Forgot my passwords on a dual-boot W7-Vista machine I've not used in a few years. It didn't work directly on Vista because the text file wasn't there. I booted to W7 and updated successfully, then I just went to the System32 folder in the Vista folder and did the file hack there, too. I'm thrilled that I was able to change PWs on both!! HP Recovery Manager keeps popping up after the Startup Repair option and has me reboot the computer. I can’t do anything past this step.

Had a problem with using net user * in command prompt as in other videos instructed me. It keep giving me the syntax for this command is... I followed these instructions entering control userpasswords2 in command prompt instead and got access my first try. GENIUS THANK U

Thank you so much...It worked for me... Initially, it was not giving me the dialog box in which we have "view problem details". But restarted the computer and applied the same approach 2 to 3 times. At last, that dialog box appears and solved my problem. Thanks bro..
