- All the bonus stages from the original Sonic the Hedgehog completed. Of course, in the original game there were only six Chaos Emeralds. The seventh Chaos Emerald and Super Sonic first appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, I believe....

Whoever invented this special stage was either crazy, or high AF. It's like some kind of psychedelic induced dreamy absurdity. I still love it to this day, great music too, so addictive.
You're exactly right because my theory is that stage is modeled after 4th density (dream realm) the stage that seperates earth from the heavens. The emeralds are just your soul's transmigration process to it's higher self. Notice the birds morph into fishes etc
I believe the dream-like absurdity of the music and the gameplay was because one of the devs was high on something. lol
i think is just imaination, drugsa are for losers.

this is almost exactly how some of our hallucinations on dxm look, but it's slower and the colors are more "substantial" than the hallucinations

I loved these segments. They were so surreal and dazzling. A fair number of Sega games had that dreamy art design.
Nights, Space Harrier, Ecco the Dolphin, Alex Kidd, Altered beast, Gunstar heroes, Columns. And of course the whole Sonic universe. Even alot of the title box art with the blue grid.

Not only does ecco have a amazing design it also has a plot that sounds like someone dropped acid
Agreed, I found Ecco The Dolphin to be especially 'other-worldly' and fantastical. Beautiful.

The amount of patience this guy has is crazy. I always end up just mashing the jump button and holding left or right desperately hoping I get to the emerald lmao
I played this when I was a kid so I was super bad at these levels. I don't think I ever actually got any of the chaos emeralds so it's not only fun to hear the music again but also very satisfying seeing someone collect them all
This helped alot, after several years, finally got them all, THANK YOU!

The Goal thing was an odd glitch I was always thankful for as a kid.
I love how they made sure to get a continue before getting the Emerald.

I don't know why but when I first played this game I was actually afraid of the bonus levels because of the realistic looking animals and for music, Specially the birds though.

at 0:19 I saw a goal barrier... and at 1:17 Sonic almost falls into it...so sush! :D lol
I've actually landed on the goals and jumped off them somehow. It's a very shit-your-pants moment when it happens, so I think he actually could haave landed on them.
And even if he did, does it matter? I think the point of the video was to show people who are very bad at these levels (i.e me) or just people in general what the rest of the levels look like.
do you need to get 50 coins on every single level to get all chaos emeralds or can you miss some?
Countless hours playing this always got 5 but to concerned about collecting all the rings. Glad somebody figured the it out. Go after the emerald
These were by far the most fun and captivating levels as a kid, but also could never finish them

These special levels confused me a lot when I was younger I’m not an adult but my uncle had a sega genesis from his time that still worked now my cousin has it passed down to him and it’s a cool thing to play with

Im gonna tell everyone sumthin funny. Because of this stage, i've grown fear of being out in the wide open. When i was a kid i had a dream i was in the bonus stage minus the rotaing arena. I was floating in the middle of nowhere and the music would get louder and louder which struck more fear. All i wanted was Emeralds, instead i was trapped in that fuckin bonus stage

@C.Sonic The Hedegehog you Can't do that in the mobile version, you need Debug mode for that
The ending implies that Eggman is after the chaos emeralds too, and letting any of the emeralds fall into his hands leads to a phyrric victory.
However, if you get all the chaos emeralds then beat Eggman, then Eggman's faliure is complete, and you completely defeat him at the end of the game.
@@BlizzardandBlaze And if it doesn't he laughs saying that you failed to get all the emeralds and he juggled those things in front of you.
You will complete the game normally but you won't get super. You still need all the Emeralds to complete the game or it will say "try again".

I played this 25 yrs ago with my cousins. Whoever dies gets switched. I almost beat the game but died on the last part which is dr. Robotnic sadly the one whos turn next beat robotnic and cleared the game.😢

@legoman1234567890123 You just get a better ending. In the Genesis sequels, you can become Super Sonic, and most of the 3D ones have 'em as part of the plot.
