I played this song in the car and randomly started to tear up and cry for a good 10 minutes straight, I don’t know why but I haven’t had the ability to cry the last months so I thank you
I am 62 years old and I love this song and the video. Even though its not the "official video." It's amazing how it brings back good memories of the 70's and it wasn't recorded until 2007. The song, that is. I suppose that in some people's minds this is an oldie. Life goes by in a heartbeat. Kudos to Wemerson Ferreira on the editing job.
I don't know what life would be like because I have begun to realize how important music is to me. Music is a universal language in my opinion. Music is love it is happiness it is sadness it is hope. Music cans be any emotion.

For all those who we've lost, or are going through difficult times ever nostalgic of times long gone. For as long as we carry those memories, the departed live on within & around us. Fret not, despair not, the soul is eternal- live, laugh, rejoice.
Love reading the comments and seeing how everyone has their own interpretation of this kind of music. One person might see themselfs sitting on a balcony bathing in the sun and the other dreams of rainy days and resting inside. It only shows how music is a universal language but we al have a different dialect.

35yr old dude who did fun stuff: be sensible but do go out for some weird nights with reasonable - sensible strangers. You'd be surprised how many nice people are yearning for an interesting spontaneous fun conversation, dance, etc. Be random sometimes.
Do it! Try caving (my own passion) you can see places few people, if anyone has ever seen before. It's cheap too and with a bit of luck you may discover a new cave or passage, especially if you go one step further and try cave diving. If that's not for you try mountaineering. Or canoeing. Or canyoning. Or whatever takes your fancy. Or just go travelling. If you go hosteling you'll find lots of friendly people who often offer help and suggestions of things to do and places to see and you'll probably find some who wish to visit the same places as you. Give it a try and you'll be glad you did.
Hell yeah. Such a great time to be alive and doing whatever we wanted. I think I murdered about a dozen people. Can't do that today, though. The times are changing.
This song touches me more than ever, I lost my friend to a motorcycle accident 3 months ago. I’ve ridden so many miles with her and I’ve been thinking of her ever since. She’s one of the first people I met when I got my motorcycle, I’ll love you and remember you forever Alondra.

This song makes me think about my Pa (dad) and his life growing up. Im 23 and he is 63... This music video makes me think about how my pa was once young, running around and full of energy, experiencing the world just as i am doing now. I wish i could go back and be friends with my pa and share those moments together when he was young and able to do all sorts of things. Took me awhile to realize the importance of family and im grateful for the time i have been blessed with both my parents and my family. I hope and pray i have many more years to come with my parents still around. Watching them grow old has been one of the toughest things to come to terms with. We are a generation of nostalgia. Dreamers of memories we wish we had. Lovers of a life we wish we had. This empty modern world has robbed us of meaning so we create it in art.
Well written, and I won't disagree, as these things are true. I will add this while I'm here though; Ever period of revival throughout history can be marked in tandem with it's art. Exceptional creation that can only occur in the right environment. So from this perspective, (and hey, what makes art so moving if not perspective?) we're living trough the most defining period that's ever been. Maybe beauty really is in the eye of the beholder? I mean a butterfly is beautiful, but if you could point to the most chaotic, but most beautiful time in it's life, it would be the second it breaks out of that cocoon. th-cam.com/video/hl7ZXG4v-_c/w-d-xo.html

That “so many miles” that she sings makes me think of all the miles that I shared in my car with the girl I thought would have become my lifelong partner. We broke up recently, and now that “so many miles” is referring to the many more things that I’ll have to learn along the way. Great song, nostalgic of the past but still with a refreshing sense of future possibilities ❤

you can go back, its called recapitulation . The brain stores every memory in ultra HD. Tune all your senses then use a smell. That timeline is still happening in real time you just gotta plug in. Time is irrelevant to consciousness.
Cherish the memories but live in the present and make every day count, make it amazing, Memories are lovely but we all deserve to thrive in the present.
Since we cant go back and do things we regret not doing or undo what you regret doing or go back to happier times it's a shame deletion of memory isnt possible either

Like whenever I hear the 80s song "Drivers Seat" from an English band called Sniffin The Tears (for many yrs I thought they were a USA 🇺🇸 band) I always picture myself (or a scene from a movie) driving a convertible car through the empty Nevada desert on a hot summer night with a star 🌟 filled sky watching the bright lights of the Las Vegas city skyline pass by in the distance.

This song brings back memories so my brother, sister and father on a river trip to the guadeloupe river. Two of them have died since then. i miss them and this song keeps them alive. Thank you! It been 10 years and my heart still hurts. Miss y’all.
I'm 68 and this one just takes me back to the mid 70s when a friend and I just used to hit the road every couple of weeks and just drive off the beaten paths in NZ. Had some diving gear in the back to catch some fish for dinner, eating Abalone off the rocks in some out of the way place, not always sure if we had the fuel money to get back home. One time, we picked up a couple of West Australian girls hitch hiking in the middle of nowhere and they just wanted to do the scenic tour and were happy to pay the fuel. They were great girls, good company. We got our trip, they got their tour so everyone was happy. Saw some great unspoilt places. This song just gets into your head and the memories come flooding back. It was such a relaxed and interesting time that eventually came to an end as real life kind of took us over and we just stopped doing it.
[Verse 1] Time has come to go Pack your bags, hit the open road Our hearts just won't die It's the trip keeps us alive [Pre-Chorus] Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh [Chorus] So many miles So many miles So many miles Away [Verse 2] The falling sun burns a line Tearing into the night Watching you fall asleep The sweetest dove in a dream [Pre-Chorus] Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh [Chorus] So many miles So many miles So many miles Away
I got this song stuck in my head, its so beautiful. My mom died when I was 14. The only wish from her I can remember was that I should go to college and get a degree. Now, 11 years after, I am handing in my final graduation work the day after tomorrow. I did it just for her
You are a good man/woman. She may have gone to rest, but you bestowed peace. When you are on that stage accepting your degree. She will be right there with. Just like shes been all along. Congratulations.
A very clever put together video evokes many memories, while there is no film footage of our childhood theres many many photos . Im 60 and love watching this only came across it recently. My dad 79 passed away in 2003 and my mum 91 in 2021. I live in family home where once there was 7 of us now only 1 .
I'm guilty of missing my past...perhaps too much. I know that the best thing to do is to create a better present and a better future. I just haven't done that yet. I have so many fond memories about my childhood and my twenties. That is when I had some of my closest friends in my life and we experienced a million memories together.
Sounds like gratitude. It is ok if it’s only different instead of better. Its best not to strive to repeat past,.I find I still meet wonderful people, enjoy the heck out of life while we can, you know? Salud!
All I can tell you as someone who is 59, with a chronic illness...is to make your mark while you can. The memories shouldn't fade. I'm constantly thinking about my childhood now...it makes me weep, because we never think we will age. Please create a better present and better future. You have the right idea. When we are young, time crawls. As we age, the years become a blur like headlights on a highway. Best of luck.
This time last year i listened to this song 3000 times crying and heartbroken over an undeserving lost love.. Today, I am fulfilled and loved entirely by a worthy person and the vibe of this song has flowed through with my life.. Its so fucking beautiful
I love everything about the 70’s and 80’ s it was something that can never these new generations would understand! I am blessed I got to lived that era !! 🙏🏽
This reminded me of a picture from my childhood that I haven't seen in years. It was an old, brittle sepia-toned picture, the ones where they printed the date along the edge. 1968. I was four and was being kissed by a little girl about the same age in front of a Native-American themed truck-stop diner. Vintage Americana. I was too young to ever remember the kiss, the picture has been lost for years and I'm now starting to brittle and sepia. So thanks for reminding me. It's been one hell of a trip.
I just discovered this song and I'm in love. This video takes me back to the late 1970s when I was just a young teen. The nostalgia and sadness that those days are gone, is real. Great compilation to a very new "one of my favorite" songs.

This song is incredible. My feelings of complete sadness and yet complete happiness at the same time. The longing for those moments long ago with no care and just my curiosity and exploration. It makes me happy to have a song that captures the moments and yet sad that they are gone.

Yes this music does remind me of earlier years and they were good times. It does hurt to be older and look back at the times that you had when you're young wow we can explain it to younger people they get it they understand it. But you have to have experience of hundreds of things to be able to get it you have to have memories to be able to get it it was good memories or bad memories you can understand it but you're not going to get it until multiple things to your life you've been through figured out it rolled forward so hold onto your youth you will not get it until you get older put a few Tools in toolbox the song
Its one of the most cathartic pieces I've come across. You hear it and sense theirs a world of writers, artists and musicians who've had a brush with this piece of music and whatever they were doing at the time, they've done it even better. We need more content in our lives like this.
I don't know how or why...but this is just a perfect combo of music and video clips..makes me smile..but also makes me a little sad thinking about the innocence of all of our early years..that younger girl has a smile that i think we all had in our early teens around the water with loved ones...lovely...

I'm always reliving things in life, in dreams and in my mind. Sometimes the ending is different, sometimes it's the same. But the feelings always remain. This is what it feels like in a song. Eternally looking for closure.
Wahnsinn!!!!
This song makes me reflect of all the mistakes I made in this life and what my life could of been if I made diferent decisions that didn't affect my life the way they did. .. sometime is best to eat all of that up and let it drown in a sea of forgotten memories . . . Even if once in a while I come back to them and drown myself deeper with them instead of crawling out of that empty hole . I can't express myself the way I want in person but I know that here nobody will judge me. Keep fighting.
I think we somehow all have the same feeling on certain song. when we’re just all with our mind and thinking about memories and good time’s we had and i think this is one of those song’s

Tank you for these words and this melody so appropriate with what I feel. Love, peace, harmony from France
This is one of the most beautiful comments I have ever read on here. Keep projecting love and remember most importantly to love yourself and make the best of it while here on this ride. Alas, it is temporary and just a ride- we all get on and get off albeit at different times. Keep going. Undoubtedly, there is heartache on the ups and downs of the ride.. we have different lengths of time on our personal rides, as stark as a realization that is to find out sometimes. Someone once told me living and losing someone important to you is like losing an arm or foot etc, as you keep on living but a piece of you is gone until father time heals you. Time and age is the ultimate adversary. We try to fight it sometimes but father time is undefeated. Keep watered and keep shining - as we're all just flowers in a way. Take care. Love sent all the way from Southern USA. ❤ ✌

Hit the road....hit the road

Even though this song is only several years old, it almost has a timeless, 80s alternative/new wave vibe to it, I think that's what makes it so good. I think we'll still be listening to it for decades to come because of its timeless quality.

Maan, this song... It’s sad, nostalgic, yet beautiful and kinda haunting. The video, although fan-made, matches the vibe so well. I’ve read some of the comments and I gotta agree - this song evokes feelings of nostalgia, sadness, mourning but in a good way. Helps us reminisce about the good things and people we’ve lost. I think the video and the song together are able to connect on a deep level with so many of us because this is what we imagine dying feels like - reliving and replaying significant moments from our lives. Don’t know about you but if this is what I see and hear in the last moments before I go, I wouldn’t mind it at all.
Hit the open road. The older I get, the more I want to be true to what's inside me even though it may not be 'sensible' or gets me what society thinks I should have, which feels like fake happiness.

I am 62 years old and I love this song and the video.
Even though its not the "official video." It's amazing how it brings back good memories of the 70's and
it wasn't recorded until 2007.

What good is it without freedom. The world is getting less and less free and nobody cares.
@@Jayla-dj2gj its limitations on freedom that put people like Jimmy saville in prison so it's not all bad, move to Canada if you want freedom you could drive for hours out their without seeing another human being, it don't get much more free than that
For all those who we've lost, or are going through difficult times ever nostalgic of times long gone.

Come here brooo...
Welcome to indonesia 😉
it always does, doesn''t it
This band nailed the feeling of thinking of the past..in a good way.

Growing up in the 70's was so awesome. We literally did whatever the hell we wanted. Good times.
It's so true - and kids today have no idea what that means. We were truly the last free generation of kids. Video started taking over in the 80s...
Hell yeah. Such a great time to be alive and doing whatever we wanted. I think I murdered about a dozen people. Can't do that today, though. The times are changing.

I have faith in the end we will all be together. Love to all.
That's a beautiful way of seeing things, and at such a young age, it's a blessing.

We are a generation of nostalgia. Dreamers of memories we wish we had. Lovers of a life we wish we had. This empty modern world has robbed us of meaning so we create it in art.
Well written, and I won't disagree, as these things are true. I will add this while I'm here though;
Ever period of revival throughout history can be marked in tandem with it's art.

@@PivotF00t The ontology of liberalism going back to John Locke is the liberation of the individual self from collective identity. This has progressed to such an extreme that we’ve now been stripped of every source of meaning. We’ve become a society of Neitzsche’s last bugman. What lies ahead is the overthrow of this empty world and a return to meaningful struggle.

That “so many miles” that she sings makes me think of all the miles that I shared in my car with the girl I thought would have become my lifelong partner. We broke up recently, and now that “so many miles” is referring to the many more things that I’ll have to learn along the way. The greatest part of the human brain is memory, the worst thing that comes from memory is nostalgia. We remember but we can never go back! So sad.
But memory means we get to keep it forever(or until dementia sets in). Even if we can't go back it's still there.
you can go back, its called recapitulation .
The way out, is the way in...
Since we cant go back and do things we regret not doing or undo what you regret doing or go back to happier times it's a shame deletion of memory isnt possible either
This song and video brings back so many childhood memories. I grew up in the 70's and early 80's.

Watching you fall asleep

Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh

I got this song stuck in my head, its so beautiful. My mom died when I was 14. The only wish from her I can remember was that I should go to college and get a degree. Now, 11 years after, I am handing in my final graduation work the day after tomorrow. I did it just for her
Hey, don't forget to tell us later that you've succesfully finished your graduation work =)
Good on you mate. You did it!
She is, and always has been, proud of you. Well done!
Good for you:) And couldn't think of a better song to have stuck in your head!
You are a good man/woman. She may have gone to rest, but you bestowed peace. When you are on that stage accepting your degree. She will be right there with. Just like shes been all along. Congratulations.
Chamar quem a gente ama, pegar a estrada, vento batendo no rosto e essa música no fundo. Que vibe!!

So damn true!
Sounds like gratitude. It is ok if it’s only different instead of better. Its best not to strive to repeat past,.I find I still meet wonderful people, enjoy the heck out of life while we can, you know? Salud!
I am feeling the same way.
Same here! I absolutley love my past and I truly truly long for those days, I believe some day I'll relive those times again
This time last year i listened to this song 3000 times crying and heartbroken over an undeserving lost love..

One of the most beautiful tracks ever written.
It's been one hell of a trip.
that sounds amazing. I hope you have a good life.

Gracias Nadia. ¡Que linda eres!

Its one of the most cathartic pieces I've come across. You hear it and sense theirs a world of writers, artists and musicians who've had a brush with this piece of music and whatever they were doing at the time, they've done it even better. We need more content in our lives like this.

Well summed up and yeah agreed
I don't know how or why...but this is just a perfect combo of music and video clips..makes me smile..but also makes me a little sad thinking about the innocence of all of our early years..that younger girl has a smile that i think we all had in our early teens around the water with loved ones...lovely...
Her smile is incaptivating. Reminds me of good times of past.

Your editing is very much in tune with the melody, I congratulate you for your talent and for appreciating this beautiful music !!
a big hug friend.
Muito obrigado.
@@JesseMariz Hello Jesus. Did they send you the youtube link for the river footage? I'd like to see it as well.
I'm always reliving things in life, in dreams and in my mind. Sometimes the ending is different, sometimes it's the same. But the feelings always remain. This is what it feels like in a song. Eternally looking for closure.
Wahnsinn!!!!
I recently discovered this song and of course Still Corners. Some songs just touch me inside and this is one of them. Just love it.
Same here.....
I'm thinking of my dad right now
For me, Still Corners was the best discovery of the year 🥰
Me too!😅
Para mí también.
Es La Primera ves que los escucho. Hermosa voz, bellas notas.
Gracias.
What is done is done.
Keep going and worry not.
Can't rain forever !
I think we somehow all have the same feeling on certain song. when we’re just all with our mind and thinking about memories and good time’s we had and i think this is one of those song’s
Every 1 fucks up
It's just the nature of all
Ufff like me, I understand you!
All becouse I didn't know how to xpress my self...thinking about it, 17 years ago,
I wasnt inlove like that, I like to think about if I were brave in that year...❤
That’s what you’re here for, to make mistakes and learn from them. Peace brother ❤
This song reminds me of a friend, that friend who brought a little sun wherever he went, always with a smile on his lips and an anecdote to tell ; this friend has left for this trip of which we do not return and through this song, I hope to send him the best waves on his way. Tank you for these words and this melody so appropriate with what I feel.
Love, peace, harmony from France
This is hot
❤❤❤❤❤
Eso es lo bello de la musica

I love how psychedelic this track feels. Definitely great for a road trip into the unknown.

I adore this song and her voice. Absolutely divine ❤

Well said 🌱☀️
Bought my own semi truck 2 months ago and this music does just that when I drive wherever I want across the country. Badass tune!
Well said, can totally agree with you :)
Hit the road....hit the road
Atom Heart Mother que percepção incrível. Estou me encorajando a seguir esse caminho.
Realmente. Obrigada para palavres táo boas e verdade.Eu intendo. O meu portugues escrito náo e muito bom mes eu intendo.
@@SummerFossils Is that Portuguese? I'm gonna guess what you said...
"Have you seen the movie Into the Wild? It is an excellent film that expresses the sentiment you described."
@@SummerFossils Sweet!
This song just mesmerizes me- I play it on repeat and trip outside my head-it’s that powerful. Damn what a tune! Love peace and happiness to all
Same ....it's haunting with a summer feel to it ....cruising on a motorbike with a girl on the back
Usually I would roll my eyes at a comment like this and think "Overreact much?", but definitely not this time. I can usually listen to other relaxing songs and completely zone out while still staying grounded in the song, but I find myself getting so deep into my thoughts while listening to this song that when it ends, I feel like I didn't even really listen to it. You're right, this song is completely mesmerizing.
SirLeDoux check out hibou
Actually stumbled upon this while on some Blue goba magic mushrooms. Interesting.
Makes me feel so nostalgic for a life and love I never lived! Sadly.
It's never too late.
why not lived
A best friend died. We shared our music with each other. I moved. This tune and the haunting memory of a phone call never returned... is all I have to hold on to. RIP Darrin
I remember when I first heard this band when I was kinda going through a psychedelic phase of trying to find myself and this song in particular really spoke to me during one of my trips
Even though this song is only several years old, it almost has a timeless, 80s alternative/new wave vibe to it, I think that's what makes it so good. I think we'll still be listening to it for decades to come because of its timeless quality.
The late teens - a time when you thought you’d live forever.
When you get to 72 you realise you might not! SO, you listen to as much good music as you can before it's too late.
Ingleby nah. I seriously started thinking about death around 18 ....
Drink Weed younger for me bro I was 9 and already thinking bout death
@@KoharuUchihaK Thinking about death at 18 is different than realizing the inevitability of death as you get older.
x x are u antinatalist then??
I took my friend out for a day from hospital to the coast it was the last time I saw him this song somehow reminds me of times before he had mental health issues. R.I.P bro
I dont know why but this song makes me feel like the world is okay and there's still good people outside 💜💜 love from Saudi
bc there is :)
Welcome to the world 🗺
The world is much better than what mainstream media shows us. Avoid watching news channels and dirty social media helps into tuning in with likeminded souls around;)
me too!
Too bad you’ll only find misery in Saudi
It's my birthday, and I'm sitting alone on the street, listening to this song on repeat. A wave of nostalgia sweeps over me every time I hear it.
Just want to say, you're not alone if you're feeling lonely and nostalgic, even on your birthday.
Its comforting that we all share the same feelings. We can all empathize with you at any point in our lives. Happy belated birthday
Wow what an awesome tune. Make me really think back of my childhood. Man have I had a good life and have so much more coming as well. Really blessed to have been raised by my awesome parents , lived close to the beach and have amazing memories of my childhood. This song hits home hard.
Such a beautiful song brings tears to my eyes. Some songs give me an intense sense of spirituality and this is one of them.
The same for me. I am searching around for something like this song
Same for me as well.... This song is beyond the stars ⭐
Reminds me of my mother...
I like this song, i really like this song. Thank you for this
Life is so short ..this song makes me wanna pack my bag and go where my heart belongs ....in Scotland
You should pack your bags and go.. 🙏👌
Im contemplating this also....Not Scotland but somewhere else .
pack your *bagpipes and go.
lol
Pack your bicycle
Hit the open road. The older I get, the more I want to be true to what's inside me even though it may not be 'sensible' or gets me what society thinks I should have, which feels like fake happiness.
Just heard this song for the first time.....I think the singers voice is beautiful....great song! Thank you for sharing.
Great song x
