      +Cemel Dosce - Absolutely nothing. Not because he's unqualified, but because there are special interest groups standing in the way at every corner. There are thousands of people that could run this country like it should be. Sadly, and as history always show, bad people are typically in charge of too much OR have too much power over others.

      +Bull Falls the president has the power to pick supreme court justices. That's important for getting the special interests out of the picture and wrestling democracy back. The hard part is getting a guy like this actually elected.

      More and more of us are finally waking up!!
      I've been woke after failure after FAILURE to get a piece of the American Dream and deep down in my heart I knew this is not suppose to be that HARD. Then after the September 11, 2001 attack of the World Trade Center and the World Trade Center 7 "collapse" leaked I, too, started to ask questions, then I questioned how does money work and where is it printed and so on and so forth. After that I realized that the American Dream may not be around much longer but I almost given up hope but I didnt because folks are truly waking up and the read quotes from the Founding Fathers and they give me motivation today more and more folks are finally waking up and there are Enemies within our country. Today I, for one, will stand for my GOD-Given Rights, tell the TRUTH and defy them!! I really wish I was President because I know where to be and currently the direction we're heading towards destruction but they claim like a broken record they say, "everything is ok, everything is alright!" again, over and over!
      Well, enough is enough people let them have their way but now we must make Our Voice Loud and Clear!!

    Ladies and Gentlemen, I feel our country is finished and I fear it will not live to see it's 250th anniversary. What angers me most, what drives me into a depressive state is that we the people and that includes me, have let down the ones that created this nation. Yes, we the people of the United States of America have let down the ones that fought, bled and died to create a nation where it's citizens are free of oppression, free of persecution, free of dictators telling them what they can and can not do, free of super rich monarchs telling them how to live their lives, by allowing a select group of super rich individuals to wreck this nation with their insatiable lust for power and greed. I also think that we are well beyond the point of fixing things by appealing to our elected officials because the majority is too much indebted to the fortune 500 to inaugurate any positive changes. We missed the opportunity to change things by legislative measures. So guys like this one here, Senator Grayson, as a legit and stand up guy as he may be, is part of a very small minority that is simply too small to bring forth changes that would turn around the coming calamity. So the question is, what can we do? What can we as individuals do to save our country? It is in my opinion this very attitude of the majority of people I talk to: "I'm a nobody, there's nothing I can do about it." that allows these crooks at the top of the food chain to get away with literally murder (e.g. Obama and his own personal kill list just to name one). Government institutions created with our tax dollars, run by officials elected by us, to rule over our lives to the point they can decide who lives and who dies. Banks that have thanks to the help of our government, become so large and powerful, they too can decide who lives and who dies without consequence. No accountability in either government or financial industry. But I don't blame those guys for doing this, they simply do what's in their best interest as would everyone of us. I blame us, we the people have allowed things to get as far as they have by not caring what goes on 2000 miles away in Washington. Never in the history of our nation has the people's interest in what the government is doing been lower than it is today. When a thief steals from you and you do nothing about it, what happens? He will steal from you again and again. If one of us robs a bank and is caught, he or she will do serious time behind bars and you can argue all you want in court that you've been an upstanding citizen for 40 years and only this one bad day you had led to this, it won't matter, they will slam the book at you. Those politicians and corporate giants however can literally wreck the entire nation, steal billions from us and all that ever happens is some congress man in a public hearing tells them not to do it again and even asks them for help on how to prevent it from happening again. These clowns in Washington have raked up a national dept of over 18 trillion dollars by now and absolutely no one is held accountable for it. Everything has gotten so out of control, what is it going to take before we stand up and do something about it? Are we really going to let thee crooks destroy our county, idly stand by and watch them rob us of our future and that of our children? But as I myself don't know exactly what to do, or at least couldn't say here publicly what to do, I guess stand by and watch is what will happen, nothing and nobody will stop the coming crash and the destruction of our country that millions in it's brief history have bled and died defending who's sacrifice we are about to make in vain.

      +David Anderson Depressing as all hell, but well put. I would love to hear your thoughts on solutions, as they are not forth coming. We are still in an awakening phase. Sad that we are so late in the game. The product of a trusting, naive, entitled and lazy culture.

    • @davidanderson1889
      @davidanderson1889 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, the way I see it, once the revolution was done and over with, the people have sort of lost interest in what's happening politically and naively believed whatever our government said, not keeping in mind Jefferson's words who said to always be watchful and never blindly trust a government. He knew what he was talking about ;-) But of course just closing one's eyes and let those boys in Washington do whatever they want, makes life very convenient. Only by the time the wakeup call comes, it's too late and all the yelling and complaining won't help. There would still be time and opportunity to make changes, there are ways to bring the so called elite to it's knees, but for that to happen it takes a united people willing to make sacrifices in order to change things and I just don't see that happening since most people these days couldn't agree on the color of an orange

    • @shreedhar333
      @shreedhar333 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because guys like this present their arguments with rationale, logic and facts unlike the last two who simply put up a good face, lie through their teeth and give an impression of caring for the people. Americans can't seem to handle well-constructed plans with long-term benefits, rather they prefer ill-formed short-term band-aids that are good only for *them*. Probably, because American people are predominantly ignorant about their government's policies and their possible impact on posterity. The politicians and news media here does a great job of distracting people away from the issues that really matter to the population. It's actually a brilliant scheme, if you can look at it objectively.

    Alan Grayson. I have had unwavering support for you. I was so upset when you lost in the primaries. Now, we could have used your voice in the senate instead of Rubio who does not care about those of us with health care needs. Life and death health care needs. I am so afraid now! I hope you will try again and run again next time. For any office. I will support you. And I will talk to others too. You came out in 2012 to the War on Women's march in Orlando. I was there, in fact I helped to organize that rally. I won't forget your support and your presence there. So you have my support. Please don't be disheartened by the last election. We need you again. We could use your voice even if you are not in office. Please continue to speak up for us.

On the other side of the aisle are Republicans who use a deceitful approach to these issues, e.g. fear mongering, death panels, socialism, big government. They tell us that people without insurance choose not to pay for it, not that they can't afford it. They massage their resentments for the poor, generating hatred for people who have nothing. Disgusting!

The problem with America is that the people do not get it, they do not care about education, and they have accepted a really toxic culture and outlook on the world.

      5 billion dollars a year? Cite your source. The ACA took 700,000,000 dollars from Medicare, not the enrollees, the medical bureaucracy. I have never heard or seen the yearly figure you have quoted. No beneficiaries lost coverage or services under this law. They actually got help from the ACA. The "doughnut hole" for prescriptions was closed saving thousands of dollars per person. Get your facts straight before you preach this crap. I'm surprised you didn't bring up the "death panels".

    Thousands of people die from vehicle related accidents. Is it the government's job to ban the use of cars so people won't be killed by them?
    The government isn't responsible for protecting individuals from every single threat out there. Medical costs didn't start skyrocketing until the government got involved in the system, how do they expect to help the situation by becoming even more involved?

  • @Weathered22
    @Weathered22 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm sure many people do take those things for granted. I think the government should let us keep a larger portion of the money we earn so WE can decide how we spend it, not let a few hundred bureaucrats in Washington tell us where it's best spent. I'd even be more inclined to let our state and local governments spend my money rather than people 2,000 miles away.
    The biggest problem is that WE as a country don't have any more money for our government to spend.

      I hope you can give me a moment of your time brother.
      This one of the last speech JFK spoke concerning secret society before his assassination on November 22, 1963.
      I've ONLY highlighted his main words for you to read. GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER.
      We all sense it in the air that something is coming, something very bad and we all know it!!!!👇
      President John F. Kennedy
      Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, New York City
      April 27, 1961
      *The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it.* Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.
      But I do ask every publisher, every editor, and every newsman in the nation to reexamine his own standards, and to recognize the nature of our country's peril. In time of war, the government and the press have customarily joined in an effort based largely on self-discipline, to prevent unauthorized disclosures to the enemy. In time of "clear and present danger," the courts have held that even the privileged rights of the First Amendment must yield to the public's need for national security.
      Today no war has been declared--and however fierce the struggle may be, it may never be declared in the traditional fashion. *Our way of life is under attack. Those who make themselves our enemy are advancing around the globe. The survival of our friends is in danger. And yet no war has been declared, no borders have been crossed by marching troops, no missiles have been fired.*
      If the press is awaiting a declaration of war before it imposes the self-discipline of combat conditions, then I can only say that no war ever posed a greater threat to our security. *If you are awaiting a finding of "clear and present danger," then I can only say that the danger has never been more clear and its presence has never been more imminent.*
      *It requires a change in outlook, a change in tactics, a change in missions--by the government, by the people, by every businessman or labor leader, and by every newspaper. For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.*
      *Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed.* It conducts the Cold War, in short, with a war-time discipline no democracy would ever hope or wish to match.

    I totally agree we need some kind of Health Care reform bill. I'd prefer that it didn't involve as much government intervention as some people on the left are wanting though.
    But I think most of us can agree that the bill that passed in the House is far from what many of us wanted, or what the country needs. Passing a bill just to change the status quo is not the answer if it doesn't help the problem.

    E.R.'s are known for having a wide variety of triage nurses, some with quite an appetite for wielding their authority. So unless you have a large, jagged piece of steel shrapnel jutting out of your head, you risk dying of old age in the receiving area. Some triage nurses are actually quite good, but the majority are bitter and jaded, it is a tough job, in deference to them all.

    The consequence is, when you do not provide care at an early point, you condemn them to get way sicker or even die - which is really not making sense, when you look at it in a financial way.
    And the money is there. The top 10 or five percent, however you want to look at this, have a lot of it and they would not really miss some 10% tax

    Actually, they are legally obligated. "Fortunately, a federal law passed in 1986 to prohibit a practice commonly known as "patient dumping" gives you the right to emergency care regardless of your ability to pay." MSN Money - google "Know your emergency room rights". I work in the Healthcare IT industry, particularly with claims adjudication. I'm quite familiar with this law.

    So the official cause of death is "No Heath Insurance"? People don't die from no health insurance. People die from lack of care. And if you go to an ER, the law requires doctors and nurses in ER's to take care of you. Not everyone gets the care they need, but that goes with people with insurance too.

    I'd like to ask when people decided that they were entitled to Government provided Health Care?
    And I as understand it, under this new health care bill, we're still, as you put it..."condemning" 4% of the country. It is not the government's responsibility to make sure everyone is covered with health insurance.
    We could always just give the government 100% of our paycheck though, and then just ask them to take care of us completely.

  • @Weathered22
    @Weathered22 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    We might have the means to provide the care, but we definitely don't have the money. We're trillions of dollars in debt. We can't even afford the interest on all of our debt.
    As a country, we've maxed out our credit cards, and aren't even covering the minimum payments.
    And I never said the people who don't have insurance deserve to die, I just think it isn't the government's responsibility to pay for it. If you feel they need a helping hand, it's your right to lend them one.

  • @jerryengelbach

    Britain's NHS has problems, but this grossly misstates them. England has higher life expectancy, more hospital beds and more nurses per capita than the U.S.
    Japan, with a public health system, has the world's highest life expectancy.
    In the U.S., scores of millions are not covered. This country can do a lot better, learning from its own mistakes as well as those of others.
    However flawed, almost all public health systems are superior to the uncaring for-profit system in the U.S.
