    I’ve never had a Burgundy but it sounds amazing.
    I’ve recently been introduced to Amarone through my career and I’d love to see an episode featuring some of your favourites perhaps? With your format of introduction, the nose, the palette and continued conversation about the history of the wine/vineyard etc I think it would be extra interesting ❤ cheers from Canada 🍷

      If you want to try Burgundy. By only wines from cote de Beaune. The are way to expensive for the quality nowadays but if you look really carefully it's possible to buy wines from cote du Beaune that are not insanely expensive and okay quality but avoid wines from cote de nuits. The price ridiculous expensive. Buy some high quality aussie pinot noir instead. They are reasonably priced and the quality is high if you buy from the best wineries

    I still remember paying less than $30 bottles each for a case of the 1996 vintage. It was nice introduction to Burgundy.
    For me Leroy is my favourite producer from Burgundy. It is too expensive and hard to procure now. The Romanée Saint Vivant I had from Leroy makes DRC Romanée Saint Vivant like a village wine in comparison.
    For me the Premier Cru Leroy is definitely on par with Rousseau Grand Crus.
    My best ever bottle of wine drank is a Leroy Grand Cru over 50 years old. The only Leroy that does not quiet live up to expectation for me is the Clos Vougeot.
    Cheers

    Bourgogne is not their entry level wine. They have a Gamay, Macon-Village, Coteaux Bourguignon (previously Bourgogne Grand Ordinaire before AOC), and even a Beaujolais all coming in at below 100 euros at release.

    I like the enthousiasm but... Do you realize this is not Domaine Leroy and the wine is not made by LBL? This is Maison Leroy, the Négoce branch of her business, not at all in the same league of Domaine. She just buys that wine and label it. This is also why it does not command the prices you would see on Domaine. If you research, the price you paid for it is totally normal and not a bargain (could actually argue you overpaid, see winesearcher,, this is less than EUR200 in Europe as this is really entry level Négoce).

      Hey mate! Angus here - I’ll wear responsibility for this as I watched the unedited version back and Carlos explains it. I took it out thinking we were going over ground we had already discussed but now realise the difference in what Carlos was saying. Rookie error on my behalf. Apologies to you and Carlos

    By the way. The. Leroy 2015 I had is a much better vintage than the 2014 you had and I forgot to mention that the Giants step wine I had is 100% pinot noir too and from your own country. Australia.

    • @GotSomme
      @GotSomme  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It's insane. I paid 85$ for this bottle in vintage 2015. Far less than you paid. I t was a good wine but not worth the money at the price I paid. At the price you paid its ridiculous. It's appellation Burgundy!!! And it's even only Madison Leroy.

    • @carlossimoes4812
      @carlossimoes4812 ปีที่แล้ว

      I truly would love to know where you would get this at $85 …
      Unless you are telling me you bought for $85 back in 2015?? That would make more sense…
      Nowadays Burgundy prices are very different, as you have mentioned… and plus in secondary market (where you can still get them) prices are much higher.

      @@carlossimoes4812 you can still get entry leroy for 100$ outside Australia, Australia burgundy price are double the other market because of the high tax

    • @hottuna2006
      @hottuna2006 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Price immediately goes up because they are small yield/production and sell out upon release. Only way to get them is through secondary markets thus the price rockets.
