Very cool interview with Gregory Harrison and I love red river with John Wayne and I love the remake of red river with James arness . John wayne and James arness are legends for ever . 👍👏🏜
Gregory Harrison is a marvelous guest. Almost every bit of information was new to me. I agree you should definitely have him back and team him up with Bruce Boxleitner . They are both consumate storytellers who would have the audience rolling in the aisles. I very much enjoyed this episode.
You pulled some magic out of your hat with this one Rob.. completely unexpected, an absolutely enjoyable interview from an unexpected source, Gregory Harrison..wow.
Wow, what a great interview. I loved hearing the history and stories and thought it was awesome that he had the opportunity to talk to James Arness about their shared passion for surfing. Gregory Harrison is a very talented man. I do hope we get to hear more from him in the future. Thank you for sharing these wonderful interview with us.
Such a fine actor. Greg has some great anecdotes of movies and people he's worked with. I was working as a park ranger at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado when they were filming Centennial there. Later got to visit some other shooting locations like Bent's Old Fort. Had the opportunity to have the late Robert Conrad who played Pasquinel autograph my Centennial DVD box many years later. Great tv miniseries.
"Is the kid here?" 😂 What a wonderful discussion. I've recently been watching Gregory Harrison on General Hospital, it's great to see him doing this. Didn't realize he was so funny.👍
Gregory Harrison is a consummate story teller so directing is a natural transition his story of John Wayne is just an example as are his stories of Jim Arness. Thanks Rob for another great episode.
Kind of forget about some actors. He was great and I do remember watching him back when. Loved his stories - especially John Wayne (my all time favorite). Please have him back.
What a fun interview. Greg looks great. I loved him in Centennial. Centennial was a great collection of character actors and beautiful scenery. I’m delighted when I see Gregory in Hallmark and other productions where Greg usually steals the show from the younger male lead. Can you tell I’m a fan!
I loved the mini series. Some favorite characters were Pasquinel, Jake Pasquinel and of course, several other characters played by Brian Keith, Richard Chamberlain, Gregory Harrison, Alex Karas, Dennis Weaver etc.
Just watched your film. The music was really good. And I lived in Laguna Beach and only got to go to Catalina once when I was 12. Still want to go back with my cousins for a reunion.
Another great interview, Rob! I have always liked Gregory Harrison, especially in "Centennial" which I watch every year or so. I have the original "Red River" on DVD and I watched the remake; there are things that I like about both. I always thought that Montgomery Cliff was miscast, and preferred Bruce Boxleitner. Gregory Harrison was good too. I will have watch it again and look for the cameos, and maybe look for Greg in "The Glass-Bottomed Boat" as I am a fan of Rod Taylor and Doris Day. 😂😅😊 Gregory Harrison is a great storyteller. 👍👍 Please bring him back!
Another excellent interview Rob. With Gregory a very entertaining guest . Gregory made a western of a different kind when he went over to Australia in the early 80s battling a killer pig and wild Australian character actor David argue in Razorback
Rob, thanks for the Ear-to-Ear grins, while watching this Biomentary. (Is that a knew word now, for video interviews of Biographies?) 👍👍 10⭐ 11:30 Yuppers, Greg nailed it about filming.
Gregory Harrison seems like an all-around nice guy. Love his John Wayne and Virgil Vogel impressions! (Not too many people my age - I'm only 32 - have heard of Vogel, though he directed episodes of numerous classic TV shows like Wagon Train, Bonanza, The Big Valley, and Mission: Impossible.) Cary Grant was considered for the role of Cherry Valance in the original movie version of Red River, which was given to John Ireland. Most TV western junkies out there know that Ty Hardin, whom Gregory Harrison worked with in Red River (alongside James Arness and Bruce Boxleitner, filling John Wayne and Montgomery Clift's shoes, respectively), was under contract to Warner Bros., starring as Bronco for four years. Guy Madison and John Lupton headlined two non-Warners oaters, Wild Bill Hickok and Broken Arrow, respectively. (Coincidentally, both shows ended their runs in 1958, the year Bronco hit the airwaves.)
He's still a stud after all these years. I've got the entire Centennial mini-series recorded off the Western Channel saved on my DVR. I go back and watch portions from time to time. It's comforting nostalgia to remember what a big deal that series was in the late 70's.
Wonderful interview Rob !!Never knew there was a remake of Red River .was just watching the John Wayne Montgomery Clift version today ! Gregory tells some fascinating stories !What an amazing life he has had. Thanks Rob . 🎉🎉🎉
Oh wow, this is definitely a I have to watch this again! Such a great interview!!! I need to look for Red River 1988 (?), and Centennial, back in those days I didn't care for westerns. What a wonderful personality, Gregory has, very charming too! True story: Back in 1980, I accepted a date with my 1st husband because he was a sweetheart, and resembled Gregory so much!!! 😊 Hope you do have him back again! 👍👍
I came in off of the tractor hauling firewood and seen your video had just uploaded. You Always do Great interviews. So I had to stop to watch. It was time well spent. A Very Entertaining interview to both you and your guest. Best Wishes from Montana! M.H.

Great interview, red river, only seen the old one, and that movie is one of favorite films with John Wayne, Willem tell, errol flynn only 20 min, in a private collection, thanks lord Rob Word of Word on Westerns laird of Word manor your friend tom now and always,
Wish I could give this interview two likes! and I really enjoyed Centennial. Watched it for the first time during Covid. Although the last part when they are in the modern times with Andy Griffith was not the best.
Ha ha ha Broken pee pee. I always did like Gregory Harrison and hope he continues to make much more shows and movies in the future. I've had catheters too-twice, so I feel his pain.
@@AWordonWesterns Yessir. I had one when undergoing a recent brain surgery. I had to remain awake to answer the surgeons questions. What should've been a 5 hour op-turned out to be 7.
Not normally a fan of remakes, especially of classics impossible to improve upon like RR. That said, bringing older icons of the genre into the production much in the manner that Mel Gibson's Maverick (not a remake, but more of a character reprise like those later Lone Ranger clunkers) did, made Gregory's and Mel's films worth watching on a different level and most enjoyable to see for that alone. Hawks always denied cutting Ireland's scenes because of the Dru romance, but that's the common assumption to explain Cherry's rather abrupt near disappearance till the film's final shootout. And (till juss now I never thought uh this before) maybe even partly explaining Wayne's survival as Dunson in the end... thus robbing Ireland of the distinction of killing Wayne the way the original Borden Chase story was written and the ending the studio wigs expected before Hawks changed it. Good thing Hawks didn't have a girlfriend relationship with Shelly Winters (who was an uncredited extra in the film) whom Ireland allegedly had a thing going with too, or it mighta been Walter Brennan who finally shot Wayne.
I want to know where I can Buy the Fountain Of Youth potion that Gregory Harrison is using. Thanks ROB for another interview. I loved Harrison's John Wayne voice
Very interesting interview with a lot of fascinating back stage stories. Your home work always stimulates the conversation and elicits very interesting anecdotes. In the next interview can you ask him about his secret to staying so young and how he met his wife?
I've thought often that at end of Big Jake after Dick Boone has his final lines and gets shot you see Maureen OHara standing there with a rifle and says not hardly.

Thanks, Jim. I sure enjoy having Gregory as a guest. Seeing him reunite with Box was special for all of us that day.
Totally agree, this was very enjoyable. Could have listened to him for an hour. Imagine John Wayne calling out for you over 3 years.
Wow. What a great interview. Mr Harrison's story about John Wayne was priceless. I hope you have him back sometime. Thanks Rob.
Another wonderful interview, Rob! It is such a pleasure to listen to Gregory Harrison reflect on his career and personal experiences.
Thank you Rob - my Sunday ritual is complete. Have a good week my friend.👍👍👍
Thanks for the extraordinary interview. What great storytelling. 🤠
I love the Red River remake. I too would like to see Gregory and Bruce Boxleitner together on this show.
Centennial one of my all time favorite mini series. I still binge watch it every couple years.
Thanks Rob! That was a lot of fun!
You pulled some magic out of your hat with this one Rob.. completely unexpected, an absolutely enjoyable interview from an unexpected source, Gregory Harrison..wow.

Gregory Harrison was a great guest! I’ve always wanted to learn the acting craft but haven’t had enough confidence to take the plunge
He is so handsome and personable. I loved his stories, especially his interactions with John Wayne as a teen clothes salesman.
great John Wayne stories by Gregory, loved hearing them
Me, too, Mark
Fantastic interview, Rob! I’ve always liked Gregory (Gonzo) Harrison. He’s really good at telling stories. The John Wayne story was hilarious!
Great interview, Rob. Thank you so much for bringing these people to the public.

why you would ever remake Red River was beyond me. I love Arness but it's pointless.

sorry but i see no reason to remake red river. sorry but arness is not wayne and boxleitner not clift and the director no hawks.
