Had this issue too. I disconnected the BMS wire from the negative battery terminal and has auto zone run a free check on the battery, starter and alternator. When the reading populated it rebooted the radio. When the battery drops below 14V it automatically shuts the radio off to save power. The reason it comes back on its own is because the battery recharges above 13v. Short driving trips will lower the battery level. Good luck
I'll never buy another Ford product as long as I live because of the SYNC system. If they can't even get the radio and clock to work properly and reliably, they don't deserve my business. It's madness to have to disconnect power or pull the fuse and put it back for it to work. And, every time I have taken my Ford C-Max to the dealership for service, when they ask me about buying a new Ford, I tell them that will NEVER happen, and why.
I’ve learned and noticed that if I leave anything in the charging ports before shutting the car off this happens! I think they must all be on that same circuit or something. Weird issue, but I love my Ford Edge! Such a beautiful ride.
Had similar issue with 14 f150, however the solution was not the same. Radio would be on but intermittently no sound. Restarting vehicle seemed to work sometimes but eventually nothing helped. About the same time my right rear door ajar notice began popping up even when door was closed tight. I pulled back the boot exposing the wires from car body to the door and found some broken wires. I repaired the wires, door ajar notice went away, and radio works perfectly every time. I did not disconnect the battery or mess with any other wiring at all. I can only theorize that some of the broken wires were for the door speaker and the broken exposed ends contacted each other and shorted out the speakers to the entire vehicle. I do remember there were a couple of times I heard a pop from the speakers and then they quit, but most of the time they either worked or they didn't. Any way just posting in case it helps anyone.
Did you figure out what the issue was? I have a 2016 f250. The radio works just fine, but when I put it on Bluetooth audio, no sound comes out of the speakers at all. I tried what thus video recommended, but it didn't change anything.
It's a condensation issue if you get a very very moist day at the tenants to do these things Sony didn't put wax on their electrical components computer components most importantly thay never thought they would need to
Mind you...I'm not a mechanic, nor do I work for Ford. I assumed this disconnected the power from the battery to the radio. My guess is...if you disconnected the battery, you'd get the same effect. Either way. I'm not recommending you do either of these. Just letting you know what worked for me.
A couple of things to check. Does your phone still connect via Bluetooth. Does no audio come through? Or does it come on and just very quiet. Have you checked all modes like CD FM and phone? You could potentially try to disconnect the battery and reconnect it. Also you could try doing an upgrade to your firmware using a USB and downloading the firmware from Ford.
It basically disconnects the battery from the radio. I think you can effectively do the same thing by disconnecting the battery if that's something you're comfortable with.

Get to the point
It's a 3 minute video. In a world where every clown on TH-cam posts 10 minute videos... You can handle 3 minutes. I'm sure of it.
