Soundqubed hdc4 is more for spl. Sundown zv4 is more for ground pounding. 2 different types of subs. Both are great. Sundown is more like an earthquake and a hurricane at the same time. The soundqubed is more like repeatedly getting punched in the chest by Mike tyson.

DaDonBossMan it's just depends on what you want. You will be happy with any one of those subs. I heard both of them in person. Those soundqubed hit extremely hard and they like high tuned enclosures. The high notes are retarded. The sundowns likes to be tuned low for ground pounding and shaking shit. The sundowns will shake your guts and the soundqubed will give you a migraine. It's just depends on what you want.👍
what are u talking about? these are both spl subs.... just in two completely different price ranges. There is no "ground pounding" category.

I just replaced my hdc4 18's with zv5 18's and put them in the same box for now and the sundowns where more impressive as far as doing hair tricks and what not. They play the highs as well as the lows. But for the $ my soundqubeds where right there with them, they almost moved as much air but not quite. For the $ the soundqubeds where a better buy! When I switch the box i guarantee my opinion will change!

Fun fact... Soundqubed. Formerly known as Audioque, is owned by the son of the man who owns Digital Designs. They are made in the same build house. So, essentially Soundqubed is a budget friendly DD.

The Audiopipe amp is long cause its a beast but mega power hungry not to efficient but a great budget amp for novice and up not newbies cause it needs a external fuse not sure what could happen if you ran without but the manual warns that the amp could damage vehicle electrical. All i know is it rewards you when you give it the juice it craves. Keep my subsonic as 25hz. Ported
I love my Soundqubed subs. Get the HDX3s or 4s. Even Better sound quality than the HDCs. Great subs for loud daily driver vehicles. I like sundown too but i wouldnt trade my HDX3s for anything. Love the way they sound.
The x3's & 4's suck that's why when the hdc series went away most of us long time customers did too

Soundqubed. You can get 2-3 sound qube subs for the price of one sundown and they can take some power
People on the comments seem to forget a subwoofer will play as low as the box it's in. If you put both subs in the exact same box, the sundown will probably play lower below tuning and have louder low notes, but whether that justifies you paying 300 extra dollars for the sub is up to you. Personally I like soundqubed subs in low tunes boxes, that way I can play my lows and still peak high because the subs love high notes
How can you possibly put different subs in the same box and expect accurate results from either or both depending on the specs of the subwoofer? GO AHEAD TAKE YOUR TIME I'LL WAIT
The sundown will get louder. The extra xmax gives it way more displacement

I love those AP 3ks there huge and look so cool, from my understanding they literally are 2 of there 1500w amps strapped in one heatsink thus why its not rated 1 ohm stable even tho it's probably perfectly capable of 1 seems the APCL and E amps will do . 5 ohm no problem I've heard.

I run a ap3000.1d to my two 18 Kove Armageddon U2s got a XS power 7500d up front a US 250 amp should be here this week. The AP is power hungry for sure but it takes abuse well. Gain knob a must though thanks to eBay i got one now. Super cap next:) daily bumper. If i didnt have my Koves id get a nightmare n get low!!
Been reading a lot of comments about subs. So which ones are not made at Shok Industries in China? Look at their videos and see you a lot of very familiar looking subs that everyone will claim is the best. But they are all made by the same company. Amps made at same manufacturing plant in Korea. Same boards but huge price differences.
All sundown products above the SA are made in the USA some parts from China. Soundqubed is 100% China. There is no clone for a Sundown U, Z, NS, or Team. Of course skar ripped off the X but it's still not 100% the same and isn't using PE American made coils
The sound qubed cone and surround looks identical to the NVX VC series. I would put money on that they are from the same supplier.
Listen yall ive had the HDC4 and I've had Sundown Xs and Zv5 ... And truth is they aren't even CLOSE. Sundown is on such a higher level that's its comical that someone could say Soundqubed is a better sub lol i love soundqubed but come guys... this isnt even a valid argument. 2 DIFFERENT worlds. You dont see top tier competion cars running around with soundqubeds .. 75% are running Sundowns.. theres a reason for that.

I know of 6!!! & a hdc4 has more motor then a zv4 & lol definitely the X by a long shot. I competed against a dude with 2 zv5's on a crossfire 8k, i had 2 hdc4's & a sq 7k. I pulled a 154.6 he did a 150.1 those subs good for lows & hair trick not numbers or SPL record breaking
@@leifree9952 Bro I'm at Slamology every year lol I've heard em all and I OWN both brands lol My Jeep has HDC4 15s and my Chevelle has Zv5 15s and if i were to put the same amp on either the Sundown wins by a wide margin. Sundown won world record just this year in a SQ class with the ZV5. 14 of the 30 Domestic top builds at Slam were Sundown builds. Most Soundqubed setups aint even go under 35hz and sound good.

Bro i found a brand new ZV5 for a little under$600 $576 to be exact like i said they are a little pricey but in the end they will not fail u my boy had 2 BADASS 15"soundqubed and they were tight hit hard super loud one day we were all bumping we're about 20 of us chill to demo are little baby systems and all of the sudden we thought he turned it down but nope one of the Subs went to sleep lol and we checked everything amps wires battery's alternator nothin finally check the sub and the voice coil was ripped to shreds and wen he called to let them know wat happened they told him they would have someone get back to him never did so he kept calling i felt bad for him but he didn't want to go SUNDOWN AUDIO and spend a few extra dollars and the funny thing is he only had about 300W over mean while i had 1300W over on each of my SUNDOWN AUDIO'S and i never smelled coil rub or anything and everyone told me to add more power but i said y there's no need to then guess wat happened he sold his other soundqubed and bought the SUNDOWN AUDIO SA SERIES and he is so stoked he said he wish he listened to me from the jump i said it's all good from here if u want u can keep selling the subs u got and keep upgrading OMG im rambling on like a nut im out ✌🏼

Sundown has way more XMAX. Should be louder but I think you should compare 2 subs that are worth the same money to be fair.
Out did a dude with 2 zv5's with 2 hdc4s on a the 7k. For as much money he spentg on that shit I wasn't impressed it was loud bout not impressing for 13 grand

If the motor was the same size ferrite mass wise the Hdc4 motor should have more motor force, a wider motor is always better than taller any day magnet wise obviously there's way more to it but just the magnet slugs wider is way better than taller.
Learn how to recone and you can either one of them for much cheaper
You have any idea what you just said.. that hdc will stomp the sundown hands down in spl numbers with a real amp. Use a sundown saz2500 on either 2 in similar boxes that zv4 is designed to be low not for numbers. That hdc is designed for numbers. Hence height of basket and suround
If you look at dynos the SAZ amps really aren't as good as other brands. They do rated but they don't exceed it like Orion, Twisted Sounds, Deaf Bonce, etc. Also Sundown amps are overpriced in general.

I've had both. The nice thing is with soundqubed is you can beat the living hell out of them.. And if it goes to shit you just buy another one. 250$ woofer and it sounds like you got 3 grand in the back. Can't go wrong with soundqubed.

+tankdog03 orion hcca subs are awesome, you can replace the cone/coil/surround in like 5 mind without glue.. and you can change between different impedance cones whenever u want.. great sounding subs too

I really appreciate the input. How about the NVX VCW true 1000 watt rms 15. I'm really trying to get the best I can with a lower budget. The NVX is the highest price of those 3. Local audio shop put down all three of these brands telling me to go with their $400 massive audio hippo 15. I honestly started to just go with the qpower qp15 super deluxe. At $100 per 15 they are definitely the cheapest route but I'm seeing 50/50 reviews on those.

RAUL GARZA if you have a budget of 250$ start looking for used amps.
Look for something rms rated, 1/0 inputs and something that people constantly leave good reviews on. But it's hard for me to recommend an amp if you aren't adding any extra power.
You'd have to go with something that doesn't put out a ton of power to get the best performance.
I would recommend the new S1-2250 soundqubed amp. $250 bucks and should put about 2200 watts on them at 1ohm. I have the same subs and that’s what I have on mine.

It's not bad to underpower, it's bad to clip them, by trying to max out an amplifier (by turning the gain too high for your subs.)

I meant the zv4 v1 I have but I already build a box shown from sundown website 2.5 net tuned at 34 hz but I feel my zv4 is not hitting g those upper chest bass
Anything tuned in the 30s isn't really going to be great for the zv4, I usually tune around 46 with zv4s

Loudest on the same power, they are about even in the proper box. The zv4 is deeper and kills 28hz. The sq has that 45hz slam.

If wanting to spend less money the soundqubed is highly recommended. But if you have the money to spend the sundown is my choice without a budget.

I'm still editing videos for upload that are the different subs on same amp. Different amps and different boxes. Maybe a box abuse video as well.
The sundown subs are only good for compition. They sound horrible. Like just a bunch of flopping air. I don't know about the soundqubed never heard them. My personal opinion the hole burping thing is retarded. Subs are to play music. Why build a system just to make a 10 second FART! Oops! I mean burp! I want to beat the block down but actually sounding decent while doing it.

Sundown and it's bobo surround. Less cone area and only able to produce the lows properly. I go for the soundqubed any day. There's a reason sundown the only company doing that bullshit soft parts, to look unique and fool people who don't know shit about how a subwoofer works.
