    ... I have played in my 10 X 20' polly high hoop greenhouse now over thirty years ... I remember the 1,000,000 marigold year....man I thought heck Everyone will want these ... NOPE not the case ... but I had them planted everywhere on my property ... then there was the gutter garden phase ... worth looking into too ... tip ... buy a cotton mop head and use the strands as wicks ... started garden plants for all the neighbors vegetable gardens ... made a few bucks on that idea too ...
    I wish you all the best luck... and remember the more you grow ... the more you know ... bigger is usually just as involved as smaller ... so go big as you can ... be safe ...Peace out ...

    Awesome little green house! Finally got the tables built for my little house an momma likes it. I was surprised how much room my 15x6.6x6.6 gave us! Can't wait for some green house videos so I can learn along side of you. I worked in a greenhouse as a young kid years ago and remember a lot from those days but I never stop learning. Hope your back is feeling better.

    My "best husband in the world", built a harbor Feight 10 x 20 for me over the summer/ fall. I'm in zone 5 -6 NY and am very excited to use it this coming Spring 2022. He reinforced it with 2 by 4s. the snow load here would crush it if he didn't.

    I want a greenhouse similar to your. But I want a polycarbonate roof and low walls and the roll up sides but I also plan to have mine alot taller and cemented end walls. I will be putting in screen inside the roll up windows to keep the bugs to a minimum. I've got weed lots for the floor. I don't want the benches because I'm in a wheelchair and I don't want to block myself from any of my floor space. I also want my greenhouse much wider and a bit longer, but I already have my pipe

    Thanks for the greenhouse setup video. My husband and I and our son could definitely do this. I've got the catalogs ordered to spur that idea into motion. He's told me for the past few years he would build me one...still waiting. 1 storage building and his shop later still waiting. My greenhouse is definitely next. Thanks fir including the reasoning for the plastic vs the polycarbonate, the side rollers, and the white vs clear. (It will make my presentation go alot smoother and make me sound like I know what I'm doing. Lol he's already scratching his head on the cover crop idea. 🤣I just tell him watch and learn. Thanks for all the great videos!

    It's so much easier having a greenhouse for seed starting. I bought a cheap harbor freight on and it was so incredible how much easier seed starting is versus using lights indoors. I have a few other projects to get done, but I already bought the plastic for a 10 x 16 cattle panel style hoop house. I have a plan in mind but it will be at least a year before i can get it done. For now the little harbor freight one works just fine. I'm sure y'all are excited to have one at y'all's place now.

    Done!!!
    Just finished canning 68 quarts of home grown- homemade tomato juice! Actually finished last night and slept a little bit. This years garden did very good for me. And it’s been really fun and interesting. We had such a wet beginning that I was two weeks late getting planted. Then came the dry days. 3plus weeks without a drop. Hose water will get ya through but it’s just not rain. I’m down to the late corn and okree in my spring garden and just now planting fall stuff.

    That's a first class unit there. Well thought through design and sturdy components. Spendy, but worth the money. I could get that up in a week on my own probably. When you get a dozen or so of the big 162 trays cooking in there, you'll be hittin' on eight again. Kelly green with envy.

    some time ago was planning to set up a great big greenhouse to cover my little plot but, i've since changed my mind.
    a single shelf in my garden is enough for my modest seed starting needs.
    your beaut new greenhouse has enough bench to supply seedlings for many large plots.
    there's probably a formula out there for how many trays to supply seedlings for how much dirt.
    enjoy

    • @LazyDogFarm
      @LazyDogFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I guess that formula would depend on what kind of trays you were using. I can fit at least 10 162/338 trays on each side, so you could figure at least a few thousand transplants at one time could be grown in there.

    hey Travis - be careful about burning that brush pile too close to your new greenhouse. Those hot embers could fall on top of the greenhouse plastic and melt a few holes. (I had a close call with this once, but caught it before things got too out of control)

    • @LazyDogFarm

      Yeah I'm probably going to need to move my burn pile. Gonna have to burn this on a day with no wind and burn it very slow.

    • @LazyDogFarm
      @LazyDogFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I need to look at that again. Not sure which way it's supposed to go without the fan component in there. I was questioning whether the fan sucked air in or blew it through to the other side.

      @@LazyDogFarm I’m planning to build a Chinese greenhouse, as I have a ravine (with multiple springs 😁) that runs east and west. I already have a solid south facing slope to anchor it on that I can excavate storage rooms in, and am working on designing the passive solar heat exchanger for daily and seasonal temperature moderation. This is a not a “get rich quick” but a retirement project; I have looked forward to it for decades.

    When do I need to pull my seeds I have started off the heat mats?

    • @LazyDogFarm
      @LazyDogFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don't need the heat mat to start another tray, you can leave them there if you like. They will grow faster with warmer soil on the mat. Just make sure it doesn't get too hot and that you keep them watered. The cells will dry out faster while on the mat.
