Do NOT be proud of having "mythical creatures" they are demons or devils. Go read the Bible.

During in pre colonial days of ph there was a spirit called daligmata, they were offin assisting the babaylan to find the lost person or thing and the souls whom have an ill,.. for this they were considered to be benevolent spirit, and babaylan can call them during the night, this mythical creature can be discribed of a body of a cat or dog that has an eyes all over its body,...

For me I like Tikbalang cause it's really unique. The fireflies which dictates it's presence. Their golden hair which when pulled, you can use it to control them. And the concept of when you get lost, you need to flip your shirt.

I think Japan also have the guardian deities in mythology. Suzaku (phoenix), Byako (white tiger), Seiryu (azure dragon), Genbu (turtle)

The 4 legendary beasts is based on Chinese Mythology, it's not in Japanese Mythology. If you basing this to Fushigi Yuugi, remember they were transported in a book based in ancient China.

The segment really showed how powerful and influential pop culture is in changing norms and traditions. Case in point, when they mentioned the mananaggal rubbing herßelf with oil was onlt present in the movie "Shake, Rattle & Roll" and no where else it mentioned. It was the scriptwriters idea same with using the image of a beautiful woman to portray the manananggal as the stories about them usually feature old ladies like how witches are usually portrayed also.

Philippines mythological stories are often set in the provinces. Those set in urban areas are thoae that live in trees and few presences of nature like Tikbalang and Kapre that live in trees (inside house/land properties and along the road), and engkanto. Nuno sa punso, too! But more often than not, horror stories involving mythological creatures are set in the provincial areas.
Urban horror stories are more centered on ghosts that died horrible deaths (unfortunate accidents and violent crimes) and have died from the Spanish colonial era to the most recent times. Like the friar/priest with the severed head or the nun without a face shrouded in black both from the Spanish Colonial times; the Japanese soldier from the Japanese colonial era; the phantom screams of people who died in a bus freak accident (falling from a cliff and exploding); apparitions of individuals riding public transport in the middle of the night only to disappear at a particular point because they don't know they are already dead. Stuff like that.

The self segmenting monsters are more common in southeast asia, Manananggal in Philippines, Krasue in Indonesia, Penanggalan in Malaysia. Nukekubi is also something similar in Japan where the head detaches from the body to hunt for blood.

the subjects thatall orf you choose seem kinda blah but when each person talks it ends up interestingso i think you 4 make a great team as blah as the subject may seem i actually become interested and ebjoy all of you take turns.i think the way each of you interact is what makes the storytelling that much more effective and in / also each storyteller have different approach when storytelling so it doesnt seem boring and i feel like each story or each creature or demon is familar or similar to each others culture.Good job to all of you!! i also wanna say that both girls are so good at gettig my attention because both are so pretty! Jinho is fun to listen to but also knows how to get your attention .. Rio is really chill but can be a good story teller too.

tiktik is real. not the monster (dunno/maybe). but when my mother is pregnant with our youngest and when midnight there is always this sound on the roof tik-tik-tik i still remember that as a kid and goes outside to throw something on our roof they say salt and pieces of walis ting ting i did that. i think it is a bird or some sort. now. every house has a 2nd floor here and some have 3rd floor and full of subdivision. they have nowhere to go. and everyone has a gun or some sort. aswang na matatakot lumabas. wala pang cellphone nun to record or even camera mayayaman lang meron nun dati. and watch someone exorcist a female kid na sinapian, hanep iba boses na lumabas dun sa bata, (bata pa din ako nun haha) gamit nung albularyo e balahibo ng manok, (tandang ata pula itim na balahibo e) pinahidpahid sa muka nagwawala na iba boses.
