One thing I like about 10 oz bars is it’s easy to tell how much your paying per oz. say the bar is 309.99 just move the decimal point over to the left one. $30.99/oz.
Awesome. Just don't make the mistake of buying too much too quickly. Don't put yourself in a financial bind buying silver. It takes the fun out of staking when you have to sell part of your stash. Congratulations on owning real money , welcome to the family!
I live on a small Island and therefore my options for selling quickly in an emergency are limited to a couple of LCS's. They are not interested in buying bullion bars, but will scoop up ASE's, silver Maples, etc. in a heartbeat. What you should buy depends on why you are stacking and what resources are available to you.
I learned a big lesson in 2011 when I sold my entire stack. When I started again I went with 100oz bars only and at the time I went with RCM and for the past year pamp Suisse 100 oz bars. When prices go crazy make sure you have a plan especially if you have thousands of ounces because it's not easy selling coins, I'm talking about physically moving them and getting to a dealer was big task and took multiple trips and about 2 weeks. Those of you around during that time know how fast it went down so I had selling prices from $37-47 because it was so hard to get my stuff out of storage and make it to my dealer 1,000 ounces at a time.
Been stacking for a while now and my personal goal was 20oz a week. I'd get $25 constitutional and a few generic rounds. I have never considered anything else until today. This whole time my 20oz was right there in two convenient .999 10oz bars and it never clicked with me. The amount of space I could have been saving and ease of hiding is fantastic. Certainly a new stacking item for me.
You are right about the taxes, we have to pay an extra 20% over here in France on all silver bars... But not on coins, go figure. Just bought a very neat 10 ounce coin ! Thanks for all the videos 😀
I used to have a bunch of 10-ounce bars because they looked like a really nice size for stacking. But ultimately I realized I didn't love them--they were the black sheep of my stack, so I got rid of them. I like 1 ounce rounds a lot more.
It's silver. It's 10 ounces in one piece. Almost every week you can find premium under $1/oz (often .69 cents) deals from the major online dealers. They are perfect "fit in the hand" size. So.....yes, they are good for stacking!
I do like the 10oz bars have a few plan to get more been focusing on the Canadian Mint and the Britannia. Good for price and adding that silver weight saves space, not the greatest for SHTF scenarios but things being normal has advantages. You seem to have good LCS in your area mine not so close and they suck.
In Germany we can avoid the VAT by buying "coin bars". They have a coin stamped on them and are therefore considered currency and not silver bars, even though they are.
We have bought 10 oz Silver bars like yours. We needed money for our dogs accident, and the same place we bought the bar was much lower to sell. So we didn't sell it. We had to find another way to solve our problem. I think we'll purchase coins now. Thanks!
In Australia, it's a bit cheaper to buy 1 kilo bars. Although I bought 8 10 ounce bars online without knowing the brand and the premium wasn't that bad either. It's hard to find American or British bars at a reasonable price though.
Australia for me too, have you tried, bullion now and gold stackers Australia, they've been good to me, big based out of Melbourne, in in a different state but they ship and also have free 3 month vault storage with each purchase if that's your thing
@@richardandre9811 scratch acid test, but even then thats not needed if you take it to someone who's dealt with bars and coins they can usually tell right away.
40oz of silver bars will take up the same volume as 40oz of silver coins. The volume isn't the problem. It's the packaging that takes up additional space.
Thanks, SD. The American Flag and Strategic Reserve Bars are especially great. Thanks for the video. It is a good reminder for everyone, about what you shared. 1. Stick to your Stacking goals. - Nothing wrong with buying and holding 10 Ounce Bars. Any Silver is acceptable, as long as it fits in with your overall Stacking plans. (Every Stacker should have a plan). 2. Everything is Negotiable - The more Silver you are buying, the better the chance of a reduction in Premium. LCS's are like any other business . . . they want yours.
I didn’t even have to watch the video to find out the answer. The thumbnail of your stack of 10 oz silver bars answered it for me. I did leave you a thumbs up tho! 😬
B.E. is selling 100 oz vintage silver bars for 30 cents over spot this weekend. I was seeing a lot of people buying 100 oz silver bars in 2011 when the silver price was rapidly rising. 30 cents under spot for 10 oz silver bars is excellent. Most places pay 50 cents or less under spot. It just depends on what they need.
I love the Scotsdale stackers. In Aus Ainslie Bullion got them to do their stackers. Little higher premium but worth it serialised and anti forgery swirls. Plus they take up even less room!!!!!

You got a better price than I did, if my calculations are correct your 10oz bars at USD $160 = AUD $225. I just (Friday 28th) bought a couple of 10oz bars from the Perth Mint (my home town) for AUD $242. I wanted to buy a tube of 1oz minted bars but they'd run out of those.
Here in NC, there is no sales tax on precious metals, which is nice. I got one of those assay bars as generic as well. When you deal with gun show and reputable flea market dealers, they get whatever they can and sell it. You never know what you'll end up with for the same price. I even know one guy that will knock a couple bucks off if it's not wrapped and tarnished. Speaking of tarnish, that brown stripe is from an elastic band over the vinyl cladding. IDK why, but it makes a chemical reaction like that. Never use a rubber band to hold your bars together or that will happen.
Yes they are unless you order from apmex I ordered a 10 oz Aztec calendar bar it came in a bubble wrap Ziploc baggie I can't even enjoy it I can't even look at it I got to put my gloves on and take it out of the bag to hold it. What a horrible way to send silver to somebody who paid a lot of good money for it. So Misty from apmex that's why I don't order from you guys no more you don't care about your customers. I had to go out and buy a food sealer machine to seal my silver inside so that it won't tarnish apmex don't care about their customers I don't order from them no more

I started stacking silver eagles and recently stopped because the premiums have gone CRAZY as of late. I was looking at silver bars, particularly the 10 ounce size, and this video showed me the physical size of them and you showed they are pretty easy to stack together. Good job! You just earned a new subscriber. 👍
Theres VAT on silver in Denmark but if a dealer sells "used" silver (previously owned) the VAT is only charged based on the difference of buying and selling price of the product. One dealer is now buying generic1 oz coins (ASE, Maple leafs etc) at 5% over spot.
I have some 10oz bars (Britannia, Asahi, RCM bars) They come is the specialty wrapped plastic, I suppose it's 'safe' (?) for long storage? ---or would you use capsules?
At the end of the day you are buying SILVER. I always ask my LCS what is the lowest premium silver they have for sale. ASE are the worst silver you can stack. I treat them no different than generic silver rounds, and would NEVER pay a premium for them. Right now they are commanding $3.50-5 premium, and if you sell you will be LUCKY to get a $1 premium back. A truly awful beating. Buying ASE's now, in this era of extreme premiums, is well just nuts. 10oz. bars are always better.
I've collected 10 oz silver bars but wonder about just going w/1 kilo. The kilo word has a bad boy name & attachment & it's not illegal!! So, I think for every X amount of 10 oz bars I'd consider adding a kilo bar. I like the oldest silver refinery in England & that's it. The 100oz I think is too big & loses its appeal shortly. Other than the 1oz gold bar from the same folks that's the bread & butter. I'll hold cash until I think the prices of commodities, real estate & financial markets correct/crash. Thanks for your video.
It’s pretty close def within like 2 bucks of each other I just really like the way the sunshine 10 oz bars look I think they are beautiful and everyone needs to own at least one
You provide such great insight and I have subscribed to your channel as I am a new silver stacker for decentralized central banking and a currency fiat is looming, so I decided to buy a few scottsdale mint 10 oz and if you think that has a good resale value, I was also wondering if you had any good sources for Royal Canadian Mint bars and if they also have good resale value?
My mom is so cool. She used to work in a bank in the 60s. Whenever some idiot would bring in a silver dollar or Kennedy half dollar she would put the money in her pocket and put .$50 or a dollar from her purse in the till. The books balanced and no law/rule was broken. She literally has a small suitcase of silver (some olympic ones she collected) and a lot of them from the 19th century. Smart lady.
I have the 10 oz royal Canadian mint bar And the 10 oz British Britania. They had a little premium but I enjoy the finish they have . The 10oz Queens beast are amazing too which I paid $180 for but honestly feel the premium was worth it.
I go back and forth on the 10 ouncers. I agree with the ease of storage. I really like some of the 10 ouncers but not a real fan of the generics, at least not until I start melting them! Then they’ll be a staple in my arsenal. Nice informative video. Thanks!
Wow, Nice catch on the Assay bar. I have 2 of the 1oz bars like that. wish I had more! BTW, My Family is mostly from Yamhill, OR. Near McMinville. Regards from Ody Slim
Can you please tell me where you are finding silver with a low premium. The lowest I've ever found is $2 an ounce over spot. I'm here in Oregon and I've hit all the shops I know of from Medford to the Oregon coast.

My Shop is At 34 Dollars an Ounce after Premium 340.00 Dollars per 10 Ounce Bar .
3400.00 Dollars per 100 Ounce Bar .
Great video I always get spot price on Johnson Mathew bars
jeff gulbro i’ll bet you can get much higher than that if you sell online 🔥🐉
yea right.
I love to stack the Silver Eagles even if they have premium. Just bought my first 10oz bar today.
I'm a silver stacker who do I sell my physical silver to when it goes to $50-$1000. I'm new to this thank you Silver Dragon appreciate you ☺
@Joe Time4Change thank you Joe 😀
Is it better to buy from varied distributors or just one? Any recommendations on good sources outside of APMEX, JM Bullion, and SD Bullion?
I have some 10oz bars (Britannia, Asahi, RCM bars) They come is the specialty wrapped plastic, I suppose it's 'safe' (?) for long storage? ---or would you use capsules?
My go to for 10oz Ag is the Germania Mint bars. Also, their 1 kilo bars are very nice, as well.
At the end of the day it's how much weight you've stacked... I'd rather have 150 buffalo rounds vs having 100 American eagles 💯
I like the Royal Canadian Mint 10 oz bars they are about the price as the sunshine mint bars
Silver Fever very cool! if you get them the same price then i’d say that’s a good buy! 🔥🐉
It’s pretty close def within like 2 bucks of each other I just really like the way the sunshine 10 oz bars look I think they are beautiful and everyone needs to own at least one
Hey I live in Oregon as well, anyway of finding out the shop you purchase from or where you recommend going?
You provide such great insight and I have subscribed to your channel as I am a new silver stacker for decentralized central banking and a currency fiat is looming, so I decided to buy a few scottsdale mint 10 oz and if you think that has a good resale value, I was also wondering if you had any good sources for Royal Canadian Mint bars and if they also have good resale value?
Cool bars my friend. I have only one 10oz bar and two 10oz Dragon coins. Thanks for the show.
Alexander R De Voogt thanks and 10 ounce dragon coins 😮 that is awesome 🔥🐉
M- Nice yeah those are all beautiful and great for collecting! 🔥🐉
I go back and forth on the 10 ouncers. I agree with the ease of storage. I really like some of the 10 ouncers but not a real fan of the generics, at least not until I start melting them! Then they’ll be a staple in my arsenal. Nice informative video. Thanks!
Silver Bugle lol they are the best to melt 😂🔥🐉
They make great self defense weapons as well. A 10ozt bar in a sock = KTFO.
Wow, Nice catch on the Assay bar. I have 2 of the 1oz bars like that. wish I had more!
BTW, My Family is mostly from Yamhill, OR. Near McMinville. Regards from Ody Slim
Ody Slim oh very cool! Oregon rocks 👍🏽 that is a beautiful area for sure 🔥🐉
Can you please tell me where you are finding silver with a low premium. The lowest I've ever found is $2 an ounce over spot. I'm here in Oregon and I've hit all the shops I know of from Medford to the Oregon coast.
$2 over spot is great these days
Im stacking 1s and 5s now. Hope im doing good. New at this
Do you test all of these to make sure that they're not fake? And how do you go about doing it exactly?
Bart Hamburg weigh them and measure them. also when I cut them up to melt them it will be obvious if they are fake 🔥🐉
Buy from a local coin shop. They don't stay in business by selling fake silver.
Plus it's cheaper to buy a 10 oz bar than 10 1oz rounds
