I think as far as i know, in Japan when kids go to school at a young age they focus more on their social skills, functionality in a group, assigning cleaning duties, etc... I think that's why Japanese are good in a social or community setting.

@@Sam_Luy0 you can't generalize though. All East Asian nations strive to be the best especially in education because the pressure to get good high paying jobs is always there. You also have to think Japan is a small country with a highly educated population so competition is very high and not everyone can be a salary man despite all the qualifications. All that pressure can definitely cause mental problems but not everyone is hiding in their room with zero social life. I've met and worked with a lot of Japanese people. I'd say their dedication, discipline and high standards are definitely unmatched. Their culture emphasizes politeness, discipline and efficiency, which is reflected in the country's workforce. I'd say Pinoys can learn A LOT from the Japanese.

im a 90’s kid.. Teacher’s has a stick that used for punishing.. School class starts at 7 AM.. We speak English when it’s english class, Filipino for Tagalog language, Science and Math english speaking, we pay fine if we don’t speak as per subject class.. Way back in 90’s there is no such thing as child abuse, kids back then are more disciplined.. Everything now compare to before have a big gap.. i miss those days

NOT TRUE. It always depend on how big the school property is, facilities and the system that's being run by the school. I went to a montessori school in QC where we have the great outdoors and we were allowed to explore various fields, from agriculture, culinary, sports, arts, music, theater, etc.. Then I went to a "prep" school where sports and academics were highly emphasized. My cousins who went public schools in Northern Luzon were also exposed to various outdoor activities along with academics but a few of my cousins who went to smaller private schools were not able to have that experience.

I woke up at 3am and arrived home between 6 and 7pm since I was kindergarten to highschool, my school was 17km away and the unpredictable jeepney stops and traffic would take me 1-2 hours of commuting, so I had to do my homework in between breaks between classes and lunch breaks. Still, I consider myself lucky since I get to ride jeepneys unlike other kids who live in the mountains where they have to wake up early and walk.

Filipina here. I grew up in the rural/province. I went to our barangay's elementary school. Our classes start at 7:30am and end around 4:40 to 5pm, no Saturday classes though. But, we usually wake up at 5 am and go to school around 6:30-7:00 am because we have cleaning duties even in the afternoon before going home. The school is walking distance. Then, in high school, my siblings and I attended a Catholic school, and the only way to go is through a school bus or we as we call it 'service/serbis'. We would be picked up at 5-5:30 am because we have to leave at 6 am. Our barangay is very far from my school. The class schedule is still the same 7:30 to 5pm. So, during high school, we woke up at 3 a.m. or 4 a.m., and then we get home at 6pm. I still have to cook rice for dinner then do the dishes after meal. Then do homework and projects, then sleep. I usually sleep 10pm or latest 11pm. Then repeat the same schedule. During high school, I had a hard time getting up in the morning coz I only had 4-5 hours of sleep. Good thing we had no Saturday classes.

I remember my elem and high school days, I studied in private school so we are obliged to bring our books at home. In elem days, it is a struggle to pull my stroller bag since our house is near to our school and I have to walk home. On high school days, my back is aching because I have to bring 10 books everyday 😂😅 at the end of the day, someone or our teacher checks our room to make sure that no books are left. If they found one, they'll throw it to the trash can and you'll never see it again 😂😂

In my country I used the school bus to go to school. It only took around 30 mins to ride to school. But I had to wake around 5:30 am or 5am to get ready as the school bus pick up time was 6:15am and the school started at 7am for all students. Basically at 7am the school gates would close and nobody could go in anymore.

In Japan, kids in primary school only learn basic stuff like some kanji, some math, Japanese class, art, and school duties such as cleaning, club activities, etc.

As someone who lives and teaches in japan bit is Australian and has Cambodian/Chinese background allow me to throw information here.
I wonder where the hell Rio is from becuase the kids I’ve taught in Tokyo carry all of their books and you see them struggling on the train. I’ve had a couple of kids commute for about an hour just to get to their schools. I do feel like once you get out of Tokyo, the vibe of school changed and it’s so laid back.
I also feel the club activities are there so children learn how to make friends. In fact, I feel like that’s how a lot of socializing happens in Japan as you don’t really mix your friendship groups. Eg club friends, high school friends, University friends, etc.
Meanwhile in Australia it was 8:45 to 3:15 for me. I did no extra curricular activities because I didn’t want to them even though my parents made me do Chinese and Kumon briefly but I hated it. Thank god we had lockers too. Carrying all the books around would be hell. That and there were buses if you lived far away but kids could also commute to school via public transport or walking

Wait, what? No sports here? While in our elem. School we have alot of team competing in so many sports competition (City meet, district meet, stacaa then palarong pambansa) even in "SIPA", all public schools are like that, i guess she never experienced the public school life 😅 good video tho, baliw-baliw talaga si jinho, LT lagi sakanya e 😂

I think Issa girl is relatively privileged compared to many of us, not that it's a bad thing tho but speaking from a public-school graduate point of view who happened to be in Tondo which is known to be 'not safe', ligtas naman kaming naglalakad papasok ng 4AM nung elem ta's lalakad pauwi sa tanghali kase just like what Jinho said, mas marami yung pumipili ng school na walking distant here in Manila, napipilitan lang mapalayo ung iba due to overpopulation. Nung nasa college ako madalas ako makakita ng mga deaf-mute na elementary student na nagjijeep ~so it's not unsafe nor safe kase yung safety mo nakasalalay sa awareness mo sa paligid. I also witnessed corporal punishment Jinho was talking about and that was around 2008 dadapa ka sa mesa tas papaluin ka pag nailista ka sa board ng noise officer kase maingay ka.
About sa early call time, I guess it was rooted from the fact that overpopulated nga kase around Manila and Greater Manila Area so hinahati nila sa umaga at hapon ang schedule ng mga estudyante. That's why parang iba yung way sa mga province na they are in school most of the day while in Manila hanggang tanghali lang. So, elementary wala masyadong extracurricular not until highschool kase dun na hanggang 3pm to 7pm ang klase. I think she's out of touch sa mga ganitong situation kase sa private school sya nag aaral
