I remember the first time I played Horizon 4 and just having a great time with it it’s the first Horizon game I played and I have good memories of those 2018-2019 days

For me it's Horizon 3, but that's when I had people to play with. Just bought Horizon 5 today, just really wanted to play it again. NOTHING will EVER match that FH3 Demo, in the GT350 (sounded SO CRISP compared to FH2 cars).

Yea they always say that whenever a new game comes out. Just like kids hating on windows 11 just because they are used to windows 10 and they can't move on smh. Fh5 graphics are better than fh4 but fh4 felt more alive and I loved that it was based on UK and had a nice city to drive in unlike fh5 where it's all just looks like soulless roads and a empty game overall.

If I recalled, Horizon 4 has a longer lifespan than other Horizon games at 6 years (2018-2024) versus previous Horizon games’ 4 years before their end of life period. At least we can still play the game after it has been delisted. Even when the servers do eventually shut down, single player will still work, unlike The Crew.
I don't mind ending support, but I don't like delisting the game, there should be a way to prevent that and keep their licensing tbh, delisting games is very unconsumer friendly tbh

I got the ultimate edition for $20 on steam last night. The game is sick and well worth the money. You can get mod menus for the game to grant you any car ... so I'm assuming it's going to still be possible to get all the cars.

FH4 was my first game from the Horizon series, but even from all of the Forza games. I loved is so much, even though my GTX 1050 Ti back then couldn't handle it very well...
Everyone is playing Forza Horizon 4 more lately. You can combine the numbers the 25 most popular racing games are getting and you would still be below FH4. It is literally the most played racing game by a long shot, and it is having its all time peak on Steam right now, with 73k, and it happened multiple times. Yesterday it was 72k, and before that in was in the 50s, so I guess you recorded this before that too. It has over 3 times the amount of players Forza Horizon 5 has, and that was the most popular racing game not so long ago. They decided to keep the 80% discount for longer too. It shouldn't be there anymore, but it looks like they are going to keep it there for a couple weeks more. I can not be sad when the game is this alive once more. It means that those of us who didn't experience FH4 before FH5 get a second chance to be there while everyone is playing it. It is "the thing" right now. These are going to be some good memories indeed. FH4 is leaving is with a bang.
And so it ends. From the first time starting up, to 2024. I‘ve played this game so many hours. All laughs, tears and enjoyment i had with friends will soon be the past. sadly every DLC's ( even those that are not in the bundles ) are already delisted since they announced "we gonna delist the game" and only sold in bundles , but not every DLC's , i looked at steamdb and saw i dont have 10 DLC's ( 9 of them are car packs , the other one is "treasure map" ) because i obtained this game from the expensive bundle on steam that dont sell those DLC's ( even now ) and i forgot to buy them , now i cant have those DLC's other than piracy way , how did they mess it up so badly ?
At the end of the day, people who live in or love the UK are gonna love FH4 more than FH5. I think one of the reasons I loved FH3 so much was coz the ozzy map is so much like SA roads, so it's more enjoyable for me to drive on what's familiar and relatable. I actually like FH5's map even though it can definitely be improved on, but if I was Mexican I'd probably say it's the best map in the series.
Because of Forza 4 I found you and AR12 gaming as well. Both of you guys made such cool and fun videos to watch when the game first came out. At that time I really wanted to get it, so when I did, I had a LOT of fun. I’m sad it’s getting taken out of the steam and most likely the Xbox store for good, but knowing how this game brought me to 2 different, really cool TH-camrs makes me happy.
I'm not worried because, unlike the f-ing Ubisoft, Microsoft does allow us to play their games after they're delisted. I can still play FH1 through 5 just fine in 2024. I appreciate them for that obvious thing. Fuck Ubisoft, Forever and Ever.
I fully agree with you on the fact that car games influence which cars you like in real life. FH5 was a large factor as to why I bought a 7th Gen Toyota Celica. I loved it when I first drove it in game.
I wonder when this game does go offline, what will happen with the seasonal system? Imagine if the last seasonal change comes around that the game will just stay in winter, the least favoured season in the game. That will suck...
I miss the days of grinding AE86 laptimes and course records in the dirt for main map and fortune island, one of the best racing games I have ever dedicated so much time to. Truly a title to miss and reminisce... I had spent what feels like thousands upon thousands of hours tuning, doing arcade missions, grouping with friends for the weeklies. was pure bliss every step of the way... aside from the server connection issues lmao
3 sent me over the moon. I was stupid for the game. 4... I told myself this is the last racing game I'll ever play. I've never even touched a 5 demo. 4 is... iunno. Special.
You will still be able to race online, so technically its not goodbye. But if they are doing all of this they just need to make it FREE or damn near FREE so more peeps can get online and check it out.
Am I a weird guy saying FH4 is my favorite horizon? Now mind you I’m not an old head and my first game was horizon 3. But looking back at 1 and 2, I can get quite into them. The vibes, intro, horizon stories and map just made this game one of my all time favorites
I've never played a racing game as much as this one. Absolute best. I will continue to play FH4 until they ultimately shut down the servers and continue in offline mode until the game becames unplayable. Saw enough to not be interested in motor fest, FH5 and TDU3.
Horizon 4 is significantly better than Horizon 5. I host car meets & cruises on FH4. Imo, the ONLY good thing about FH5 is all the new cars they get. You'd be surprised how many people say FH4 is better than FH5 when I convince them to switch over. FH5 map is too baron, the roads are too wide, every car feels like a train on rails when tuned properly.
This FH 4 is just goated . I mean yeah there's always this and that ....but its very emotional to see this get discontinued. Because it's probably my first game I ever bought on steam on my money with a proper system 😂❤
FH4 is a very special Game indeed to me, I can understand why (licenses...) its got to be delisted, but I am still Devastated that it has been, as 4 actually lead to the most Important thing, my conversion to Christianity, that has ever happened in my life. I am going to miss FH4 a lot more than I will any other Game, I know that. One bit of Good News (see Stevio's Channel) is *all* the "Hard to Find" Cars are going into "Backstage Pass" and Backstage Passes are going to be much Easier to get, that basically removes the FOMO (Good, as I am of the View that FOMO Mechanics should be made *illegal* !) and the Complete Removal of the Playlist is also, I hope, a sign that Playlist is going to be Dropped for FH6, as Torben Ellert (CCD on FH6) has been Quoted as saying the Playlist "doesn't work" as a Game Design Feature. Its Removal from FH4, and the Complete Change to Backstage Pass to remove the FOMO, does strike me as a Possible Sign that Playlist is, Hopefully, going to get Scrapped for 6! I would actually kind of like to see Horizon Return to the UK again In future, as it is a very fitting Location for Horizon, and this time I would like to see them do the South! as FH4 really was rather more Scotland than it was England/Wales.... So I would love to see them Revisit and do Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset (with the main Festival, once again curated and designed by Rob Da Bank (FH1-3), located on Purbeck) Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, West Sussex (complete with Goodwood Estate) East Sussex, Kent, and "the Smoke" (as the Series S/X/Replacements for them should have no issues handling London, unlike the old "One"...) , the Map FH4 *should* have had IMO! I Reckon FH5 will go EOL in 2028, as you stated, Which should be around 2 Years after the (I hope) launch of FH6 (which had better *not* be set in China (or Asia, Period) or the Middle East if they want my money..) in, IMO, Most probably 2026. FH4 still working even after EOL and TC1 being Dead Dead, is yet more Proof as to why we, as Gamers, must Campaign to get the Government to make "always online DRM" *illegal* (STOP. KILLING. GAMES!). FH4 cannot die like TC1 has, it will just fade away. FH6 if it all Possible, needs to take all the Best Features from all 5 Previous Games and get them working, even if only in Single Player at first, on Launch, and should only drop the Features (The Eliminator, Playlist) that don't work! or at the very least, as much as they can do at the Microsoft Mandated 3/E Ratings, FH6 needs to *Have an actual Story* again! FH4 was Game Pass Day 1 yes, one of the very first Games to be so! Again, I do not expect to see FH6 until 2026 (as launching it next year would bring it into Conflict with the Fable Reboot from Playgrounds Second Studio) , so, the Delisting of FH4 is most likely due to License Expiration and some of the Companies refusing to Renew them...look for the Brands still missing from FH5... than it is due to FH6. Sadly, the Car Industry does not really care about us in the West, as New Car Sales are in the Skidibidy Toilet (Car Companies, get this through your Thick Heads! *We Do Not Want BEV SUV's!* ) here, and they only care about New Car Sales, as that is where they make all their moneys, thus, as New Cars are only Really Selling in the Middle and Far East, the Car Industry only cares about the Middle and Far East where Gaming is often still more than a Bit Taboo (with some countries, such as China and Saudi Arabia, only Legalising Gaming less than a Decade ago, meaning Games are often still viewed with deep Suspicion and even Hostility!) and is actually Bad for their Images, which has lead to the very Anti Gaming "Ok, but only if you do this, this and this so as not to Damage our Image in..." Viewpoints seen amongst their Boards of Directors. I do not give two Hoots about Fortnite. Not my cup of Tea at all, and 12 is *far* too low a Rating for a Game that Violent, All Shooting Games should be BBFC 18, if not Banned Outright from Sale here in the UK, as far as I am concerned. Problem is, as EA Sports WRC has proven, Proper UK Scale Roads are near *unplayable* on a Standard Xbox One/Series Controller as they are too Inaccurate and too Slow to Respond so you just Fly off the Road into a Wreck all the Time as the Pad is too slow and Inaccurate to Place the Car Properly, so they had to go with Mahoosive Roads to keep the Game fun on a Slow and Inaccurate Standard Pad! I think that "Garage" may have been an Earlier Render for a "Barn Find" Building that was not used in the End but was still put into the Map as an Easter Egg, that makes sense to me.
FH4 is just the latest game to get the rose tinted effect. It doesn't do anything much better than FH5. It's got a better scenery, atmosphere, and weather system. The map layout of the roads is terrible. The roads were too linear and only about 1-2, maybe 3 stretches of road are worth driving on. It made track cars and slow handling based cars worthless. No long airstrip/dragstrip, the multi-player was boring, and the players tended to play by themselves. You had to go out of your way just to drift or cruise around the map with others. I think most people got upset with glitches and online problems of FH5 and just looked at FH4 as a better ex-girlfriend.
I was too harsh on this game when I played it. Like looking back now, i very much enjoyed the snow season way more than I previously thought i did lol.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I specifically bought an Xbox on the release day of FH4 just to be able to play it. I spent over 1000 hours in it, having a great time, sometimes sweating to achieve 100% completion. Overall, it was a wonderful 3 years. I also don't forget to occasionally switch from FH5 to FH4. I bought another copy on Steam, but there's a problem I wasn't aware of. There is no way to have the same save from the Microsoft Cloud on Steam :( I spent about 80 PLN (20 USD) just to start over. Don't get me wrong, FH4 is a wonderful game, but thinking about what I had on my account before, all the exclusive cars that were hard to get, the amount of effort it took to collect everything, kills all the fun of the game. As much as I love this game, it's now dead to me forever, probably just like my save, because that's probably how it works, a different save, but the overwrite of the new one probably went to Microsoft's servers.
Played a lot on game pass, and I purchased the game during the steam summer sale, and I'm glad I did. I did like the FH4 map! One bad thing, Steam and game pass progress don't transfer because the xbox and Steam version save differently. Same files, different formats. Sad day for game preservation. Hopefully the community finds a way to community host the backend so people can still play together after the servers get yeeted.
My idea for Forza Horizon 6, they should add dealership locations and more player houses for sale (with full interiors and garages). Lets make it into what Test Drive Unlimited should be but better :)
When I heard this game being unveiled and released it was the reason I got myself an xbox. I've got Horizon 5 but haven't played that in ages when I got bored of the map and tend to jump onto Horizon 4 as it just feels better. As someone who lives in Scotland and works in Edinburgh that might be why as well. Can't believe the game has been out that long too.
100% agree with you, FH5 has improved generally everything from Physics, graphics, shadows etc but FH4 just had better map design. FH5 map just bigger thats about it, roads and off roads just feel abit dry and dull whereas FH4 felt alive and vibrant. I quite enjoyed the 4 season changes and you'd have to adjust cars or driving style especially in the winter.
I feel bad for kids. If I wanted to play Crash or relive Spyro I just pop the disc in. Can you imagine wanting to relive your childhood game and you go to pop it in and can’t play it. Dang. That’s sucks dude.
You can still play it. It's just no longer sold. Don't panic. And even if the servers are shut down at some point, only the multiplayer will die. The game itself will remain.
I have both installed, because both locations are fun to roam, but FH4's towns and seasons are better imo. Love the mountain drifting and the offroad of FH5.
The DLC's finally went on sale last month, bought 'em, got Fortune Island out of the way, and I'm working on the LEGO's DLC. The LEGO cars look fantastic! I own a couple of Speed Champions sets, it was cool to compare the models on my hand to the ones on the game. Counld't get the Hot Wheels Legends car-pack though. *bummer*
I got the game for free yesterday since i had it on gamepass and bought a dlc for it and xbox sent me a message saying i can have a free digital copy of the game cuz its going off of gamepass at 15/12/2024 so yeah i appreciate it xbox! Thanks
Forza Horizon 4's custom routes and Super7 challenges are still only available online. You can't download them for offline play. Forza Horizon 5 is the same, with the exception of your own custom routes. These features would be perfectly playable offline! And with FH5, it was a big selling point for me, and many other people. If this won't be fixed, I'll really be discouraged from pursuing the next Forza Horizon.

sadly every DLC's ( even those that are not in the bundles ) are already delisted since they announced "we gonna delist the game" and only sold in bundles , but not every DLC's , i looked at steamdb and saw i dont have 10 DLC's ( 9 of them are car packs , the other one is "treasure map" ) because i obtained this game from the expensive bundle on steam that dont sell those DLC's ( even now ) and i forgot to buy them , now i cant have those DLC's other than piracy way , how did they mess it up so badly ?
I do hope they put all of the cars in the auto show. I get if they can't do it for dlc cars. But for the exclusive event cars would be nice
Fh4 has a vibe in its own , i never got it from fh5 , Imagine driving listening to radio driving ur fav car on a wet uk road ...
It's the Season cycle that sets it apart from FH5 & FH3. It sets the vibe for the game. Though my favorite is still weatherless summer.
At the end of the day, people who live in or love the UK are gonna love FH4 more than FH5.
I think one of the reasons I loved FH3 so much was coz the ozzy map is so much like SA roads, so it's more enjoyable for me to drive on what's familiar and relatable.
I actually like FH5's map even though it can definitely be improved on, but if I was Mexican I'd probably say it's the best map in the series.

Because of Forza 4 I found you and AR12 gaming as well. Both of you guys made such cool and fun videos to watch when the game first came out. At that time I really wanted to get it, so when I did, I had a LOT of fun. I’m sad it’s getting taken out of the steam and most likely the Xbox store for good, but knowing how this game brought me to 2 different, really cool TH-camrs makes me happy.
I'm not worried because, unlike the f-ing Ubisoft, Microsoft does allow us to play their games after they're delisted. I can still play FH1 through 5 just fine in 2024. I appreciate them for that obvious thing. Fuck Ubisoft, Forever and Ever.
I fully agree with you on the fact that car games influence which cars you like in real life. FH5 was a large factor as to why I bought a 7th Gen Toyota Celica. I loved it when I first drove it in game.
I wonder when this game does go offline, what will happen with the seasonal system? Imagine if the last seasonal change comes around that the game will just stay in winter, the least favoured season in the game. That will suck...
I miss the days of grinding AE86 laptimes and course records in the dirt for main map and fortune island, one of the best racing games I have ever dedicated so much time to. Truly a title to miss and reminisce... I had spent what feels like thousands upon thousands of hours tuning, doing arcade missions, grouping with friends for the weeklies. was pure bliss every step of the way... aside from the server connection issues lmao

You will still be able to race online, so technically its not goodbye. But if they are doing all of this they just need to make it FREE or damn near FREE so more peeps can get online and check it out.
You can still get all the Festival Playlist cars in the Horizon Backstage section, even the Pre-order and DLC cars.
I had it on Gamepass, and I just purchased it on Steam.....and I'm having a blast playing again.

I've never played a racing game as much as this one. Absolute best. I will continue to play FH4 until they ultimately shut down the servers and continue in offline mode until the game becames unplayable. Saw enough to not be interested in motor fest, FH5 and TDU3.
Someone needs to mod this game and do it justice since we never got better sounds for the cars

Horizon 4 is significantly better than Horizon 5. I host car meets & cruises on FH4. Imo, the ONLY good thing about FH5 is all the new cars they get. You'd be surprised how many people say FH4 is better than FH5 when I convince them to switch over. FH5 map is too baron, the roads are too wide, every car feels like a train on rails when tuned properly.

FH4 is a very special Game indeed to me, I can understand why (licenses...) its got to be delisted, but I am still Devastated that it has been, as 4 actually lead to the most Important thing, my conversion to Christianity, that has ever happened in my life. I am going to miss FH4 a lot more than I will any other Game, I know that.
One bit of Good News (see Stevio's Channel) is *all* the "Hard to Find" Cars are going into "Backstage Pass" and Backstage Passes are going to be much Easier to get, that basically removes the FOMO (Good, as I am of the View that FOMO Mechanics should be made *illegal* !) and the Complete Removal of the Playlist is also, I hope, a sign that Playlist is going to be Dropped for FH6, as Torben Ellert (CCD on FH6) has been Quoted as saying the Playlist "doesn't work" as a Game Design Feature. Its Removal from FH4, and the Complete Change to Backstage Pass to remove the FOMO, does strike me as a Possible Sign that Playlist is, Hopefully, going to get Scrapped for 6!
I would actually kind of like to see Horizon Return to the UK again In future, as it is a very fitting Location for Horizon, and this time I would like to see them do the South! as FH4 really was rather more Scotland than it was England/Wales.... So I would love to see them Revisit and do Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset (with the main Festival, once again curated and designed by Rob Da Bank (FH1-3), located on Purbeck) Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, West Sussex (complete with Goodwood Estate) East Sussex, Kent, and "the Smoke" (as the Series S/X/Replacements for them should have no issues handling London, unlike the old "One"...) , the Map FH4 *should* have had IMO!
I Reckon FH5 will go EOL in 2028, as you stated, Which should be around 2 Years after the (I hope) launch of FH6 (which had better *not* be set in China (or Asia, Period) or the Middle East if they want my money..) in, IMO, Most probably 2026.
FH4 still working even after EOL and TC1 being Dead Dead, is yet more Proof as to why we, as Gamers, must Campaign to get the Government to make "always online DRM" *illegal* (STOP. KILLING. GAMES!). FH4 cannot die like TC1 has, it will just fade away.
FH6 if it all Possible, needs to take all the Best Features from all 5 Previous Games and get them working, even if only in Single Player at first, on Launch, and should only drop the Features (The Eliminator, Playlist) that don't work! or at the very least, as much as they can do at the Microsoft Mandated 3/E Ratings, FH6 needs to *Have an actual Story* again!
FH4 was Game Pass Day 1 yes, one of the very first Games to be so!
Again, I do not expect to see FH6 until 2026 (as launching it next year would bring it into Conflict with the Fable Reboot from Playgrounds Second Studio) , so, the Delisting of FH4 is most likely due to License Expiration and some of the Companies refusing to Renew them...look for the Brands still missing from FH5... than it is due to FH6.
Sadly, the Car Industry does not really care about us in the West, as New Car Sales are in the Skidibidy Toilet (Car Companies, get this through your Thick Heads! *We Do Not Want BEV SUV's!* ) here, and they only care about New Car Sales, as that is where they make all their moneys, thus, as New Cars are only Really Selling in the Middle and Far East, the Car Industry only cares about the Middle and Far East where Gaming is often still more than a Bit Taboo (with some countries, such as China and Saudi Arabia, only Legalising Gaming less than a Decade ago, meaning Games are often still viewed with deep Suspicion and even Hostility!) and is actually Bad for their Images, which has lead to the very Anti Gaming "Ok, but only if you do this, this and this so as not to Damage our Image in..." Viewpoints seen amongst their Boards of Directors.
I do not give two Hoots about Fortnite. Not my cup of Tea at all, and 12 is *far* too low a Rating for a Game that Violent, All Shooting Games should be BBFC 18, if not Banned Outright from Sale here in the UK, as far as I am concerned.
Problem is, as EA Sports WRC has proven, Proper UK Scale Roads are near *unplayable* on a Standard Xbox One/Series Controller as they are too Inaccurate and too Slow to Respond so you just Fly off the Road into a Wreck all the Time as the Pad is too slow and Inaccurate to Place the Car Properly, so they had to go with Mahoosive Roads to keep the Game fun on a Slow and Inaccurate Standard Pad!
I think that "Garage" may have been an Earlier Render for a "Barn Find" Building that was not used in the End but was still put into the Map as an Easter Egg, that makes sense to me.

FH4 is just the latest game to get the rose tinted effect. It doesn't do anything much better than FH5. It's got a better scenery, atmosphere, and weather system. The map layout of the roads is terrible. The roads were too linear and only about 1-2, maybe 3 stretches of road are worth driving on. It made track cars and slow handling based cars worthless. No long airstrip/dragstrip, the multi-player was boring, and the players tended to play by themselves. You had to go out of your way just to drift or cruise around the map with others. I think most people got upset with glitches and online problems of FH5 and just looked at FH4 as a better ex-girlfriend.
I was too harsh on this game when I played it. Like looking back now, i very much enjoyed the snow season way more than I previously thought i did lol.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I specifically bought an Xbox on the release day of FH4 just to be able to play it. I spent over 1000 hours in it, having a great time, sometimes sweating to achieve 100% completion. Overall, it was a wonderful 3 years. I also don't forget to occasionally switch from FH5 to FH4. I bought another copy on Steam, but there's a problem I wasn't aware of. There is no way to have the same save from the Microsoft Cloud on Steam :(
I spent about 80 PLN (20 USD) just to start over. Don't get me wrong, FH4 is a wonderful game, but thinking about what I had on my account before, all the exclusive cars that were hard to get, the amount of effort it took to collect everything, kills all the fun of the game.
As much as I love this game, it's now dead to me forever, probably just like my save, because that's probably how it works, a different save, but the overwrite of the new one probably went to Microsoft's servers.

Played a lot on game pass, and I purchased the game during the steam summer sale, and I'm glad I did. I did like the FH4 map! One bad thing, Steam and game pass progress don't transfer because the xbox and Steam version save differently. Same files, different formats.
Sad day for game preservation. Hopefully the community finds a way to community host the backend so people can still play together after the servers get yeeted.
My idea for Forza Horizon 6, they should add dealership locations and more player houses for sale (with full interiors and garages). Lets make it into what Test Drive Unlimited should be but better :)

When I heard this game being unveiled and released it was the reason I got myself an xbox. I've got Horizon 5 but haven't played that in ages when I got bored of the map and tend to jump onto Horizon 4 as it just feels better. As someone who lives in Scotland and works in Edinburgh that might be why as well. Can't believe the game has been out that long too.
100% agree with you, FH5 has improved generally everything from Physics, graphics, shadows etc but FH4 just had better map design. FH5 map just bigger thats about it, roads and off roads just feel abit dry and dull whereas FH4 felt alive and vibrant.
I quite enjoyed the 4 season changes and you'd have to adjust cars or driving style especially in the winter.
I feel bad for kids. If I wanted to play Crash or relive Spyro I just pop the disc in. Can you imagine wanting to relive your childhood game and you go to pop it in and can’t play it. Dang. That’s sucks dude.

You can still play it. It's just no longer sold. Don't panic. And even if the servers are shut down at some point, only the multiplayer will die. The game itself will remain.
I have both installed, because both locations are fun to roam, but FH4's towns and seasons are better imo. Love the mountain drifting and the offroad of FH5.
The DLC's finally went on sale last month, bought 'em, got Fortune Island out of the way, and I'm working on the LEGO's DLC. The LEGO cars look fantastic! I own a couple of Speed Champions sets, it was cool to compare the models on my hand to the ones on the game. Counld't get the Hot Wheels Legends car-pack though. *bummer*

Forza Horizon 4's custom routes and Super7 challenges are still only available online. You can't download them for offline play.
Forza Horizon 5 is the same, with the exception of your own custom routes.
These features would be perfectly playable offline! And with FH5, it was a big selling point for me, and many other people.
If this won't be fixed, I'll really be discouraged from pursuing the next Forza Horizon.
