While there are certainly a lot of exciting things happening in your future, make sure you enjoy the present, too! I used to be the same way not so long ago. I was so focused on what was to come that I forgot to be grateful for how my life currently was. I try not to say "I can't wait..." anymore because the truth is, I CAN wait. 😊 I know you're both excited about buying a house. Your current home is so beautiful and cozy. Even if the wood stains don't all match and the countertop might not be perfect, there are so many great things about it!
How fun is BLW! My daughter is almost one and will eat anything! She has such an amazing relationship with food, and I don't have to feed her which is a bonus haha.
You will love camping with Emma! We started camping when our daughter was 4 months old. She is 12 now and has a huge love of camping and the outdoors. No need to wait!!
Id love to see your journey with babylead weaning if you try it! After she meets all the requirements of course. Sitting up unassisted, no tongue thrust reflex, 6 months and interested in food.
Research Baby Led weaning! It’s so much easier and better than traditional weaning. And also, you can skip oatmeal, there is no nutritional value to it. Feeding baby is so fun!
rachel shvetz If you buy organic whole wheat oatmeal its fine. If you read the box theres lots of iron, protein and many vitamins and minerals. I wouldn’t recommend rice cereal though.
Emma is so adorable Her cheeks are my fav She will for sure be storing food In them when she starts eating. Lol it's the cutest when they do that . Whatever you decide to feed her can't wait for her to reach that milestone 💖💖💖
I’d love to see the camper get redone! I remember when you first got it and were so excited about your plans for it!! I think teal with like white trim would look so pretty ♥️ I can’t wait until the first family camping vlog!!
Look up baby led weaning! It’s so good for baby. Also, make sure you wait until 6 months of age! Not sure if you mentioned in the video what age you’re gonna start at but I would look up why waiting until 6 months is best for babies belly❤️ of course it’s your decision. My son was born about a week after Emma was and we are waiting until 6 months. Good luck mama!❤️❤️❤️🥰
Loving Emma’s high chair and she loved it too. She is really lot more chilled too and is obviously loving having her daddy home 🏡 I love your project idea and that will be a lot of fun to watch too xxx Totally agree about getting the decs down and putting the house back in order again 😘👍 xxx
My kids highchairs were always a major staple for me! They would sit in even before food and play with toys while I cleaned the kitchen or cooked! It made eating dinner easier too! They were with us but not being held!
Check the latest in food recommendations...avocado is a really great start food...my ped said only use cereal as a thickening agent as it can cause constipation etc...(way different then when our older kids were little)...also now the recommendation is to wait until 6 months if baby is fully breast fed/breast milk fed.....I can understand the excitement though...she is growing so fast...
Also, here in Puerto Rico, since we have the longest Christmas in the world, we don't take the tree and decorations down until January 14th. We even have Three Kings's Day on January 6th, which is usually a bigger holiday than Christmas on the 25th. 😊🎄
You don't have to use breast milk to water food down, water is fine to add to food and veg is the best food to start babies on oatmeal isn't the best thing to start with. Good luck and happy weaning xx
Emma in her high chair! Just too adorable! It is a great piece of versatile baby furniture and she can join you at meal time even if she's not eating. A few toys make it a play station. I used to put mine into the kitchen when I was doing dishes or a bedroom while I made beds. You will love it!💖💖💖💖😊
In Germany you take down the Christmas tree on Sunday, January 6 , Epiphany 2019 or 3 Kings Day !! For many Christians, the holiday season doesn’t officially end until the 12th day of Christmas known as the “Feast of the Epiphany” or “Three Kings’ Day”.
If you roll up a towel you can wedge it around her in the high chair to support her, that way you can loosen the straps a bit and she can sit forward enough to reach the table and play with toys etc on there 😊
Even though you arent feeding Emma solids yet, she can sit there while you & Justin eat dinner together (at the same time.) You can just give her a toy to keep her occupied. Both of my grandsons loved sweet potatoes & avocados. Just be sure to wait at least 3 days before you give her new foods so you will be able to determine if she is allergic. Also, Emma is definitely old enough to go camping. We leave our Christmas decorations up until the weekend prior to New Year’s Day.
I just made all my baby food today and we are starting out with veggies then fruit. I was gonna do blw but since I work no one else wanted to make an effort into researching and learning about it so that's out the window but everyone I know loved it!
We took our oldest for her first camping when she was 8 months old in May here in Iceland. The other 2 are born in march and april, they went around 3 months old camping
My Dad (who was very particular) always said about mixed stains and types of wood together. "They grew in the same forest, so they go together in the same room." Personal taste. Usysally, leave tree up to after Jan 6th for little Christmas. Feast of Epiphany close of the twelve days of Christmas.
Hi, not sure if I've introduced my "arrival" here from the Earls' channel, but I'm enjoying getting to know the three of you, and watching Emma develop. We usually take down our Christmas stuff over New Year's. But my husband is retired and I'm disabled so we're both here all the time and there's no urgency as their was when we were both working and time was precious. We also don't put out nearly as much as we did when I was able to do all the decorating. We quite often leave our stuff up until Epiphany. Baby feeding is so different than "in our day," and I remember my grandmother and mother saying the same thing. We kind of rushed to give our son solid food and he has terrible allergies of all kinds to this day (he's 43) and I blame that we started solids so soon. At the time it was recommended to start them on rice cereal at 6 weeks and some fruits at 3 months. We were ahead of it by weeks, encouraged by my mom and older sisters. It meant he slept all night from a very young age (two weeks!) but he's had to pay for it. (My mom and sisters also told me to not even consider breast feeding and I listened - have regretted that ever since.) When mom was raising us, one never laid a baby to sleep on its belly because "they could smother." In our time, it was all about the belly so they wouldn't choke to death if they spit up. All these things seem to cycle through and then come back. They are certainly important but not nearly as important as we all believe when it's our baby we're deciding for. :) Our generation was just on the cusp of the home made baby food thing. For us, it was Gerber and Beech-nut.
Every parent & pediatrician has a different opinion on solid foods. Every child is different & you have to do what you think is best. I've seen a lot of parents try numerous things at the same time & end up with an allergic reaction that they can't figure out. Just go slow with whatever you choose, a few days between each new food you introduce & she'll be fine
Growing up my family took our tree down after New Years. I brought that same tradition into my own family in the beginning, but now I just want it down. I think I’m taking mine down tomorrow. After Christmas I’m ready for spring and summer I don’t like winter at all.
@@angelicarivers7225 we still have the king's cake, and it used to have a little gift inside or a pea. Who would get the pea slice, had to buy a new cake. But it's not sold with that anymore because of suffucation. Still delucious though 😊
I lol’d when Justin said he can’t wait to own a home so he won’t have to clean his garage anymore! My hubby is constantly cleaning/organizing the garage and we own our home. We did baby led weaning with our daughter, her first food was sliced avo that she munched on and had no issue but we didn't really start until closer to 7 months because she wasn't interested in food until then.
Definitely do veggies before fruits! Once she has fruit she will spit veggies at u 😂😂 also be careful with avocado for allergy reasons 🙂 my bf is highly allergic to avocado and banana 💚

You can totally skip the oatmeal and do fruits then veggies you don’t have to add breastmilk to any foods including avocado just make sure it really mashed up she will be fine love u guys ❤️
Tree comes down day or two after Christmas. Use to stay up until the day after New Years Day because my mom said it was bad luck to take down sooner. I have bad luck no matter what. So, tree comes down and get my house back in order.
Also a heads up oatmeal or rice cereals can damage the gut lining of a child under 2. I’m in Canada and our dr recommended limiting grains before the age of 2. Also rice cereals are high in arsenic 😞. But it’s your child and your choice. Not all drs understand nutrition btw.
For my family the reason why we keep our tree up until the first of the year is because apparently it's bad luck to take it down before the first...lol I don't know if it's just my family or what but it's how it's always been for us. I'm not superstitious but my family is ...LOL honestly I have taken my tree down the day after Christmas before but my mom would never do that at her house and when I did it she cried...lol
Christmas tree and decorations come down the day that the 12 Days Of Christmas ends ... so that is the 5th of January :) PLUS we still have Christmas dinners with family still to do up until then.
I love my Christmas decorations SO much, so I wait until after New Year's to take mine down. It's always a sad day to take it down, but feels good after the house is all clean again, too. :)
Well I keep my decor up until 1 week after January 6th, because I'm an Latina and we celebrate Tree kings day on that day.. so Christmas is not over in my house yet!!!
Another vlogger we follow just started baby led feeding and it looks pretty neat too! Pretty much you get certain foods oober soft and they actually can pick up amd learn chewing skills on their own. Thats just basics of it but we plan on doing some research as well on it and possibly try it when we get to that point. 😄
Baby led weaning is awesome. We have 4 and just started baby led weaning for the first time with our fourth. I wish I'd known about this with my first. Our 8 month old eats everything we do and loves feeding herself which is awesome because hubby and I can eat while she eats. I was really surprised when the pediatrician suggested it and also suggested giving her peanut butter now which was always a no no, until 2, with my 11, 8 and 6 year old. Things change so much through the years with how to care for babies. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. The solid food stage is so much. fun!
I’ve heard such good things about baby led weaning. I have to do some more research on it but you may want to look into it. I agree with others though the cereal and oatmeal aren’t necessary.
We only had a tree up this year cuz we are broke and couldn't afford other decorations, and out walls are so hard that they bend thumbtacks and nails. I took the tree down the day after Christmas, mostly cuz the cat broke off a branch, kept pulling decorations off, and the last straw was him knocking it over 😂
Fruits are the best first foods for babies. Ripe bananas and avocados are great firsts to start with. I started with kiwis. We did baby led weaning and some smoothies
She can totally eat fruits and veggies first. It’s great for her! But obviously do what you feel is best for your child!
My kids all ate avocado first! So many great, brain healthy fats!
Veggies first because fruits are yummy and they may refuse veggies after!

we did blw with both our babies:) we didnt do any rice cereal or any of that stuff. we started with avacado then steamed vegetables then fruit
Does this work for a toddler that refuses table food and only wants baby food!
Marybeth Langendorf no, this is for learning to eat solids. But it’s a great way to avoid picky eaters in the future if you start off with BLW!

@@stclaircrew8472 yes! It makes more sense.. With baby food they only learn to swallow, with baby led weaning they learn to chew!
I did baby led weaning at 5 months, my baby Emma hated puree food unless in a pouch! But every baby is different.
The solid food stage is so much. fun!
My baby (who is now 2) didn’t care for cereal unless it had fruit mixed in but she loved butternut squash and sweet potatoes.
My whole family puts Christmas decor away until after Kings Day January 7th. It's a holiday celebrted in Mexico
The thumbnail is just SOOOOO freaking cute!!!!!!
I keep the Christmas decor up until 7th of January. It's like a tradition in my country :)
I’ve heard such good things about baby led weaning. I have to do some more research on it but you may want to look into it. I agree with others though the cereal and oatmeal aren’t necessary.
I started avocado mashed as a first food. She loved it. she didnt like it mashed with breastmilk either formula but she loved it just avocado mashed.
In my culture - I'm Guatemalan-American - we take down the tree and decorations after three kings day in January!
Yes love to see you renovation
We only had a tree up this year cuz we are broke and couldn't afford other decorations, and out walls are so hard that they bend thumbtacks and nails.
I took the tree down the day after Christmas, mostly cuz the cat broke off a branch, kept pulling decorations off, and the last straw was him knocking it over 😂
WE're doing baby led weaning with our little one. I'm so excited!
December-26th-bye-bye-tree is how I roll 😎
My family usually leaves it up until New Years, but last year, we left it up until the end of January!
HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS ARE ALL YEAR ROUND!!!!!!!
I take down my decor day or weekend after New Years usually to hectic for me right after Christmas so it’s just made into routine
Fruits are the best first foods for babies. Ripe bananas and avocados are great firsts to start with. I started with kiwis. We did baby led weaning and some smoothies
