Great professional. Very articulate. Remember him steaming in to bowl. Great ambassador of West Indies. A true legend, Sir Curtly Ambrose. Love and respect from Pakistan.
Thank you, Mrs Ambrose for getting Curtly into cricket. As a youngster watching him against the Australian batting was a nightmare. Such a scarey bowler to even watch, but I loved watching him. I always thought he was a nice man even though he was scarey AF.
Same here. The only England batsmen who came close to standing up to him were Graham Gooch and Robin Smith. Everyone else just looked terrified, even Graeme Hick. Yet even when he was destroying us, I couldn't help but like the guy. I wish West Indies cricket had a bowler like him today.
Curtly would be one of my favourite all time bowlers. And my list of favorites is a good one. In my cricketing lifetime, bowlers I have seen bowl. Lillie,Thomson, Akram,Ambrose,R Hogg, Alderman, Hadlee, Imran, Andy Roberts, M Marshall, A Donald, B Lee, Shohib, McGrath, R Harris, Simon Jones, Flintoff, Gough, Vaas, Fernando, Malinga, Warne, S Afridi, Bumrah, Bond, for the life of me there are a few more whos names alude me, SA guy, just retired lol! Anyway, of that list, Ambrose would be my #2 pick if I was naming a team to play anywhere.....my #1 pick would surprise nearly everyone I think, and thats Richard Hadlee, and Im an Aussie hahahahahahaa.
Thanks much for sharing this video with us, my Favorite bowler, The legend Sir Curly Elconn Lynwall Ambrose, you're are a great man. Big C Congratulations on your achievements in your career as a cricketer. One Love always Brothers Take care of yourself and your family.
What a great interview. Always surprised me how often the West Indies fast bowlers seemed to bowl within themselves. Holding did, Garner, Roberts and now Curtly admitting the same. I saw Marshall live at the G one day get hooked for a boundary. The next bouncer was so fast the entire crowd just went “wholly f…”
A true legend. Love and respect for you Sir Curtly. The batsmen facing you I'm sure must have changed your name in their minds to Sir Cruelty Ambrose...
Watched many of these interviews with legendary cricketers and almost all of them say the late great Malcolm Denzel Marshall as the best bowler they ever faced, great praise indeed.
Love this guy. Even when he was reducing England to a quivering heap on the 94 tour to the West Indies, I was cheering for him. Such a character as well as great fast bowler.

He's some competitor. I remember his batting in 1999 when Lara made 153no. Curtly supported in a low order partnership and when he was dismissed was disappointed big time. Super competitor.
Am from North Manzanilla Trinidad great interview wat he said about Malcolm Marshall is so true personally i still say Marshall was d one bowler who think true his bowling how come our young bowlers doesn't learn from hiim
Curtly is tall, long strides, very athletic, seams beautifully on both sides, sometimes deceives with a slow inswing.A consummate fast bowler and charismatic.
I'd love to visit Antigua one day. It's such a beautiful place from what I've seen, and yet produces such phenomenal and aggressive, almost nasty sports people.
What a bowler! Cricket is not just batsman game , it’s a game between bat and ball . Having said that, I don’t like the cricket lovers who worship a batsman and pay more attention towards them. Here is the man with a ball nobody wants to mess with him in the field. I am 42 years old now , I pronounce his name 1000000 times whenever I talked about cricket. He is a true legend ! There are Australian bowlers but the cricketing world knows how they win games 😂 by sledging. They can’t win a game with true spirit.😅 I really appreciate the modern day Australian players they don’t indulge in sledging because they know that they will get the same if they do it on the field.
West Indies heed to hire Curtly as head coach and head selector. We were doing great when he was involved and becuase of West Indies poirics was let go when we going upwards Shame is Windies cricket board
What a gem of a person this man is
This man is a legend. The Ambrose-Walsh pair is one of the greatest ever.
he was the quintessential fast bowler, dead accurate all time with that pace, bounce and that deathly stare! never sledged or shouted, silent assassin!
One of my cricketing heroes!
Legend....Loved watching him....One of the greats...fearsome sight..Every batsman in world cricket feared that man..God bless him...
What a great bowler he was. One of the best I’ve ever seen.
the best

" Curtley talk to no man " - one of the great cricketing quotes. He let's the ball do the talking.
Curtly is loved in Australia and he always will be,Warnie said after Tendulkar and Lara,Curtly was the best player he played with or against.

Curtley Ambrose is the consummate Gentleman. A fantastic role model for young cricketers.
He was a fantastic bowler. One of my favourites and one of the all time greats of the game

One of the few who genuinely deserve the title of Legend.
Very insightful getting to know the man who caused many a fears among batters
How lucky was I ? To have the legend Curtly as a neighbour for a few months
What a great interview. Always surprised me how often the West Indies fast bowlers seemed to bowl within themselves. Holding did, Garner, Roberts and now Curtly admitting the same. Great interview. Very interesting revelations about Sir Viv & BC Lara.
Ornament of the game, he always was box office here in Oz. We loved seeing him bowl against our boys.

Time to talk was a great book
What a beast !! Love him !!

Absolute legend

He akram and donald my inspirations trying to be a fast bowler.
My..love..ambrose
Legend ✴️
The Giant
The Greatest
he was scary . SCARY
7-1 is something else ❤
Best of all time 🐐 by the way it’s 98 not 89 tests he played
7 for 1 - enough said
Curtly very good bowler west indies cricket.
West Indies heed to hire Curtly as head coach and head selector. We were doing great when he was involved and becuase of West Indies poirics was let go when we going upwards
Shame is Windies cricket board
Marshall ❤❤❤❤❤👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Ambrose has played 98 tests not 89 tests
Who is better.walsh or ambrose
Curtly Ambrose and Dennis Lillee are the 2 best fast bowlers I have ever seen. Jeff Thomson the fastest.
The man who introduced Curtly Ambrose was incorrect in saying that Ambrose played 89 test matches where in reality he has played 98 test matches .
I would have him over Macgrath on my all time test XI !
7-1 for one spell is the reason !
The same Steve Waugh 🤣
ah cmmon curtly u were better than warne. U had almost same star power if not more than warne.
But he was medium fast
Curtly was white. Sorry but there was some talk of him being black. However, he is one of us. Still a legend. But of course a white legend. What else?
Talk about a racist without being a racist.
Because he needed money
Ambrose lost his cool because Waugh got on top of the bowlers, end of.
Lol. Nope
Great bowler
What a legend
