    What do you guys think of the new Q-Sampler and Multi-Sampler?
    Personally I'm loving them... easy to use, modern UI, and have shaved tons of time from my workflow. Let me know what you like about them below 👇

    I really wish logic would just make this as easy as FL makes it in their program by letting us create actual glide notes. What are your thoughts on that?

    • @itstonyholiday
      @itstonyholiday  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yea, I’m pretty happy with the changes they made in 10.5 but there’s always room for improvement. Alchemy still works great so I’m not too mad about it.

    In the Logic Sampler, have you tried adjusting the ENV 1 Release, instead of the attack?
    What you're having there seems to be because of the release, not the attack.
    It just needs that tiny bit of release there to smooth things up in the tiny holes that you have between the notes.
    On the Alchemy the release might no be set so tight.
    Which makes sense for many reasons (for example when using looped synth oscillator wave forms; you'll have clicks going on all over the place with 0 sec attack & 0 release)
    BTW, I now see the Alchemy's release setting in your video, at 13min41sec: it's quite a long release there, while in Logic Sampler, you have a 0 sec release.

    • @itstonyholiday
      @itstonyholiday  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya not a bad shout. Will give it a try. Did you find it to work when you adjusted the release?

    I think you still need to set the polyphony to "1" in what you're calling the multi-sampler to avoid any re-trigger in addition to setting it to Legatto. Alchemy does sound great though!

    • @itstonyholiday
      @itstonyholiday  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can you elaborate? Curious to understand what you mean.
      Thanks for the comment! And I'm glad you liked the content.

    • @eriksonderlon
      @eriksonderlon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@itstonyholiday At 7:53 you switch the mode to Legato, which is what we want, but at the bottom of the Synth / Details tab, the Polyphony is still set to 16. This needs to be set to "1" to avoid a re-trigger. I know it seems redundant but this is the only way I could get it to glide properly.

    • @itstonyholiday
      @itstonyholiday  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@eriksonderlon Ah yes, that is my bad! I always change the polyphony when I do it with the multi-sampler but I must've edited that part out of the video.

    Hey Tony,
    Thanks for another brilliant vid. Just some food for thought, I recently saw a vid on the Abelton's new update and saw a pitch glide automation effect added in their MIDI editor. I havent tried it I Logic yet but I reckon you could achieve a similar effect there maybe?

      Hey Jordan! Thanks very much for the kind words and I'm glad you liked the content.
      For me personally I find myself going back to the same 5-10 808s once I've found ones that I like. My suggestion to you is to find sample packs on places like Splice, Reddit or other 3rd party packs and pick and choose the ones you would use most and put them in a folder. That way they're always ready to go and you don't have to spend too much time hunting.
      Cheers!
