This is not an official video, its a fan-made video and it was edited by me (Wemerson Ferreira). Greetings from Brazil! 🇧🇷
Its nicely done, so are you or someone you know shown in this video? Or is it just random footage....this song by the way kicks ass!!! Takes you away. Really is a trip!
@@toddswartz3510 it's a just a random footage that I found on TH-cam.
Nicely done seeing as band members are from Britain and America and you have British and American films going on here. I believe the British one is a film called Kes, which is rather a sad film. Well done on this video, i stumbled upon this by chance. Great song great video
@@SummerFossils where did you find the footage of the four teenagers at the campground at the end? would love a link if possible, been looking for it for a long time!
@@lunarmist428 The original footage it's called "Super 8mm film 1977 Gerald, Doris, Pat and Diana", just search on TH-cam 😉
My dad died 7 years ago (aged 83), and I'm afraid my mum is about dying now (90). They used to film us when we spent some vacations somewhere in France, in the 60's & 70's. That's what I think about when I watch this vid. That music fits our vids beautifully. Thank you for the music. Thanks to my parents for the fine trip we made together
Those are great ages. Spend as much as time as you can with them
Wouaw, beautiful text. May they Rest In Peace
A nice tribute - universal sentiments
So many 'miles' away :(
Trip will last forever with those videos. Hope you are doing well!
Mom just passed away 3 hours ago. Listened to this song over and over while taking a greyhound bus 23hr hoping I would make it. With gods blessing I just made it she held on and I was able to tell her I loved her with all my heart and soul. This song will remain with me forever
Very sorry to hear about your loss brother.
Wow! It’s a great song to have with you....sorry for your loss but am happy you were able to tell her you loved her with all of your heart. I lost my dad when I was 6 and still have my mom don’t know for how much longer. Anyways beautiful song
david tester very sorry for your loss... every day is a gift.
😢 so sorry.
Sorry to hear this. I lost my mom and dad two months apart from each other, last year. Share the good times you remember with others and make the world richer with her memory. The pain comes and goes when it wants to, ut it does soften a bit over time.
My mom, died when 52, 2023. She loved, this music. 😢
Makes me feel so nostalgic for a life and love I never lived! Sadly.
I am actually very depressed. Got a cancer and nothing seems going right.
This song reminds me of my trips and it's inspiring me for a new journey.
@J B thank you xx
I hope things turn around for you Lucy jordan . F*ck cancer!!, I hope you’re able to take you’re journey!

This band nailed the feeling of thinking of the past..in a good way.

I don't know what life would be like because I have begun to realize how important music is to me. Music is a universal language in my opinion.
Music is love it is happiness it is sadness it is hope. Music cans be any emotion.
What good is it without freedom. The world is getting less and less free and nobody cares.
@@Jayla-dj2gj its limitations on freedom that put people like Jimmy saville in prison so it's not all bad, move to Canada if you want freedom you could drive for hours out their without seeing another human being, it don't get much more free than that

This song touches me more than ever, I lost my friend to a motorcycle accident 3 months ago. I’ve ridden so many miles with her and I’ve been thinking of her ever since. She’s one of the first people I met when I got my motorcycle, I’ll love you and remember you forever Alondra.

😊 Good For You
I'm 231 years old and absolutely love this 🖤
We are the same age! 😅🥰
This song makes me want to go adventure, with friends I’ve never met, to places unexplored.
Let me know when you're ready! Let's go!
35yr old dude who did fun stuff: be sensible but do go out for some weird nights with reasonable - sensible strangers. You'd be surprised how many nice people are yearning for an interesting spontaneous fun conversation, dance, etc. Be random sometimes.
Come here brooo...
Welcome to indonesia 😉
it always does, doesn''t it
Do it! Try caving (my own passion) you can see places few people, if anyone has ever seen before. It's cheap too and with a bit of luck you may discover a new cave or passage, especially if you go one step further and try cave diving. If that's not for you try mountaineering. Or canoeing. Or canyoning. Or whatever takes your fancy. Or just go travelling. If you go hosteling you'll find lots of friendly people who often offer help and suggestions of things to do and places to see and you'll probably find some who wish to visit the same places as you. Give it a try and you'll be glad you did.
I'm 22 now and if I ever watch this video in my 50s on a beach with a glass of wine in my hand, my tears would join the seas... What a story humans have!

I do not understand how you were not recognised in bigger crowds... The rithm and voice, man you dance with my soul for 6 min every time i play it, this is my "me time " song. I just want to say thank you for the work u did here, you leave your mark that is magnificent, inspiring and appreciated. Thank you !
I just discovered this song and I'm in love. This video takes me back to the late 1970s when I was just a young teen. The nostalgia and sadness that those days are gone, is real. Great compilation to a very new "one of my favorite" songs.
It's really good, I was born 79 but wish I could go back in time. Video reminds me of my dad for some reason
The greatest part of the human brain is memory, the worst thing that comes from memory is nostalgia. We remember but we can never go back! So sad.
But memory means we get to keep it forever(or until dementia sets in). Even if we can't go back it's still there.
you can go back, its called recapitulation . The brain stores every memory in ultra HD. Tune all your senses then use a smell. That timeline is still happening in real time you just gotta plug in. Time is irrelevant to consciousness.
Cherish the memories but live in the present and make every day count, make it amazing, Memories are lovely but we all deserve to thrive in the present.
The way out, is the way in...
Since we cant go back and do things we regret not doing or undo what you regret doing or go back to happier times it's a shame deletion of memory isnt possible either
I am 62 years old and I love this song and the video.
Even though its not the "official video." It's amazing how it brings back good memories of the 70's and
it wasn't recorded until 2007. The song, that is. I suppose that in some people's minds this is an oldie. Life goes by in a heartbeat.
Kudos to Wemerson Ferreira on the editing job.
It feels like 2007 was a month ago. Time sure does fly.

It's a song that makes you feel strange. A world of dreams and
reality where there is something that cannot be expressed in words.

This song is the embodiment of a drive through the mountains with an old friend smiling at the sun. It will get stuck in my head for days sometimes and make me so very happy.
That's nice❤
Like whenever I hear the 80s song "Drivers Seat" from an English band called Sniffin The Tears (for many yrs I thought they were a USA 🇺🇸 band)
I always picture myself (or a scene from a movie) driving a convertible car through the empty Nevada desert on a hot summer night with a star 🌟 filled sky watching the bright lights of the Las Vegas city skyline pass by in the distance.
Growing up in the 70's was so awesome. We literally did whatever the hell we wanted. Good times.
It's so true - and kids today have no idea what that means. We were truly the last free generation of kids. Video started taking over in the 80s...
Hell yeah. Such a great time to be alive and doing whatever we wanted. I think I murdered about a dozen people. Can't do that today, though. The times are changing.

The videos of the 70-90s are the best
Last of the good life before we entered total societal decay
true
most of this video is from 1977 a guy with a TH-cam channel actually filmed these on his 8mm camera. www.youtube.com/@7144079
I was born in 93' and I feel on the tailing end of the good days. Wish I was born 10 years earlier.
Ohh so that's why life sucks fucking ass anymore
Exactly right... Like Vanilla Ice straight answered, 2004 they invented the iPhone and since then all went to hell... Listening 70, 80 and 90ties music only over here, buying vinyl weekly... They say, I am stuck in the past... I say, I was never stuck, I just quickly ran back to the best times ❤
Love reading the comments and seeing how everyone has their own interpretation of this kind of music. One person might see themselfs sitting on a balcony bathing in the sun and the other dreams of rainy days and resting inside. It only shows how music is a universal language but we al have a different dialect.

This song brings back memories so my brother, sister and father on a river trip to the guadeloupe river. Two of them have died since then. i miss them and this song keeps them alive. Thank you! It been 10 years and my heart still hurts. Miss y’all.
We are a generation of nostalgia. Dreamers of memories we wish we had. Lovers of a life we wish we had. This empty modern world has robbed us of meaning so we create it in art.
Well written, and I won't disagree, as these things are true. I will add this while I'm here though;
Ever period of revival throughout history can be marked in tandem with it's art. Exceptional creation that can only occur in the right environment. So from this perspective, (and hey, what makes art so moving if not perspective?) we're living trough the most defining period that's ever been. Maybe beauty really is in the eye of the beholder? I mean a butterfly is beautiful, but if you could point to the most chaotic, but most beautiful time in it's life, it would be the second it breaks out of that cocoon.

@@PivotF00t The ontology of liberalism going back to John Locke is the liberation of the individual self from collective identity. This has progressed to such an extreme that we’ve now been stripped of every source of meaning. We’ve become a society of Neitzsche’s last bugman. What lies ahead is the overthrow of this empty world and a return to meaningful struggle.
I was born in the 2000s. All the subcultures i wanted to be a part of growing up are dieing now. I deeply wish to go back in the 80s and 90s to experience just one night out. This is how i feel
I got this song stuck in my head, its so beautiful. My mom died when I was 14. The only wish from her I can remember was that I should go to college and get a degree. Now, 11 years after, I am handing in my final graduation work the day after tomorrow. I did it just for her

This song and video brings back so many childhood memories. I grew up in the 70's and early 80's. My parents would load us up and drive a day or two to a lake campground and we would camp for a week every summer. Those were some great times....
I remember when I first heard this band when I was kinda going through a psychedelic phase of trying to find myself and this song in particular really spoke to me during one of my trips

If ever there was a song and video combination that perfectly encapsulated the long hot summers of the mid-1970s I remember as a child, it's this.

By far the most memory provoking song I've ever heard.
This song makes me think about my Pa (dad) and his life growing up. Im 23 and he is 63... This music video makes me think about how my pa was once young, running around and full of energy, experiencing the world just as i am doing now. I wish i could go back and be friends with my pa and share those moments together when he was young and able to do all sorts of things. Took me awhile to realize the importance of family and im grateful for the time i have been blessed with both my parents and my family. I hope and pray i have many more years to come with my parents still around. Watching them grow old has been one of the toughest things to come to terms with. I have faith in the end we will all be together. Love to all.
That's a beautiful way of seeing things, and at such a young age, it's a blessing.
it's nice what you write. let your father or anyone else be a role model to make the world a better place. someday you will be someone
I'm guilty of missing my past...perhaps too much. I know that the best thing to do is to create a better present and a better future. I just haven't done that yet. I have so many fond memories about my childhood and my twenties. That is when I had some of my closest friends in my life and we experienced a million memories together.
So damn true!
Sounds like gratitude. It is ok if it’s only different instead of better. Its best not to strive to repeat past,.I find I still meet wonderful people, enjoy the heck out of life while we can, you know? Salud!
I am feeling the same way.
All I can tell you as someone who is 59, with a chronic illness...is to make your mark while you can. The memories shouldn't fade. I'm constantly thinking about my childhood now...it makes me weep, because we never think we will age. Please create a better present and better future. You have the right idea. When we are young, time crawls. As we age, the years become a blur like headlights on a highway.
Best of luck.
Same here! I absolutley love my past and I truly truly long for those days, I believe some day I'll relive those times again
So many people turn to this song in times of grief it's remarkable the similar experiences we all share. I didn't even know about this song until the night of my best friends death I turned to TH-cam for anything any song that would heal and this was on repeat and still is 5 years later

This song is still magnificent and it refuses to age despite a LOT of listens. One of my all time favourites.

Its one of the most cathartic pieces I've come across. You hear it and sense theirs a world of writers, artists and musicians who've had a brush with this piece of music and whatever they were doing at the time, they've done it even better. We need more content in our lives like this.
Enjoy. th-cam.com/video/eKh3LtSzZr0/w-d-xo.html
Well summed up and yeah agreed
This reminded me of a picture from my childhood that I haven't seen in years. It was an old, brittle sepia-toned picture, the ones where they printed the date along the edge. 1968. I was four and was being kissed by a little girl about the same age in front of a Native-American themed truck-stop diner. Vintage Americana. I was too young to ever remember the kiss, the picture has been lost for years and I'm now starting to brittle and sepia. So thanks for reminding me. It's been one hell of a trip.
that sounds amazing. I hope you have a good life.
The sound very well evokes the nostalgia of a distant time, the 70s, when summers were joyful and life was still to be savoured. Melancholy comes to see this beautiful video 😢
Truly a masterpiece and a huge credit to everyone involved with this beautiful song..bless
[Verse 1]
Time has come to go
Pack your bags, hit the open road
Our hearts just won't die
It's the trip keeps us alive
[Chorus]
Oooooh, oooooh, oooooh, ooooh
So many miles
So many miles
So many miles
Away
[Verse 2]
They're following some dance of light
Tearing into the night
Watching you fall asleep
The sweetest dove in the dream
[Chorus]
Oooooh, oooooh, oooooh, ooooh
So many miles
So many miles
So many miles
Away
Away❤️

Yes this music does remind me of earlier years and they were good times. It does hurt to be older and look back at the times that you had when you're young wow we can explain it to younger people they get it they understand it. But you have to have experience of hundreds of things to be able to get it you have to have memories to be able to get it it was good memories or bad memories you can understand it but you're not going to get it until multiple things to your life you've been through figured out it rolled forward so hold onto your youth you will not get it until you get older put a few Tools in toolbox the song
Gracias Nadia. ¡Que linda eres!
Nadia Rocío Calderón Martínez gracias 😊
Takes me back to being a teen in the 70’s. Life was simpler, slower, easier, less stressful and the summer days were long and wonderful. I’d go back in a heartbeat ❤
I was thinking about that, all of the folks in these old movies are in their 70s now, they are my parents' generation and I recognize it. I fall in love with the brunette in the t-shirt and bikini bottom every time I watch this, she's so adorable. I hope she's had a good life.
Gudlad61
I'm 61 too and I'd go back to the 70s in a Heartbeat too.
I can appreciate those times now and how things were.
For all those who have lost loved ones, as long as we hold their memories true, they live within us all and motivate us when we feel down
Every time that I listen to this song, I feel as one with God almighty.....My heart is moved in a way that can only be felt and described by the soul!!!

Best video ever a perfect match for this Song. They have been touched by grace. Thank you . Great Combination of the atmosphere in the British isles and the US back in the 70's
Glad I came across this band. Now I’m in love ❤
Oh God. This makes me want to cry! Ìt reminds me so much of when I was a young teen in like 1973, '74. Up here in the Seattle area in summer we'd go to one of the lakes with swimming and lots of boys. Or Point Defiance Park in Tacoma and it was so good! It was like one big party there. Riding on the back of a young guy's motorcycle. Geez this one boyfriend I only dated for about a month. Because he was dumb as a post. But he was so good looking. He looked like that one Michealgelo statue. But finally I couldn't take it anymore. But it was fun there for a while! This video evokes a nostalgic mood.
Glad you never ran into Ted Bundy.
Same here. Seattle area. Young teen in the early 70's. Swimming at Lake Tapps. Lots of backpacking at Mt. Rainier in the mid to late 70's. Simpler times. Great times.
In 1973 i was reading" Kes" in first year of secondary school in Scotland.
Poor Billy wasn't having any dream life.
Up north it was a bleak life for the working class.
This beautiful song makes me think of my mother and father who died waay too young! I'm 36 now.. my mom passed a year and a half ago at just 51, and my father 10 years ago, in his 40s.💔 It breaks my heart and I miss them every day. I think of them every single day.. they were legends to me, and I'll miss them forever. Life is bitter sweet and infinite. We must love hard to make the most of it! Always listen to your heart, love yourself deeply and love others deeply! In memory of my parents, Jack and Andrea.💓 I believe in life after life. I'll love you forever.💫😭🥺☯️♾️ 🤍🌅🌊🕊️🕊️💕

Gracias

@@durrutisol Gracias ♥️♥️♥️
This song and video feels so nostalgic. It's like it takes u on a trip back in time and like ur actually part of it. I would've loved to have grown up in the 60s and 70s. Love everything about it
Back then you truly lived a life !
60th and 70th are the best times of the history yet.
I grew up in the 60s and 70s. We had a boat in Chicago and damn near lived on the beach in the summer.
This song takes me back
So it's not just me that got Nostalgia for something I never experienced then
myself as well. even though I grew up in the 80s and 90s the 70 s looked awesome. I wish I was in on of those tubes going down the river with those people. They all looks so happy and relaxed . makes one wonder if they are still alive today and what other ventures they went on.
This song makes me reflect of all the mistakes I made in this life and what my life could of been if I made diferent decisions that didn't affect my life the way they did. .. sometime is best to eat all of that up and let it drown in a sea of forgotten memories . . . Even if once in a while I come back to them and drown myself deeper with them instead of crawling out of that empty hole . I can't express myself the way I want in person but I know that here nobody will judge me.
Keep fighting.
What is done is done.
Keep going and worry not.
Can't rain forever !
I think we somehow all have the same feeling on certain song. when we’re just all with our mind and thinking about memories and good time’s we had and i think this is one of those song’s
Every 1 fucks up
It's just the nature of all
Ufff like me, I understand you!
All becouse I didn't know how to xpress my self...thinking about it, 17 years ago,
I wasnt inlove like that, I like to think about if I were brave in that year...❤
That’s what you’re here for, to make mistakes and learn from them. Peace brother ❤
I heard this song being listening by someone in the Budapest Airport and directly fell in love with it . i'm kinda scared of flying and listening this song during the flight made me comfortable and the flight was easier . Thanks to you Stranger in Budapest Airport with your speaker .
The POWER of Music!. #StayBlessed
I was listening to the songs of cigarette after sex , after that this song automatically played next, after hearing the intro music I instantly like this song😂 and added it to my playlist
One of few great bands nowadays, thank you for music you making for us.
Life is so short ..this song makes me wanna pack my bag and go where my heart belongs ....in Scotland
You should pack your bags and go.. 🙏👌
Im contemplating this also....Not Scotland but somewhere else .
pack your *bagpipes and go.
lol
Pack your bicycle
Hit the open road. The older I get, the more I want to be true to what's inside me even though it may not be 'sensible' or gets me what society thinks I should have, which feels like fake happiness.
Lovin this feel good music right now as the world is going mad at the moment.
sylvie scopazzo Stop the world... I’m getting off.
Knowing the world is mad is one sign of sanity. You'll be all right.
It rather makes me feel kinda sad
They have a excellent new album out now!
What a beautiful track to come back to over & over again. It makes you look back & up ahead, all at once.
I played this song in the car and randomly started to tear up and cry for a good 10 minutes straight, I don’t know why but I haven’t had the ability to cry the last months so I thank you
I don't know how or why...but this is just a perfect combo of music and video clips..makes me smile..but also makes me a little sad thinking about the innocence of all of our early years..that younger girl has a smile that i think we all had in our early teens around the water with loved ones...lovely...
Her smile is incaptivating. Reminds me of good times of past.
@@SummerFossils Where did you get the images of the family or friends walking in the river, is it from a particular person or is it extracted from a famous movie?
@@SummerFossils Oh thank you very much, friend, you made my day, I'll see the video you mention, your editing is excellent, the song I think many described it as excellent and motivating.
Your editing is very much in tune with the melody, I congratulate you for your talent and for appreciating this beautiful music !!
a big hug friend.
Muito obrigado.
@@ILMETROSENSUAL Hello Jesus. Did they send you the youtube link for the river footage? I'd like to see it as well.
This song reminds me of a friend, that friend who brought a little sun wherever he went, always with a smile on his lips and an anecdote to tell ; this friend has left for this trip of which we do not return and through this song, I hope to send him the best waves on his way. Tank you for these words and this melody so appropriate with what I feel.
Love, peace, harmony from France
This is hot
This is one of the most beautiful comments I have ever read on here. Keep projecting love and remember most importantly to love yourself and make the best of it while here on this ride. Alas, it is temporary and just a ride- we all get on and get off albeit at different times. Keep going. Undoubtedly, there is heartache on the ups and downs of the ride.. we have different lengths of time on our personal rides, as stark as a realization that is to find out sometimes. Someone once told me living and losing someone important to you is like losing an arm or foot etc, as you keep on living but a piece of you is gone until father time heals you. Time and age is the ultimate adversary. We try to fight it sometimes but father time is undefeated. Keep watered and keep shining - as we're all just flowers in a way. Take care.
Love sent all the way from Southern USA. ❤ ✌
I have been listening to the Trip, several times each week for the last 5 years, usually when I return from work. It's in my essential, favorite songs list.
Greetings from Athens :)
This song just makes you want to leave with absolutely no desired destination
A best friend died. We shared our music with each other. I moved. This tune and the haunting memory of a phone call never returned... is all I have to hold on to. RIP Darrin
Someones gotta say it. That fucking guitar or what ever is making the high pitch, is out of this world, Amazing, The Vocals are pure the lyrics are amazing this song and video is a work of Art and I truly appreciate the feeling I get from this. Masterpiece.

Might be an fx pedal but most likely a synthesizer.
I listen to this on all my road trips.
If people like this, I'd suggest listening to a band called, The Sundays. Start with their first album, Reading, Writing & Arithmetic.
@@Scorpio_Moonshine I second this, The Sundays rocks.
@@jess-uz1zh Totally agree.
All three of their albums are solid from beginning to the end. 👏
What a happy and uplifting song. Love this 🌞✨
Muy cierto 👍
I'm always reliving things in life, in dreams and in my mind. Sometimes the ending is different, sometimes it's the same. But the feelings always remain. This is what it feels like in a song. Eternally looking for closure.
