    well since so many people are asking about the cylinder hone we did the hone is called a Brush Hone It's perfect for deburring and deglazing engine cylinder walls
    its made just for Nikasil cylinders ....

    • @davidjo997
      @davidjo997 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Brad quick question, whats your opinion on the idea thst this type of hone ruins the thin niksil coating? About to put my first top end on my 19 250 xc with 100 hours, cross hatching should be fine, would you recommend honing anyway to ensure proper ring seating?

    • @brad5664
      @brad5664 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidjo997 ya if you have hone thats made for nikasil if not you can use green scotch bright pad and contact cleaner ..you want to get the carbon build up and deglazing the cylinder that will for sure help with new ring seating

    Is it needed to use a hone for the cylinder when changing piston on a Sxf or other nicasiled cylinder? Or are there something else you can use that you have in your house?

    • @dirtniron

      check other comments, Brad (the mechanic) explains what he did... its not really a honing

    How much would the labor on something like this cost? Parts estimate? Also, can you expect a power increase from the new piston (same compression? mass?)? Would this be a got time to do any polishing/head work?

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used stock compression piston, no porting or polishing, still it should run better than before, the engine was little tired, specially the clutch and I am also getting hotcams and full fmf system, I am expecting some power gains for sure

      @@dirtniron that's a pity. Do you remember if your gear had a shaft pressed into it that rotating inside the case or it has brass insert an it is rotating on an insert that is pressed into case?
