- This is Congressman Alan Grayson questioning Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke on $550B of loans to foreigners (or 'central liquidity swaps' in Federal Reserve-ese').
Which financial institutions received this money? Bernanke's answer: I don't know.
As the Fed was lending this money, the dollar increased by 30% in value. Grayson asks, was this a coincidence? Bernanke's answer: yes.
I showed this video to my Mom and it made her cry.
These "Federal" reserve banksters are the worst kind of criminals and need to be brought to justice. Audit the fed, expose their fraud!

The Federal Reserve didn't GIVE OUT $500B. It was a swap, i.e. the foreign central banks bought US currency at the current exchange rate directly from the Federal Reserve, and agreed to buy it back at a specific date in the future. The Fed did this because they don't want people coming into the US market demanding money, as that would drive up interest rates. Instead, the central banks deal directly with each other, so the demand is more predictable and the effects can be mitigated.
The way Grayson phrases the second part of the question, though, makes it clear he doesn't know, or care to know, what a swap is. He thinks that the US just gave New Zealanders free money. That's not what happened.

The answers that Grayson keeps getting is "I don't know", everytime he asks the Fed bereaucrats about where the money has gone. This isn't the first time I seen this. This shit is sad and pathetic.

So basically Bernanke approved massive loans to other markets (which had to be repaid and are being repaid) so that they could continue to loan US dollars out so that these markets can exchange things in US dollars and exchange those dollars with American companies which helps the American economy while simultaneously reducing the pressure on US based lending institutions to drive up their own interest rates... but this guy is trying to make it sound like half a trillion went missing and this guy either doesn't understand or is trying to drag Bernanke into the mud over it?
I mean, I'm pissed off about the lack of regulatory change that occurred after 2008 too and how those bailouts made their way into executive bonuses, but that isn't Bernanke's fault, that's the fault of politicians who didn't push for significant legislative reforms because their campaigns are funded so heavily by financial institutions.
So, you are arguing it is fine for private bankers at Fed to give away public's tax dollars to foreign entities with no strings attached and all in hiding? How do we even know if they repaid since we don't even know who were they (borrowers)?
Rep Alan Grayson is asking questions to whoever happens to be at the helms of the Fed on behalf of American people. The American people and their Reps cannot question or get even answer to who the Fed is giving away money. In my business class, I had to give a powerpoint presentation about social responsiblity. I decided to do mine on the federal reserve and how they're not socially responsible. I showed him facts, graphs, charts, sources, etc. At the end he called me a consipracy theoriest for saying that the fed lost 16 trillion dollars and gave it to foregin banks as discovered by audit. I should of showed him this video
In order for Bernanke to answer the question about the Constitution, he would have to also admit that the Federal Reserve operates illegally, and the Federal Reserve Act is also illegal.

Bernanke didn't know the exact banks by heart, but the CRC most likely did know. How would they even be able to lend out money to a unknown receiver? When you lend out money, the fed is expecting to get a return of investment. That is how all lending works. That is why the lending practice is faulty, foreign or domestic. This is basic knowledge to the common man nowadays, still the lending continues.
