If CHIRP doesn't support the K6 yet, I'm sure it will be added. I haven't tried yet. I have Quansheng K6 in a box I've yet to open. From what I understand, the hardware isn't the same. I can't confirm that, though. I hope to do a video on it in the future.
How much better would this be compared to the bf-f8hp and do you mess with their dual band mobile radios? I mostly like to listen in to people in my ears but due to current circumstances I kind of want to get a mobile setup for my truck
It's way more updated, has 999 channels, airband receive, tri band transmit, and USB-C charging to mention a few. Here's a link to a decent Anytone mobile starter radio for 125$ amzn.to/3XWcYSA
Thanks for the video. On sale on Amazon for a limited time deal for $16.79. Picked one up!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching 😃
Now that's a deal! That's even cheaper than Amazon day!
Do you think the BAOFENG UV-25 is an ok radio? Is the one antenna good 2m, 220, and UHF or does it come with a separate 220 mhz antenna?
Thanks for the review. Nice information. Great video, thank you for sharing.
Thank you!
@@W6IWN_Radio you’re welcome
Nice review, think I'll get one
Thanks! 😃
They are 19$ on sale for Amazon Day right now!
@@W6IWN_Radio but do they do too much vs a separate am/fm pocket radio and vhf/uhf baofeng?
@@CrackerFL yes, it's very different.
Nice video Bobby!
@KG6NLWMotoRadio Thanks, Frank!
@KG6NLWMotoRadio Thanks, Frank!
Is there any reason to get the UV-5R now (except CHIRP programming)? How does the 6R compare with the quansheng?

i hope it has colour screen as other new gen BAOFENg
@ruhaidinklate4658 Yes, but different from the UV-21R and UV-25.
The K6 is still not Chirp compatible yet I don't think.

I am looking for more information on this post there. More information on ham radio.
What kind of information?
How can I help you? Are you looking to get your amateur radio license?
@@W6IWN_Radio how do you get a beginner license?
I think you'll find it's a Quansheng with a Baofeng label 😂
@TRIPPLEJAY00 nope, different hardware but the same name.
Hi, newbie here , is a permit needed to own/handled this ham radios?
Not to own, but you need a tech license to transmit. You can listen and use it as a scanner.
No license is required to own or use it for listening, only for transmitting (talk).
@@W6IWN_Radio Can it transmit to any frequencies/bands that don't require a license?
@@c0t1 It does GMRS/FRS, too.
@@W6IWN_Radio Thank you!
Great info as always! Keep em coming my friend! KK7RHF 73
Thanks, Dave! 😃
