I’m on a binge of just listening to random songs on TH-cam, all the songs I’ve came across have been so similar in feeling and mood, yet are so wildly different. As much as I want to resonate with the statement “it’s never that serious” I feel like I’ll always feel and live things deeply and kinda romanticize it. As delusional I must sound, I don’t think I can live any other way. I feel so eccentrically and I’m constantly moving and wanting to live. And this song is just, it brings a wonderful feeling. This edit convinced me to watch the movie and good lord the song fits way too well with the story. The dreamlike setting, the absurd and tragic circumstance both neighbors find themselves in, the dreamlike sense of time and place, and especially the accidental emotions both protagonists catch as they roleplay their respective partners betrayals. "You just didn't love me like I love you" feels like something both of them could have said to their partners, and later what the male lead could have said to the female one. Both of them end up running away from their act of theatrical adultery, but it takes years for either of them to actually leave each other. It's really a picture perfect movie for this song

I heard this recently, the day after I went to see a dear old friend who had moved 100s of miles away 13 years ago. I found her waiting in the garden for me, looking out to sea.
