Hey, I usually catch alot of finger mullet and mojarra at my snook spot with my cast net but sometimes they just won’t go for a live bait on the hook...do you think chumming the water would help the bite for snook or is that more to lure in Snapper and other toothy creatures?

The pilchards you catch by the dozens are delicious deep fried. Here in Bali we just score the skin, clean out the guts and fry them head on until even the bones are crispy enough to eat. I guess every ounce of nutrients is lost frying to a crisp like that but they are really tasty and you can even eat the heads. You can tell you've been living with the natives too long when that's considered a bonus.

Get, or make a drift sock it will keep your boat parallel to the wind if you hook it to the bow or stern. Also slows the drift in the wind, sometimes you actually drift into the wind depending on the current or tide.

When he is at the sunken sail boat he is by tavineer creek marina, i pass that boat just about every day and from what it looks like he went towards the gulf side for the back waters
Kava nears a good place to fish at night in a 1 or 2 of those cuts I remember getting some giant size mutton snapper on the out going fishing the Bay side Used some live bait little Jack's I think it was just free line I'm out in that strong current and wham that was 35 years ago though I guess they're still fish down there

I live in FL and I love to fish also. It doesn't always work the way you see it.
All Florida beaches and public access areas and parks are closed. This includes boat ramps. Unless you have your boat in the water there is no fishing just about.

I'm from South Florida Broward County actually but now I'm up here in South Georgia retired dying she would be good get back down there to the keys that is never thought of the idea of kayaking to get around those mangrove that's the trick to getting fish and lobster like you do you can get in those shallows and get up in there to get him I'm tempted to somehow engineer and idea to get back down there find a place to stay rig up and go out and have some fun for a few days Mangrove snapper or mainstay in my opinion for catching and eating Is that a outboard you have attached to your kayak it looks like an outboard motor is it or not

Mullet's an acquired taste. It's usually not for me, personally, but I don't mind it fried every once in a while. I'd say give it a shot. It's definitely better as fresh as possible.

Up here in the panhandle, there's guys who LOVE chasing mullet with a fly rod. (I have a personal aversion to the damn things, myself -flyrods, that is)
Mullet's on the menu up here - both fillets and backbone, breaded and fried (even the crunchy tailfin.)
