  • The CMTC is the pride of the Canadian Army. Set deep in the plains of Alberta, there is nothing like this in the world. The military has turned 640 square kilometers into a virtual Afghanistan.
Using state of the art lasers, computers, actors and at least 8 simulated villages - the Army is training large numbers of soldiers combat drills for the real world. Join Truth Duty Valour with members of the Royal 22nd Regiment as they train for deployment. Next stop … Afghanistan.

My hat's off to those make up artists. They do a good job in simulating the wounds and injuries

Its similar to our National Training and Joint Readiness Training Center's at Forts Irwin and Polk. As a matter of fact your guys have systems similar to our MILES system. Fort Irwin would make those guys think that they're actually there.

Not removing boots before entering a mosque is considered very rude in afghan culture, that's for sure. But exploding a bomb van in the middle of a market zone is also considered very rude in the canadian culture.

Another input on wes. You can still fire your weapon but it will shut off the lazer and you get one annoying alarm if you dont lay down and play dead

How is it different than what we have at Ft Irwin NTC? I forget what we call it cause it's been a while, but the WES thing looks exactly like what we have.

Interesting how Canada has allowed women in combat units for decades yet I don't see one female Soldier going through the numbers in this training exercise.

They are less seen in infantry and Mechanized unit, they are more seen in supply roles rather than direct heavy combat

Funny, but other day I saw Canadian women jumping through windows first before the men.
Their smaller and quicker and just as tough.
