    Very helpful video, just found a 110 super complete and rebuildable, into the motor now, I don’t think it has been abused or used much, impressive how overbuilt everything is compared to what we have now, don’t know anyone into these cool old machines, so my path is new learning about this world, looking forward to mowing with this sweet little overbuilt unit

    Watched this after picking up my 68 112 (I believe it’s 68). Guess it’s a good thing I bought her as a project.

    I remember the black flies & deer flies, back in Michigan when I was growing up.
    -they were vicious!

    My late dad owned my 110 from 77 to 2019.. been working it like a dog the last 3 years since his passing. Old reliable.
    Edit. 1969 4 speed variable speed. Deck only as of now

    Back when they made these things, they should’ve made it with a steel spline insert on the hub. So it literally won’t wear out, or just put some grease on the spline.

      But if they did that then you wouldn’t come back to the dealership and have to spend money and order new replacement parts

    Do you have a video of rebuilding the rear end? I would love some literature on that. I hope to referbish a 120 in a month or so.

    The tecumsehs are good, but the ignition on it is a pain in the ass when it breaks, you can make your own with car parts tho. You can’t buy the carb for the old tecumsehs any more, just buy a Kohler carb that matches the HP. I’ve seen people do it, I gotta say those old
    Tecumsehs are pretty beastly when I fired my 16hp on starting fluid.

    Friend of mine has a 112L hydrostatic. Mower deck switch has been finicky. He recently jump started it. Subsequently, mower switch won’t engage mower deck at all now.
    Coincidence? Or might there be a fuse or relay I need to check that could have been knocked out with the boost? Thanks

    • @hamiltonshomelites4489
      @hamiltonshomelites4489  ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be anything check if there’s any fuses then I’d look at the switch itself

    I have an older 212 and I changed both the drive belts about a year half /two years ago and last winter I went to plow snow and The back wheels just spin more than they ever have,,,I’m wondering would my splines in my spindles/hubs be bad or do I need to readjust my variator again???

    • @hamiltonshomelites4489
      @hamiltonshomelites4489  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jack it up and wiggle wheel and see how much play you have but also too use the variator to help slow down wheel speed in that gear

    The 110 got the 10hp in 1972 till 1974/end of 110/112 era. so the original 110 RF had a 7 or 8 hp.

    • @hamiltonshomelites4489
      @hamiltonshomelites4489  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael Benoit You could still get a 8hp till 1973

    • @michaelbenoit248
      @michaelbenoit248 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hamiltonshomelites4489 , true it might have been an option until then. I didnt say you couldn't get a 110 with a 8hp though.
      quite frainkly the 10 & 12 hp are pretty much the same motor, the only diference is the flywheel. so you could convert a 10hp to a 12.
