The two lead characters "Ram" and "Laxman" shared good chemistry and bond as brothers. The female lead looks pretty in a saree and had great chemistry with "Ram". Villain's look in the 2nd half was odd. Overall "Main Hoon Na" was a full on paisa vasool movie
The Japanese director Yugo Sako Ji deserves the highest honour and respect for his contribution towards the culture. He came know about the epic 40 years ago and he started doing in-depth research on it. Not only this, he read 10 versions of Ramayana in Japanese language for many years. He spent months researching the narrative, architectural aspects, meeting with academics, archaeologists, and historians etc. He was very careful and loyal to the source material. Imagine being a foreigner coming to India and reading, researching about these epics and making an animated version of it took seer amount of hardwork, patience and persistence for many years.....which some of the Indian director can never be. It is clear that Adipurush makers took the project very lightly & rather than accepting their mistakes they are hiding it through different religious and marketing tools & strategies. P.S - The movie was produced by Sako and co-directed by Sako, Koichi Sasaki & the Iconic Indian animation artist Ram Mohan Ji. It was collective effort of both Indian and Japanese animators that went into creating the magnum opus. Ram Mohan (26 August 1931 - 11 October 2019) was an Indian animator, title designer and design educator, who was also known as Father of Indian Animation. He was also responsible for the spread of animation in India.

I really felt bad that the film had to face the protest and backlash from certain Indians( or organization) back then along with Indian government not backing up the project claiming that Epic like Ramayana shouldn't be portrayed as 'cartoon'. So a Japanese production house then backed up the project. Because of such notions why we can't get great production houses collaboring with us anymore and we keep producing sh*t products. We deserved it in a way!

People should really start appreciating Ra-One. What it achieved a decade ago with special effects is still not matched by many movies. And it did have a decent plot. Underrated and way ahead of it's time

Imagine if Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph had this 500 crore budget. In an interview he said, he wasn't able to do much with his movie on 20 crore budget. But i think it was very well done for that budget. 😊

When the Ramayan TV series was telecast in 1987 every Sunday morning, BBC recalled, "streets would be deserted, shops would be closed and people would bathe and garland their TV sets before the serial began". That's the impact that Ramyan had. Everyone watched it irrespective of cast, culture or religion. This movie is not even a shadow of that masterpiece.
I agree with you, Ramanad Sagar's Ramayana was ahead of it's time. The story, visuals and even the character development were awesome, and source material was rich.
First of all Vanar Sena doesn't mean Chimpanzees or Gorillas.. They mean Van:Forest,Nar:Man.. Why the hell Ravan is riding a Dracula? Where is His Pushpaka Vimana?Where is his Golden Lanka? Why Ram wears orange baniyan? Why Ram, Laxman has moustache?
The animated Ramayan made by Yugo Sako remains timeless to this day due to it's breathtaking animation, voice talent and music. This I feel is already feeling like a dated movie in comparison

They should re-release Yogo Sako's "Ramayana - The Legend of Prince Rama" in 4k in Theatres..loved the anime approach to it anf Yugo Sako's dedication towards his work and the culture he is representing is unparalleled..we all grewup watching it in Cartoon Network..and surprisingly it was banned in India by so-called bhakts only to get this abomination decades later. Love from Bangladesh.
When you realize that Pal Pal Hai Bhari song from Swades (2004) had a much better represenation of Ramayana than 600 cr Adipurush. Gayatri Joshi as Ma Sita ❤ The fact that Bhediya, ZERO, Ra One, Fan, Paheli, Pathaan, Don 2, Happy New Year, Enthiran, 2.0, 24 (Tamil), RRR, Bahubali 2, Eega, Brahmastra, Vishwaroopam had much better visuals, cgi and vfx on lesser budget than Adipurush 😂

Few things which could have make a huge diffrence in this movie: Prabhas without moustache, and may be a bit less muscular. Shoot in real life location rather than using VFX in every frame Focus on rich hindi dialogues, TERI BUA KA GHAR...WTF, Thank God their characters are not abusing each other. Make it in two parts at least and provide more detailing
Agree with all your points except the one where you say 2 parts.... Ramayan story is actually boring compared to Mahabharata and doesn't need 2 parts.... A crisp 2 hr movie can effectively cover all aspects.... even here in Adipurush I actually sleepy and bored by the last 30 mins.... The whole story is shown in first half only, with nothing remaining in second half except one huge ass war scene which felt so stretched out without proper scene continuity or scene geography.... Yrs Prabhas had huge moustache with no beard, a terrible decision.... Rather make him completely clean shaved or have both beard and mustache but slightly trimmed so that moustache doesn't cover lips.... Having light beard + moustache would have worked wonders.... Even though 5-10 yrs back Prabhas was younger and had the best looks for this character

When Japan had more respect to the source material and created one of the best pieces of art. It just boggles my mind on how we are failing to do so. Funny how the Indian government said that ramayan should not be in cartoon format and allowed to make this abomination.
It's cause Yugo Sako (the creator) of Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Ram understood the task. He literally spent many years researching on Ramayan. He made several trips to India to understand all about Ramayan. But in case of Adipurush if I may say the makers were only thinking about minting money! Casting Prabhas as Sri Ram was the worst decision ever. Prabhas is a misfit! And why spend so much money on VFX if you wanted to show the legendary battle between Sri Ram and Raavan in the dark?!

I remember, as a child, I'd run home from school to watch 'Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama' anime by Yugo Sako. I loved it so much and used to watch always with my brother. When my malayalam literature teachers read and explain portions of Ramayana from the syllabus, I'd always have very vivid imaginations of how Ram would be, how he loved Sitha, how loyal they were, how brotherly was Lakshman and how trustful was Hanuman. This epic blew my little mind anytime I came across it, the anime also contributed to the pleasant visuals that go through my mind when ever I read or hear it. But sadly, this movie (may be I have high expectations of the Epic) doesn't feel like it did justice. Unlike from my childhood memories, it seemed dark, Ram is portrayed less calm, Ravan is a caricature, the Vanar sena has apes from another continent.. I wish some visionary director and crew with a rightful mind make an authentic representation of Ramayana. Thank you.
Such a shame! When a movie gets bad reviews from all corners, your first thoughts are of just avoiding watching it. However, this one was so close to the heart that the final outcome makes a lot of us go through actual heartache. Ramayan deserves better, we as the audience deserve better - especially in times when the true tale of Ramayan needs to be brought to the masses in all its glory of simplicity.

I have only read ‘Shiva Trilogy’ by Amish and I’m still waiting for a movie adaptation of that series.. I also read ‘Ravana’ a little bit but left off in the middle! These would really make good movies if properly adapted and it atleast it would be way better than this horse shit they call ‘Adipurush’!!
TBH this is definitely the most VFX heavy movie ever made in India RRR, Bahubali & Brahmastra.....neither of these have as many VFX shots & CGI characters as Adipurush But opting for shooting the entire movie on green screen instead of real locations with real characters was definitely a stupid move by a stupid director, & so was the decision to make it in 3D I can understand that the Vaanar sena needed to be CGI, but the Rakshasa sena & background locations could've been real
@@anantsharma6365 True that. But then the scale they were going after required a much bigger budget. They shot the entire film on green screen and to pull off something like that with CGI animals and other things, they needed at least 2x the budget they claim to have spent. Ideally, this required an Avatar or Marvel level budget or probably a little less considering it was made in India -- I'd say around 2000 cr. Since they didn't have that kind of budget the makers should have shot on location with sets, makeup, and practical effects with some animation and CGI.

But this movie has shat on all aspects, be it casting, storytelling, screenplay, & most importantly the research & genuine efforts required for a project of this scale & significance. Cannot agree more. Absolutely went with an open mind, forgot everything that has happened with this movie so far. The bad part is, that we came back empty handed. There’s nothing to remember about. The only thing that stood out was Saif Ali Khan’s performance. He tried his best to justify Lankesh. Finally… why Om why? Money can’t buy everything and you have proved that.
Still don't understand the fact that why they have to involve CGI in almost all the scenes. They should have understood the fact that why Ramanad Sagar's Ramayan and Mahabharat were epic. It's because they kept it simple and they involved CGI only when it was required.

I remember there was a TV show 'Siya Ke Ram' and I really loved it. It was just very lovingly done. With all the actors doing an incredible job, even if the VFX wasn't great.

I see Prabhas as an Larger than life Star, bigger the movie , his presence enhances it ever more, Bahubali as much as it’s a genius work by Rajamouli and no offense to Team Bahubali but it was Prabhas that was next level, Perhaps makers didn’t realize that? Was very much looking forward to this simply based on my childhood memories but looks like TV classic still reigns supreme.
Sad that such an opportunity today with the cutting edge tech, Indian Cinema couldn't do justice to one of it's mighty mythology. Tech vs Story-telling i.e. Ramanand Sagar vs Om Raut. They could have just copied the Yugo Sako version for screenplay adn action. Clearly the money spent on the actors more than the Technicians shows. Stars should take in the money after they prove their worht at the box-office after every release is the right way to go. Before partition India was the only country where Urdu was spoken. In Pakistan also Urdu is not a major language as Pakistan has many languages like India. But in Pakistan more people speak Panjabi than Urdu.
In my opinion, one major factor that should be addressed and considered while creating the Ramayana is that the battle is not its end. The essence of the Ramayana lies not only in the clash between good Vs evil but also in the profound exploration of a king's duty and ill mentality of Praja which compels Sita to leave Earth.

After bahubali.. my only wish was to watch prabhas as shree ram, but not this way.. In RRR ram charan's last scene as shree ram gave me more goosebumps than this movie Anyway that's clear no one can portray his actors in the best way than ss Rajamouli (om rout couldn't do justice to Ramayan)
In RRR Ram Charan was not portraying Shri Ram. He was portraying Alluri Sitaramaraju who was a freedom fighter against the British empire. They are not the same Ram.

I actually physically felt a peace and relief going through my body that Ramayan snapshots came after being at a constant state of cringe at the horrible videogame like snapshots of Adipurush throughout the video till 7:46 Even the images/painting of the original print felt like a relief.

We don't have the budget of GoT, MCU, even then the story is too massive to be put to film with the kind of visuals we expect. There are greater retellings, the original series, the Indo-Japanese one. I just think that the whole, present day retelling just is a waste of money, when we already have good originals. And it never works. So there is that as well. I would rather have something like Mahabharat adapted in the Rajneeti way, than projects like Adipurush

Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan started the trend of mythological shows in Indian Television. Jr. NTR's Bala Ramayanam is a masterpiece in every shape and form and it deserved National Award. Whereas Adipurush will be remembered as a biggest joke Om Raut did on his investors.
In Nepal's Kathmandu Meteropolitan city, Our mayor Balen shah has rejected to show this film in any theaters because Of this line `Janaki is a hindu daughter' in the film, It is clearly mentioned in the Ramayana that Janaki was the daughter from Janak from Nepal. In Nepal We even view Janak and Sita as our national luminary. There is even a place in Dhanusha district, Janakpur which is the home of Janaki Temple. We nepalese are very upset from this film.
The producers played a religion card while saying to save a seat for lord Hanuman, so that people can share it on social media by saying how much South Indian people respect religion and so does promote the movie.. The movie is so good that people will leave seats for the whole vanar sena...😢

@@Samir12357 it is a banger crew, all the actors have shown their acting prowess before in the hands of different directors, the problem with adipurush comes down to screenplay, direction, and VFX direction which is it's own department under the director. You can blame the producers also because if they wanted to dedicate more budget to VFX then they should've hired someone else. It's not Prabhas's fault. Hiring choice and the vision of the movie is in the hands of producers, directors, and writers.
Those few minutes of Ramcharan in Ram's attire in RRR is more true to Ramayana than this whole movie. I'm convinced that the director was high the whole time while working on this film. SS Rajamouli, with a far less budget would have made an astronomically better film than this. Saif Ali Khan looks so good in that abduction scene. It's a shame that the creative choices made by others around him made Raavana into a hipster. It could have been an iconic performance. Alas! We'll never know.

My jaw dropped the moment his silhouette appeared. I was hooked for entire sequence. Director's convection matters.
Sampoorna Raamyanam (Telugu) is faaaaaar better than Adipurush even with almost no vfx and limited resources. It's available on TH-cam and is very much underrated(outside the Telugu states). The background score and music of Sampoorna Ramayanam are top-notch. You'll enjoy the songs especially if you understand Telugu. I would highly recommend you watch it instead of Adipurush.

It's not only a legend of Ganga Valley civilization; but also an important scripture in Hinduism and lord Rama is a deity and I think we still have 75%+Hindusin India, from North to South. I think it's a lame excuse to say that the makers could not cover the most of the keypoints on epic in 3 hours. Legend of prince Rama was 2 and half hours and it covered every important aspect.
They should have casted Ravan from South. My suggestion is Vikram. Just look at him in Ponniyin selvan. How Royal he looks. And to show the Demonic side look at the character of Vikram from his Film Ravanan!. Vikram literally has that voice too. He suits 1000 times better than saif who looks like a turkish guy. Even Prabhas would have been a better choice as Ravan. I mean look at him in this movie. Prabhas who did Bahubali maybe apt for Ram. He had this calmness in his face. But sadly he don't have that charm on his face.
When teaser faced criticism they hide behind Ram and made a campaign PR that simply conveys that how can you criticise Ram & Ramayan. Prabhas can be casted as Karna in Mahabharat rather than Ram. He was casted simply to make pan india film. Om Raut made Raavan look like Maulana type. If you make film on such subject, expectations are going to be high. @MD SOHAIL yes...Prabhas definitely looks like a warrior but from what I have read karna has been described as someone very fair and with glowing complexion since he was lord surya's son. Prabhas or Vidyut don't fit into that. They look good but don't fit into how karna is described usually.

Very honest review. I for once thought of watching the movie after Ram Siya Ram Bhajan which i loved (though lyrics could have really been better with unnecessary dhum tan ana dhum tanna added) but now going by the dialogues, i really think it's abysmal and outrageous!!! Am amazed to see the level of the dialogues! So low! I won't be going to watch this movie now. No one can ever make Ramayan or do justice with it the way Mr Ramanand Sagar did...
I remember reading somewhere that Yugo Sako wanted his adaption to be made as anime because live action wouldn't be able to do justice to this epic. I can clearly see what he meant now. There won't be a better adaption than Yugo sako's adaption.

Its a once in a life moment for any director to direct epics like ramayan.. I am not mad on makers for creating a mess of a movie. But iam furious about the opportunity that they lost, that too backed up by a big production company and with a stellar cast.. Massively dissapointed.. And damnn Ajay-Atul gave their heart and soul man.. Disheartening to see the efforts by makers were not even merely met as of their Music.. Massive respect to the duo..
Ram charan looked better as Ram in RRR than Prabhas... RC had the right kind of non agreesive but still generating fear in enemies kind of expressions. Prabhas looks way too aggressive to portray Ram...

Galat hai... Total budget was more than 700 crores...there was definitely a case of corruption behind the scenes. Its unbelievable that this movie is a product of 700 crores..
Production budget must be somewhere around 350 -400crs .not all the remuneration is paid prior . Only 20 to 30% is paid. Rest is either paid after the release or from the profits . First what they lack is conviction. Rajamouli with just 100crs budget would have made a exception masterpiece out of that ramayana . I think t series must have spent only around 100crs on the money but promote it as big budget movie for the hype .They want to cash in on prabhas stardom and peoples Devotion towards Ramayan to make money instead of making a captivating movie .
I don't understand why they had to make everything look so dark and gloomy. It doesn't even look like lanka. Seems like the set of game of thrones. Was expecting to see the night king with his white walkers appear instead of Ravan. The casting is the worst decision ever. Should have just casted some new faces. As much as I like Prabhas he is a little old to play Ram.
I feel a story like this could've made justice and better impact if it was made into webseries. Every character would've got their due respect. Also casting was off! No i don't want rama who looks like Ravana. What were the producers and cast thinking? Didnt they know thats the most vital thing?
Some action adventure games that are more that 10 years are having cut scenes, hell even actual gameplay that are lightyears better than what they have done. You were ryt from the beginning the makers didn't put their heart in the project, they thought they don't have to put much effort, the name and the story on which its based on is enough to get people watch it and moreover also love their creation(Did it worked? I guess so till some extent). Audience like us will have to wait much more for someone to genuinely recreate these epic which has huge potential to be a treat to our eyes and senses.

The two lead characters "Ram" and "Laxman" shared good chemistry and bond as brothers. The female lead looks pretty in a saree and had great chemistry with "Ram". Villain's look in the 2nd half was odd. Overall "Main Hoon Na" was a full on paisa vasool movie

The Japanese director Yugo Sako Ji deserves the highest honour and respect for his contribution towards the culture. He came know about the epic 40 years ago and he started doing in-depth research on it. Not only this, he read 10 versions of Ramayana in Japanese language for many years. He spent months researching the narrative, architectural aspects, meeting with academics, archaeologists, and historians etc. He was very careful and loyal to the source material. Imagine being a foreigner coming to India and reading, researching about these epics and making an animated version of it took seer amount of hardwork, patience and persistence for many years.....which some of the Indian director can never be.
It is clear that Adipurush makers took the project very lightly & rather than accepting their mistakes they are hiding it through different religious and marketing tools & strategies.
P.S - The movie was produced by Sako and co-directed by Sako, Koichi Sasaki & the Iconic Indian animation artist Ram Mohan Ji. It was collective effort of both Indian and Japanese animators that went into creating the magnum opus. Ram Mohan (26 August 1931 - 11 October 2019) was an Indian animator, title designer and design educator, who was also known as Father of Indian Animation.
He was also responsible for the spread of animation in India.
It was the collective effort of him and our Indian animator Ram Mohan sir. I'm surprised nobody is talking about him.

Ramayan: The Legend of Prince Ram anime is a classic.
I really felt bad that the film had to face the protest and backlash from certain Indians( or organization) back then along with Indian government not backing up the project claiming that Epic like Ramayana shouldn't be portrayed as 'cartoon'. So a Japanese production house then backed up the project.
Because of such notions why we can't get great production houses collaboring with us anymore and we keep producing sh*t products. We deserved it in a way!

That's the impact that Ramyan had. Everyone watched it irrespective of cast, culture or religion. This movie is not even a shadow of that masterpiece.

Few things which could have make a huge diffrence in this movie:
Prabhas without moustache, and may be a bit less muscular.
Shoot in real life location rather than using VFX in every frame
Focus on rich hindi dialogues, TERI BUA KA GHAR...WTF, Thank God their characters are not abusing each other.
Make it in two parts at least and provide more detailing

A crisp 2 hr movie can effectively cover all aspects.... even here in Adipurush I actually sleepy and bored by the last 30 mins.... The whole story is shown in first half only, with nothing remaining in second half except one huge ass war scene which felt so stretched out without proper scene continuity or scene geography....
Yrs Prabhas had huge moustache with no beard, a terrible decision.... Rather make him completely clean shaved or have both beard and mustache but slightly trimmed so that moustache doesn't cover lips.... Having light beard + moustache would have worked wonders.... Even though 5-10 yrs back Prabhas was younger and had the best looks for this character

Its about RAm, Sita Hanuman..We as a nation have emotioanl connect with them. Anyway one more thing, movie making is art of story telling, a so called boring story can be told in a very captivating way and vice versa...

When Japan had more respect to the source material and created one of the best pieces of art. It just boggles my mind on how we are failing to do so. Funny how the Indian government said that ramayan should not be in cartoon format and allowed to make this abomination.
It's cause Yugo Sako (the creator) of Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Ram understood the task. He literally spent many years researching on Ramayan. He made several trips to India to understand all about Ramayan. But in case of Adipurush if I may say the makers were only thinking about minting money! Casting Prabhas as Sri Ram was the worst decision ever. Prabhas is a misfit! And why spend so much money on VFX if you wanted to show the legendary battle between Sri Ram and Raavan in the dark?!

I remember, as a child, I'd run home from school to watch 'Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama' anime by Yugo Sako. I loved it so much and used to watch always with my brother. When my malayalam literature teachers read and explain portions of Ramayana from the syllabus, I'd always have very vivid imaginations of how Ram would be, how he loved Sitha, how loyal they were, how brotherly was Lakshman and how trustful was Hanuman. This epic blew my little mind anytime I came across it, the anime also contributed to the pleasant visuals that go through my mind when ever I read or hear it. But sadly, this movie (may be I have high expectations of the Epic) doesn't feel like it did justice. Unlike from my childhood memories, it seemed dark, Ram is portrayed less calm, Ravan is a caricature, the Vanar sena has apes from another continent.. I wish some visionary director and crew with a rightful mind make an authentic representation of Ramayana. Thank you.
Such a shame! When a movie gets bad reviews from all corners, your first thoughts are of just avoiding watching it. However, this one was so close to the heart that the final outcome makes a lot of us go through actual heartache.
Ramayan deserves better, we as the audience deserve better - especially in times when the true tale of Ramayan needs to be brought to the masses in all its glory of simplicity.
The adaptation of Ramayana by Amish is totally fresh and relatable to the generations.. One should try to visualize that on a big screen🙏

But opting for shooting the entire movie on green screen instead of real locations with real characters was definitely a stupid move by a stupid director, & so was the decision to make it in 3D
I can understand that the Vaanar sena needed to be CGI, but the Rakshasa sena & background locations could've been real
@@anantsharma6365 True that. But then the scale they were going after required a much bigger budget. They shot the entire film on green screen and to pull off something like that with CGI animals and other things, they needed at least 2x the budget they claim to have spent. Ideally, this required an Avatar or Marvel level budget or probably a little less considering it was made in India -- I'd say around 2000 cr. Since they didn't have that kind of budget the makers should have shot on location with sets, makeup, and practical effects with some animation and CGI.

But this movie has shat on all aspects, be it casting, storytelling, screenplay, & most importantly the research & genuine efforts required for a project of this scale & significance. Cannot agree more. Absolutely went with an open mind, forgot everything that has happened with this movie so far. The bad part is, that we came back empty handed. There’s nothing to remember about. The only thing that stood out was Saif Ali Khan’s performance. He tried his best to justify Lankesh.

The 90s indo-japanese animated Ramayan is the best adaptation for me. It is faithful, has great songs and has the action that the serial lacks.

I remember there was a TV show 'Siya Ke Ram' and I really loved it. It was just very lovingly done. With all the actors doing an incredible job, even if the VFX wasn't great.

An Epic that’s revered by 80% of India and 100% Educated on the subject via a classic TV series, Going by your review and the Teaser, Perhaps the makers failed to imagine the sheer canvas this movie could have had, perhaps the movie could have been a 2 part project? I see Prabhas as an Larger than life Star, bigger the movie , his presence enhances it ever more, Bahubali as much as it’s a genius work by Rajamouli and no offense to Team Bahubali but it was Prabhas that was next level, Perhaps makers didn’t realize that? Was very much looking forward to this simply based on my childhood memories but looks like TV classic still reigns supreme.
Om raut wrote these scenes in his childhood and felt proud about himself in those days. 😬
Sad that such an opportunity today with the cutting edge tech, Indian Cinema couldn't do justice to one of it's mighty mythology. Tech vs Story-telling i.e. Ramanand Sagar vs Om Raut. They could have just copied the Yugo Sako version for screenplay adn action. Clearly the money spent on the actors more than the Technicians shows. Stars should take in the money after they prove their worht at the box-office after every release is the right way to go. Even a Rajnikant, Chiranjeevi or Amitabh Bachchan have bowed down out after their debacles, other actors should learn from that. Really really hoping #NiteshTiwari can blow this out of the water and others also give it a shot with #Ramayan or #Mahabharat

In my opinion, one major factor that should be addressed and considered while creating the Ramayana is that the battle is not its end. The essence of the Ramayana lies not only in the clash between good Vs evil but also in the profound exploration of a king's duty and ill mentality of Praja which compels Sita to leave Earth.

In RRR Ram Charan was not portraying Shri Ram. He was portraying Alluri Sitaramaraju who was a freedom fighter against the British empire. They are not the same Ram.
Why are people obsessed with seeing Body builders as Sri Ram. Prabhas has no charisma to match the personality of Valmiki Ram.

I actually physically felt a peace and relief going through my body that Ramayan snapshots came after being at a constant state of cringe at the horrible videogame like snapshots of Adipurush throughout the video till 7:46

There are greater retellings, the original series, the Indo-Japanese one. I just think that the whole, present day retelling just is a waste of money, when we already have good originals. And it never works. So there is that as well.

Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan started the trend of mythological shows in Indian Television. Jr. NTR's Bala Ramayanam is a masterpiece in every shape and form and it deserved National Award. Whereas Adipurush will be remembered as a biggest joke Om Raut did on his investors.
In Nepal's Kathmandu Meteropolitan city, Our mayor Balen shah has rejected to show this film in any theaters because Of this line `Janaki is a hindu daughter' in the film, It is clearly mentioned in the Ramayana that Janaki was the daughter from Janak from Nepal.
In Nepal We even view Janak and Sita as our national luminary. There is even a place in Dhanusha district, Janakpur which is the home of Janaki Temple. We nepalese are very upset from this film.

@@Samir12357 it is a banger crew, all the actors have shown their acting prowess before in the hands of different directors, the problem with adipurush comes down to screenplay, direction, and VFX direction which is it's own department under the director. You can blame the producers also because if they wanted to dedicate more budget to VFX then they should've hired someone else. It's not Prabhas's fault. Hiring choice and the vision of the movie is in the hands of producers, directors, and writers.
Those few minutes of Ramcharan in Ram's attire in RRR is more true to Ramayana than this whole movie.
I'm convinced that the director was high the whole time while working on this film.
SS Rajamouli, with a far less budget would have made an astronomically better film than this.
Saif Ali Khan looks so good in that abduction scene. It's a shame that the creative choices made by others around him made Raavana into a hipster. It could have been an iconic performance. Alas! We'll never know.

Ram Charan's look in RRR definitely the best depiction of Lord Ram. My jaw dropped the moment his silhouette appeared. I was hooked for entire sequence. Director's convection matters.

Sampoorna Raamyanam (Telugu) is faaaaaar better than Adipurush even with almost no vfx and limited resources. It's available on TH-cam and is very much underrated(outside the Telugu states). The background score and music of Sampoorna Ramayanam are top-notch. You'll enjoy the songs especially if you understand Telugu. I would highly recommend you watch it instead of Adipurush.

I think it's a lame excuse to say that the makers could not cover the most of the keypoints on epic in 3 hours.
Legend of prince Rama was 2 and half hours and it covered every important aspect.
They should have casted Ravan from South. My suggestion is Vikram. Just look at him in Ponniyin selvan. How Royal he looks. And to show the Demonic side look at the character of Vikram from his Film Ravanan!. Vikram literally has that voice too. He suits 1000 times better than saif who looks like a turkish guy. Even Prabhas would have been a better choice as Ravan. I mean look at him in this movie. Prabhas who did Bahubali maybe apt for Ram. He had this calmness in his face. But sadly he don't have that charm on his face.

I for once thought of watching the movie after Ram Siya Ram Bhajan which i loved (though lyrics could have really been better with unnecessary dhum tan ana dhum tanna added) but now going by the dialogues, i really think it's abysmal and outrageous!!! Am amazed to see the level of the dialogues! So low! I won't be going to watch this movie now. No one can ever make Ramayan or do justice with it the way Mr Ramanand Sagar did...

I remember reading somewhere that Yugo Sako wanted his adaption to be made as anime because live action wouldn't be able to do justice to this epic. I can clearly see what he meant now. There won't be a better adaption than Yugo sako's adaption.
I think its a monumental task to translate the battles of Bali and Sugreev and the vanar sena in a live action film. It communicates so much better in an anime

Galat hai... Total budget was more than 700 crores...there was definitely a case of corruption behind the scenes. Its unbelievable that this movie is a product of 700 crores..
Production budget must be somewhere around 350 -400crs .not all the remuneration is paid prior . Only 20 to 30% is paid. Rest is either paid after the release or from the profits . First what they lack is conviction. Rajamouli with just 100crs budget would have made a exception masterpiece out of that ramayana . I think t series must have spent only around 100crs on the money but promote it as big budget movie for the hype .They want to cash in on prabhas stardom and peoples Devotion towards Ramayan to make money instead of making a captivating movie .
I don't understand why they had to make everything look so dark and gloomy. It doesn't even look like lanka. Seems like the set of game of thrones. Was expecting to see the night king with his white walkers appear instead of Ravan.

Why do these people take up such huge projects when they don't have the capability or strength to show it in the right perspective.
Some action adventure games that are more that 10 years are having cut scenes, hell even actual gameplay that are lightyears better than what they have done. You were ryt from the beginning the makers didn't put their heart in the project, they thought they don't have to put much effort, the name and the story on which its based on is enough to get people watch it and moreover also love their creation(Did it worked? I guess so till some extent). Audience like us will have to wait much more for someone to genuinely recreate these epic which has huge potential to be a treat to our eyes and senses.
