    As a mechanical engineer for t last thirty years, much of what you go over is common knowledge to me, but your explanation is so good, I watch them all the way through and still pick up tricks. You do a great job explaining your reasoning and expectations. You are an an entertaining and educational talent. I look forward to your weekly updates. Looking exceptional, hopefully you can showcase your unique suspension and not hide it under the box.

    • @NotJustSawdust
      @NotJustSawdust ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And I was wondering; if the movement needed to be a bit "stiffer", would it be possible to put a shock absorber or "Gas Strut" on the other side of the watts link?

    • @ratrodsafrica
      @ratrodsafrica  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's no need to stiffen up the movement, the function is to keep the back axle centered.

    • @NotJustSawdust
      @NotJustSawdust ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ratrodsafrica I know, I do understand the concept (air suspension takes care of the vertical movement), but could the watts link also function - with shock absorbers on the other side of the links, horizontally in line exactly mounted like the links to the chassis, as a spring system? I guess the size of the in-out movement of the shocks would limit the vertical movement of the axle. (making the plans for a cycle car where there is obviously not much space - and the motor is mounted directly to the rear axle, going up and down as a unit). Just a thought to get alignment and spring function into one.
      But hey, I know I have to find out myself, that's the fun of it, as is finding parts and materials here in the middle of nowhere 🙂. Looking forward to the next video, all the best from the Lonesome Hill!
