I think it's not for the process of BTS they used the fragments from the past which is there debut to connect here in the present. They did not planed this. They just came up with the ideas to kind of make it bigger when BTS is going bigger as well

But of course they follow him, not trying to overcome him or take over control. **I think part of this is because he’s close to his shadow, it’s not far away. It’s not trying to control him, because he is not trying to control (force) it. Keeping the shadow close means that it is less nebulous and has defined edges/borders. Kinda “know thine enemy” approach. However boundaries and awareness of them is essential for relationships - with the shadow, ego, etc. as well as with others. Again a part of the person that needs to be defined/developed before relating to others. Also, while he is on a stage like SUGA, he’s viewed at ground level. He hasn’t climbed so high to fall, he doesn’t have shadows underneath to drag him under into the Sea. I think he’s at that camera level the entire time until the end which you could argue he IS still like that, but he is on top of a car, so... Just a couple thoughts to add. ONE MORE THEORY! to me, the "we are now going to progress [...]" part is SO interesting because it first appear on their debut trailer, right? so the "difficult part" was the unknown ahead of them. were they gonna succeed? were they gonna fail? so now (2020), the same part can be interpreted as some kind of warning for us, army, as they prepare for break/military service because is gonna be difficult but we'll manage to get through it. and since Ego is an Outro for the album, this is most likely the last song of the last album before break (my guess, of course). so it's kinda like "we're approaching the inevitable, it's going to be hard, but it's going to be okay too. don't worry!". so, to me it sounded like mix between a farewell (for now), a hidden message for us and a full circle moment in their careers because they did succeed, they did not fail. if you really think about it, this song has such a positive message behind it, an amazing vibe to it and all these references in the music video, that it ends up being the PERFECT song to close the map of the soul era and set up the next one (where we're a bit more grown up, self-aware, embracing light and dark, continuously learning/evolving and having more of a positive attitude towards life).

about 1:24 i think the 1 and 24 are supposed to be seen separately: 1 meaning: if 1 is your angel number, it means that you are a workaholic person, so your satisfaction comes mostly from your work. 24 meaning: the number 24 symbolises home, health, healing, security, love, beauty, comfort, relationships, teamwork, romance, diplomacy, harmony, family and companionship. so it could mean he's moved from being a uncaring workaholic to going on to heal, love, feel secure, appreciate beauty, home, comfort, teamwork (bts?), family and companionship.

Just wondered what you thought of why, when the whole song has been upbeat & bright, when Hobi's sitting on the car he's suddenly very serious and his face is half in shadow & half in light? Does that mean despite the lyrics, his journey to self isn't over? I'm also expecting MOTS: Self before Jin goes, but maybe that's wishful thinking? *it must have been full of regret with no hope till I die* I'm thinking what if this j-hope is taking over Jung Hoseok and speaking for him in a way, so when he's reminiscing J-hope takes over and speaks for him

you ear a female voice in persona similar to the one in ego but instead of at the beginning it's at the end.
close at the end, the room he walked into with the glowy things turned green like in idol.

Hi Rosean, I always love your explanation vids - only been Army since last summer, so have really relied on them to try & get up to speed on the BU! (I haven't watched any TXT vids yet tho - aargh!) Just wondered what you thought of why, when the whole song has been upbeat & bright, when Hobi's sitting on the car he's suddenly very serious and his face is half in shadow & half in light? Does that mean despite the lyrics, his journey to self isn't over? I'm also expecting MOTS: Self before Jin goes, but maybe that's wishful thinking? Looking forward to your next one when the lead single & Come Prima film drops!! (or will there be clues in the concept photos next week?!) x
