This small teaser made me realize how much hardwork, effort Ramanand Sagar and his team put in order to create a masterpiece like Ramayan. Despite lacking the technologies which is available today, they made the set, the craft look real. VFX made Adipurush look like a animated movie, just made to glamorize Ramayan to attract audience, lacking any sort of touch from a real history book.
It would good teaser.there is three months time to realese movie this just teaser only wait for the trailer 💥💥🤙 and movie in theatre definitely Goosebumps...our pride ramayan 🙏jai shree ram 🙏

The Yugo Sako Ramayan is, to date, one of my favourite animated movies. I grew up admiring that movie and its animation and always hoped that India would one day be able to recreate it in live action. After seeing how much hardwork Ayan Mukherjee put in his movie's vfx, I want Indian directors to take notes and put that money and effort into refining their works. I mean, if you're going to use so much vfx, then for the love of god, do it well. This teaser just made me feel uncomfortable. I cannot put into words how dissappointed I am right now. In just one teaser, this upcoming movie has given the child inside me a gut wrenching feeling. Honestly, It feels like an insult.
The problem is the Actors, they charge so much fees , that there is not much left for money to be used for VFX , Actors should take a paycut to make the movie good like Hollywood. Look at Brahmastra, even if you combine all the fees of all actors , it would be 100 crore. But Prabas alone took some 100-150 crore
@@subojithaldar7879 true. I feel like there should be a limit at actors pay. The blind fees of actors is one of the reasons why such ambitious projects suffer.
Too bad they were about to make Mahabharat but certain Indian agency/corporation warned them saying that foreigners shouldn't make adaptations of Hindu epics.
The legend of Prince Ram from 1992 was the perfect mixture of cultures, a centuries old story from India with class leading direction of animated story telling from Japan. The fact that movie still holds up as one of the best depictions of this epic 30 years after it's release and the fact that this teaser fails humongously in doing the same is actually mind blowing. Ravana was not just a devil. Ravana was the great grandson of Brahma himself. He had his serious flaws, but his character as shown by Saif Ali Khan is a caricature of the real Ravana. Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Ram (1992) is hands down one of the best collaborations if not the best. The animation had the elements of 90s anime while being respectful of the mythology. I remember having an absolute blast watching this movie as a kid.
It reminded me of what Aamir said about Mahabharat that Mahabharat won't let you down but they as creators might let Mahabharat down and that is exactly what has happened here, they've let Ramayan down! As a child i watched the Japanese Ramayan... and absolutely loved it. It looks like a remake of that. And that doesnt seem a false assumption since the wiki page says that Om Raut was fascinated and inspired by that.
There were protests back in the day saying foreigner should not be given the rights to vandalize our cultural story like this and amrish puri stood for the film saying an interpretation isn't harmful if done right . Bryan Cranston voiced ram . The epicness of such a anime type of movie doesn't get more awesome than this
I think Om Raut got lucky with Tanhaji. He is excellent when the stories are grounded in nature like the Lokmanya biopic. Tanhaji worked well because it still had practical elements to some extent and little to no fantasy elements.
Absolutely correct whenever Tanaji (the movie) tried to be more VFX heavy like that final horse sequence it was stupidly hilarious and utterly unconvincing

Only SS. Rajamouli and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are capable of handling a narrative, stars, emotions, and VFX. Literally no one can match these illustrious directors. I wonder what would have happened to our Indian industry without Rajamouli.
Rajamouli said this in an interview about an advice he got from one of the best vfx artist - “It is best to get as much as you can from real location and props then rest can be enhanced by vfx” This applies for this teaser aptly.
Whether you like Ayan Mukherjee or not but that guy spend 9 years of his career just to make vfx more realistic and it paid off , Brahmastra has one of the best vfx seen by Indian cinema. They could have given the vfx work to red chilles there vfx works are great too.

Maniratnam did a good job being honest to the book of Ponniyin Selvan by not adding random elements that were not in the book. They should have been similarly honest to the epic rather than adding random stuff. Only by being honest in the movie we can capture the soul of the epic.
Looking at this, I realized that the animated movie, "Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama" was miles ahead in the way it was made. Despite being made by the Japanese Animators, they did extensive research by hiring Indian Consultants to get the costume, facial designs, and even the fact of the hairstyle with the tied up, uncut hair of a sanyasi. Also, the "vanara sena" despite being modeled on great apes, had human characteristics, which was far better than this trailer. And the attention to detail in the animation was so much, that when Lord Hanuman was flying towards the Himalayas in a rainstorm, they took care to animate even the water sprites of the raindrops falling and flowing across his fur, which was truly a great attention to detail. Not to mention, the casting (for the Hindi version) was brilliant. The Late Amrish Puri sir OWNED the character of Ravana, with his deep voice, which elicits a level of aggression, which is near impossible to do again. And do not forget, they did all this in 1993, when computer generated VFX were still in its infancy, and that looked more realistic and down to earth than this trailer.
Kochadaiyaan+Chotta Bheem = Adipurush This shows that you need a good executor and a proper vfx team. Just giving them an insane budget also implies to spending it precisely... As a malayali, (don't get me wrong) my respect for Marakkar has increased surprisingly... Animation was so cartoonish that I was not expecting like this shit..... RRR, Ponniyin Selvan and Baahubali are all movies which used the insane budget to its full use and made the films worth it. As a Christian, I was a huge fan of the epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata. The old Ramayana Indo-Japanese TV Series was my favourite one.... I saw it on the computers when I was 4-5 years old... Well I feel Marakkar > Brahmastra > Adipurush is the correct order in terms of VFX Supremacy. N.B. Not comparing RRR and others because they are already insane and big budget films at its best in terms of vfx and technical aspects
i dont know why people bring up kochadaiyan here. Either they dont understand the difference or volunterly want to mock kochadaiyan. Kochadaiyan is a full length animation feauturette. From this trailer, one thing is clear. If a movie on Mahabharat is to be made, It must must be directed by SS Rajamouli. No one captures the epic moments in Hindu mythology better than him. He always adds little bit of Sanskrit perfection in his movies. In movies like RRR and Bahubali he captured such epic moments beautifully. Massive respect to SRK, Ayan & their team for believing in such risky projects and paving the path for other VFX led movies. I know storylines for their respective movies were just average at best but for 'Adipurush' I really had high expectations as I thought all they had to do was adapt a timeless classic and with the given budget, score atleast a 8.5 to 9/10 on the special effects part, and what they released the other day is an utter disappointment...
One point that is missed while discussing Shri Ramayan is about the core concept of Shri Ramayan which is compassion (Karuna bhaav) . Karuna bhaav was seen in every sub story and in every character of Shri Ramayan. TV serial depicted it quite beautifully with long conversations between characters and use of shlokas/songs sung by Ravindra Jain that were so meaningful. I remember people singing the song in group like a folk . Currently , it looks the focus has been shifted to how the VFX should be or how grand the Movie should be made (large army , weapons, sky, giant personalities) but looks like compassion part has taken a backseat even for the viewers.
Tbh, Om Raut should just come out and say that: "After looking at the audience reaction to the teaser, we feel we have missed a trick and we would like to put more effort into this project keeping in mind the audience feedback." After that they should postpone the release date to Diwali of next year and really work hard to make this VFX and CGI more real and reshoot some of the important scenes. It will still not be a great product because the adaptation is not great and the characters+settings are not as rich or intriguing as the Ramayana but the makers will be able to save face with a decent BO collection as it is an adaptation of an epic like Ramayana plus Prabhas's star power will draw audiences to the theatres to some extent.

Ramanand sagar may not have vfx but the actors like Govil Sir actually acted and looked godly with their talent and dedication the film feels like a unhealthy processed food with no nutrients or taste
In RRR also there many scenes which has VFX... animal cgi is also very good and their movements are very natural... Bheem intro tiger, wolf, interval scene even ram entry most crowd is CGI only for that budget it justified..... But adipurush disappointed 😔
If RRR animals use motion capture like hollywood movies do, it may look even more natural...but they pre animated and added them to frame .....I think motion capture is costly
@Rajveer Singh i think it's problem.of vfx supervisor or team leader or something....they don't go for final retouch i think .... At some point in marvel movies also this cgi problems occures if you observe....
I just realised I should respect more and more to SS rajamouli.. Ramanad Sagar .. B R Chopra...even Shaktimaan.... With limited technology and money they delivered bests of all time...
I think ss rajamouli sir also showed us little bit ramayan in RRR with ram charan being shree ram and alia as seeta and ntr as hanuman. Absolute prefect casting.
I think the casting choices were not good for this movie, prabhas as raavan would have been great and it would have been a breath of fresh air for prabhas too
My 7 yr old son born and is being brought up in US and we have just started watching Ramayan by Ramanant Sagar togather. Satyug was Respect and Dharma, which Ramayan portrays beautifully. The characters have depth and sincerity and not angry face all the time. Ram doesn't need to be 6 pack guy and Hanuman doesnt need to be ultra agressive even if they were super humans. I won't spoil my son's experience by taking him to this movie just because it has VFX
Main difference between Rajamouli and these directors who fail to keep up with expectations is, Rajamouli sets expectations right even before he starts the film. Like suppose before he started RRR he clearly put a big press meet and there itself he revealed that RRR movie is not at all about Freedom fighters whose names have been used in movie, it's completely fictional. Now that makes audience expectations set right. Same thing shouldve done or must be done going forward by all filmmakers. (Ofcourse Rajamouli is genius, not everyone can be genuis to handle situations like these). Now what i expect is, if omraut clearly mentions atleast after Radheshyam movie release is done, when everyone are waiting and increasing their expectations for Adipurush, just set their expectations right by telling-' this is nothing about Ramayana and we're not making ramayana. It's loosely based on ramayana story but characters look entirely different. Now that was very much required and essential when you're handling such serious and close to heart subjects to audience. For example how Rajamouli handled freedom fighters thing.'
In the present day, I had hoped (and still hope it happens one day) that the creators would contemporize Ramayana by making it more real. Making vanarsena of tribals and making the magical aspects of the story grounded would have been a refreshing change. Vfx is good to support the story and set pieces and not as a replacement for either.
It is nothing short of an irony that the great Indian story of Lord Rama was shown with much sincerity in a Japanese animation film in 1993 directed by a Japanese. I think after Aadipurush teaser, people like me will again purify their mind with Ramanand sagar's Ramayan, and Japanese anime "the legend of prince Rama."
With all due respect to the creators, my excitement has gone into drain.. everything was so artificial..out of the blues..I thought I was seeing a sci fi animation.. the aura of the magnanimous epic we've loved since we were kids is nowhere to be seen..I agree with everything you said Jammy..even if you look at the old Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan or the latest television series on Star Plus "Siya ke Ram"..the character selection is crucial but it's portrayal is even more crucial..I can't deny how the cast of the movie is good & promising in terms of art.. whether it's Prabhas, Kriti or Saif..they are apt for their roles.......BUT.. their portrayal..sad..that calmness on Ram's face..that wisdom & knowledge of Raavan is missing..the background doesn't seem in sync..in some scenes Prabhas is topless..in a scene with Kriti he's wearing this skin coloured upper garment..it's not a regular movie..it's an epic..I didn't understand..and even Kriti's scene's VFX was just too much..isse sundar VFX you'll see in Indian mythological television serials..I feel sad for the sheer talent wasted ..And Hanuman's character should also be larger than life..wo bhi missing hai..what is Ramayan without a Ram loving Hanuman? Hanuman's character also just didn't click..Also, I agree with how much this age defying pressures take a toll on an actor's health..sad..

Right, every diwali. It was casted. I used to watch it each time.
The problem is the Actors, they charge so much fees , that there is not much left for money to be used for VFX , Actors should take a paycut to make the movie good like Hollywood. as Hanuman ji is protagonist of Sundar Kand
7. Dashrath - Gajraj Rao
8. Koushalaya - Neena Gupta
9. Kekayi - Sushmita
10.Janak - Darshan Jariwala
11. Vishwamitra - Neeraj Kabi
12. Prahshuram - Sharad Kelkar
13. Manthra - Tilotama shome
14. Marich - Raghubir Yadav
15. Jatayu - Anil Charanjeet
16. Suparnkha - Rasika Duggal
17. Ravan - Ajay Devgn
18. Jamvanth - Sourabh Shukla
19. Nal - Neel - Sidhhant Nigam & Abhishek Nigam
20. Bali & Sugriva - Rajeev Khandelwal
21. Angad - Sidhaant Chaturvedi
22. Khar - dushan - Nikitin Dheer and
Arya Babbar
23. AksayKumar - Shiv Pandit
24. Meghnath - Ranveer Singh

Rajamouli said this in an interview about an advice he got from one of the best vfx artist - “It is best to get as much as you can from real location and props then rest can be enhanced by vfx”
This applies for this teaser aptly.
And rajamouli applied it and improved his visual quality on his very next movie RRR after bahubali itself..That's learning and adaptability
Whether you like Ayan Mukherjee or not but that guy spend 9 years of his career just to make vfx more realistic and it paid off , Brahmastra has one of the best vfx seen by Indian cinema. They could have given the vfx work to red chilles there vfx works are great too.

That probably a vfx fault.. coz when sri krishna enlighten arjun, he stopped the time.. so there's no possibility that birds could fly at that moment.

3:56 "Om takes the 'raut' of transporting the characters.."😂😬😬
I am still in confusion how could they release this teaser after seeing these visuals for themselves.😳
Kochadaiyaan+Chotta Bheem = Adipurush
This shows that you need a good executor and a proper vfx team.
Currently , it looks the focus has been shifted to how the VFX should be or how grand the Movie should be made (large army , weapons, sky, giant personalities) but looks like compassion part has taken a backseat even for the viewers.
