This is just an interpretation, but this could possibly mean as you grow more famous, more recognised, so does your character and what you think of yourself. You could either potentially become completely self-absorbed, or remain humble and down to earth. This kind of reminds me of Shadow and Ego, with their connection. One is afraid to go on further with all of the fame wanting to become hidden, like a Shadow, whereas the other is practically living for it, it feeds the Ego. The two both contrast in several ways, but compliment each other and is realistic at the same time. Thank you Bighit and Bangtan for always staying true, and telling stories in your music.
Because of the “Persona” they made out of themselves, they forgot who they really were and lost the passion inside them, which leads them to their “Shadow” that pulls them back to the inner world, back to the reality of who they really are. Now in “Ego”, they succeeded on finding and identifying themselves as said in the lyrics “Life not of J-hope but Jeong Ho-seok's flashes by” “Only one hope only one soul, only one smile only one you” and so on. I like how Hoseok expresses himself in his music. He's lyrically candid and transparent, embracing his journey and establishing his goals and beliefs as an artist and a person. Interestingly, this expression is almost always upbeat and innovative, which is why I truly believe him to be "embracing" the darker thoughts and stages of his life, as well as encouraging viewers and listeners to truly _dig deeper_ than the happy tune and discover _him._ He _understands_ the music that he's making. He _understands_ the psychological and morale impact of music and uses his platform to convey his honesty and integrity and to encourage genuine progression. I love Jung Hoseok as a person and artist, and it's always amazing to see how his company and his team enable him as both. I'll definitely be watching this one a few times (just did twice) to truly take it all in. It's really so fun and intricate, as though you'll never run out of things to discover!

Ego: A person's sense of self-esteem or self-importance.
This is just an interpretation, but this could possibly mean as you grow more famous, more recognised, so does your character and what you think of yourself. You could either potentially become completely self-absorbed, or remain humble and down to earth. This kind of reminds me of Shadow and Ego, with their connection. One is afraid to go on further with all of the fame wanting to become hidden, like a Shadow, whereas the other is practically living for it, it feeds the Ego.
The two both contrast in several ways, but compliment each other and is realistic at the same time. Thank you Bighit and Bangtan for always staying true, and telling stories in your music.

Because of the “Persona” they made out of themselves, they forgot who they really were and lost the passion inside them, which leads them to their “Shadow” that pulls them back to the inner world, back to the reality of who they really are. Now in “Ego”, they succeeded on finding and identifying themselves as said in the lyrics “Life not of J-hope but Jeong Ho-seok's flashes by” “Only one hope only one soul, only one smile only one you” and so on.
This is all my brain cells could do. Better just wait for other clearer explanations then lol.

I like how Hoseok expresses himself in his music. He's lyrically candid and transparent, embracing his journey and establishing his goals and beliefs as an artist and a person. Interestingly, this expression is almost always upbeat and innovative, which is why I truly believe him to be "embracing" the darker thoughts and stages of his life, as well as encouraging viewers and listeners to truly _dig deeper_ than the happy tune and discover _him._ He _understands_ the music that he's making. He _understands_ the psychological and morale impact of music and uses his platform to convey his honesty and integrity and to encourage genuine progression. I love Jung Hoseok as a person and artist, and it's always amazing to see how his company and his team enable him as both.
