When you’re literally just sitting and talking - no editing, no special effects, no clowning around to entertain, no talking fast to keep people engaged - and people attentively listen, watch, and subscribe, that is what happens when someone actually has something of true value to say. This guy is the real deal. I’m not fan boying; it’s simply refreshing to see this still exists.

As a teenager that used to have social anxiety, I was trapped in that mindset of, "I'll just become more confident once I fit into the image that people think I am." and it made me miserable anytime I actually went and talked to people, only once I accepted all the parts of me, both good despite my humility, and ugly, despite my ego, and was able to show those parts to all, I was able to be much more relaxed and confident. Sometimes all it takes is someone like you to tell it how it is for us to break through our false perceptions, thanks for all the advice Dewayne :D

Enlisting in the Military really changed my perspective on civilian life. I grew more confident in myself, it gave me the foundation to develop a personality i am satisfied with. I just don't give a shit about popular things, it is all irrelevant. People are busting themselves up over things that don't matter. I am just happy with what i am doing and that i can finally show my parents that i can support myself and even give back to thank them for feeding this piece of meat through many troublesome years. People care too much about other people and too little about themselves. Don't be an egoist, but do what makes you happy.

Thank you for this video. I figured out in my 20s that I didn't want to be like the rest of society, mainly after I lost my grandfather who was a huge influence on me. He was what you'd call "old school" in every way. Didn't have a cellphone, didn't even wear a watch after he retired. He loved his fine clothes, his felt hats, and his old cars. When he was gone I started finding myself wanting to carry the traditions on, but I knew I wasn't my grandfather so I altered what was comfortable to me and ended up with my distinct look and my on view points on things. This finds me at odds with today's world because I still believe in common sense and doing what's right no matter what. I like my vests, my baseball caps, and my boots. I like classic stuff, with a few modern things thrown in to make life a little easier. Really though, the more I go back to the basics of what my Grandfather taught me, the easier life is. Believe in God, take care of your family, do what's right and forget about what everyone else thinks or has to say. Like you said, be yourself. Take care and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I don't mean to sound antagonizing, but I don't understand how someone can find themselves and become unique but see others around them as "the rest of society" or as "sheep" as Dwayne said. I believe we all have different ways of finding our uniqueness, and maybe sometimes the uniqueness we try to find for ourselves isn't apparent or obvious to others around us. What we show to those around us (clothes, accessories, cars, tattoos, whatever) may only be a small part of a person's uniqueness for themselves, but there's so much more that we can't see or understand just by looking at or talking briefly to a person.

Man, I wish we were related. I say this because I feel like my immediate family cares so much about what society and outsiders think about them and then project that onto me. They tell me what I should do; how I should behave; how much money I should make; how I should look so I appear successful, or so others perceive me to be a certain way. On the outside, my family appears perfect, always smiling, always "happy", always fitting in, but my family is far from these things behind closed doors. I refuse to be anything other than my most genuine self. So, anyway, I appreciate this video.

The single most thing I'm most proud of is that I've never been drunk, high or ingested any kind of substance (pills, smoke, vape, psychedelic) in my 29 years of being alive and I don't plan on ever starting. Have I had alcohol before? yes, but never drunk. The Idea of me being out of mind and not knowing how I got home scares me to death. All my friends and family respect me for it as well. On the point of video-editing, I have to say I find the format of your videos remarkably refreshing. Please don't change.
So much content on social media is fast paced, attention grabbing and sanitized to the point of superficiality. Your raw, unedited content feels more like a genuine human conversation and is so much more appealing than most of what appears on my feed. Thanks heaps for your honesty and advice. God bless.

I don't always rush to watch your videos when they come out. I save them for a "moment" when I can completely focus and watch them. Wife and son in bed, dark and quiet house, mute my cell phone. I always learn something, either from your thoughts or stories directly, or in the reflection of my own thoughts after I watch. I appreciate your thoughtfulness, wisdom, and ability to communicate in a simple but direct way. I am going to have my son start watching them as well, hopefully we can both grow as men, with you providing some of the guideposts along the way. Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to Uncle Dewayne, Momma and all the Dry-Creek Wrangler school family, friends and employees.
You've walked into my life at the very end of the year but I certainly do appreciate every bit of time you put into making these videos and how much time I've put into them trying to learn from them. Well wishes and to a successful and happy 2023!

Being genuine is the most important thing in life. In a world of people pretending to be something they are not, be what you were always destined to be. This video and your advice is always appreciated. I am following all your channels now.

I stumbled upon your content here in TH-cam recently and thank God I did! To find people talking honestly about things that matter without that "Mr know it all" way is always good. Thank you for being you, man. May God bless you and the whole family! My best regards all the way from Brazil!

I appreciate this sentiment a lot as a queer dude. Different strokes for different folks, I cant be caught up in what somebody else thinks about it. I've got enough problems just trying to make it through the stuff everybody deals with to worry about what somebody else thinks about how I move through my life. As long as I'm getting better at being comfortable/confident in who I am, that's good enough for me

The 4:00-5:00 minute mark reasonated deeply with me… as somebody constantly worried about what those around me think about me, it prevents me from being able to find out the kind of young man that I truly am. I am working each day mentally to try and find that man.

This is exactly what my wife and I plan to tell our daughters as they get older. Strong, free thinking, self reliant young women. I love all the content you and Mama put out. Speaks to my soul. Merry belated Christmas, hope it was a wonderful one for you and yours.

As a friend I feel obliged to tell you that the mature Christian is reliant on God first, then self/ego, then others.
Is it (the problem or issue) about substantive things like questions of love and truth or morality??
Or is it (the problem or question) more about style or the way something gets done or solved??
I happen to believe that God cares a great deal more about getting the substantive issues right than He does how something gets done or resolved.

    Great video chat!
I'll be 60 in April and I can honestly say that I have always been me since my teens, stood out from the crowd in my own unique style, even amongst my peers. On the very rare occasion that I tried to follow the herd, it didn't feel real or me, thus I went back to my longhaired, bearded biker/mountain man ways, and my spirit feels at peace within.
    Best regards.

this idea is basically my filosofy of life. i bring this with me for a little time, but i'm getting better, i am more happy and see more sense in life. i have 18 years old and i am very proud of me, because a lot of people with my same age don't have this thinking, i feel more mature with this, and i have sure that i am.

The thing I took a long time to learn was that everyone else decided what to do after asking themselves the one question, "What will others think of me of I do such and such."
Seemed like a strange way to make a decision, but it actually helps one to understand everyone else once you realize how they make decisions.

Dewayne, I’ve found most everyone is unique……Good or Bad. So the way you look is really nothing new, you are no more unique than many others. BUT what is SPECIAL with you is your heart. You speak honestly from within and integrity is definitely a character many people lack. I appreciate your knowledge of horses and hope to learn more from your videos on the subject. I’ve not watched TV since 2015 and have actually been searching for the truth in many subjects since 2019. I don’t belong to Twitter or any other social media except for FB. I use that to stay in touch with many. Thank you for your video.

This is a perfect video for me right now. I was born and raised in a highly controlling religious cult that likes to try to shape your personality, likes and dislikes etc. I left a year and half ago but I’m really working on trying to figure out who I really am…my authentic me. And now too, I just turned 30 a few weeks ago and shortly before Jan 1 my wife ended our marriage. So I have come into 2023 feeling kind of lost. Thank you for all the advice. Really appreciate this channel.

Loving the impact you are making in this world. I watched a couple of your videos today and there is something about the way you share your thoughts and teach your audience that caught my attention.
Im a true believer of that one saying “when the student is ready, the master will appear”. I look at these videos and I see a lot of young souls benefiting from your wisdom.
