty gameplay aside, how was it? Compared to skyrim or standards in 2024? What does this game do well that others don't? I don't know man watching this video devolve into a lets play isn't all that useful.
Most people who have played Morrowind attest to its worldbuilding, exploration, magic system, and absolute freedom.
For example, when you talk with NPCs, you can ask them questions about people, places, and things you have heard about. If they choose to answer you, they will help you learn more about the world and complete quests. The faction system is very detailed as well. The game also doesn't level scale, but that means you just have to be aware that running away sometimes is necessary, and that's ok because it encourages preparation and education for travel. Also, when you get stronger the ceiling is actually limitless. Like, create a spell that lets you levitate across the map, why not?
What it doesn't do well: combat is its weakest part. It can be buggy and clunky. Many Static NPCs, but the environment still helps with making it feel lived in. Music isn't ambient (calm vs. Fight).
Gameplay is fine, it is basically a classic RPG (think Fallout) but in 3D and in-real time
@@benharder7816 Interesting, in a nutshell would you describe morrowind as a harder and less casual version of skyrim then? As a skybaby I have very little to relate a game like morrowind to.
Also with the modding scene being pretty intense do you use mods that fix the combat issue you were talking about?
@evil1143 Morrowind is much more hardcore. No handholding, no quest markers. The modding scene is 20 years in the making, it is very thorough.
@@benharder7816 👍
Dude… the slow motion in the start is on purpose. Smh. Pass….
