  • During the past century, citizen soldiers, or reservists, have been the backbone of the Army. Today, Army Reservists are critical to the success of Canada’s overseas deployments and missions. They have also played a pivotal role during emergencies at home, such as the flooding of the Red River in Manitoba and the Ice Storm in Ontario and Quebec. We join members of Army Reserve units in the Maritimes as they train during one of their biggest exercises of the year and learn what it takes to be a Canadian citizen soldier!

      Yeah won't happen this was went con were in power. Liberals don't care about the military. They are trying to destroy it. So they won't draw any attention to the cf.
      It's sad that most Canadians don't even know we have a military

    This used to be called the militia. Now for some reason this is a dirty word. It's not. Civilians that are willing to defend there country are the Militia or reservist and Militia should not be a dirty word.

      It's because the word militia was ruined by crazy Americans. In the US it's used to described armed groups of people who are looking to overthrow the government, so with its new modern meaning it sounds strange describing the reserve force as a militia.

    If I was a lane walker, I would have filled out more than just several sheets work of critique for the fire teams, squads, and platoons. They need to spread out more between each other and learn to seek cover. Also casualties should have been handled last until you clear the area. Walking at the low ready rather than the modified low ready with their eyes down the sights in the warehouse when they know the enemy are there. Lastly, that women at the parking lot with that artillery unit was horrible in her weapons handling and movements.

    So do the Reserves still do the BMQ training first and then this or do they just go straight to this training?

    • @TheNexusVoid

      Chelsea Metcalfe bmq for reservists is held at a local reserve Base every Tuesday and 1 weekend a month

    • @joe_blo45
      @joe_blo45 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      in quebec its actually 12 weekends in the winter. Then i do the infantry training which is 2 months in summer

    • @macadamia668
      @macadamia668 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you still do BMQ like any military member. It use to be 8 weeks or more out in the field. Now they compressed it down to 3 weeks in field and 6 weeks at your home unit.

    • @make-trix4036
      @make-trix4036 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chelsea Metcalfe depends where your from but usually you do BMQ in the summer for about a month then do your trade training which for Infantry is around 2 and 1/2 months. You can do weekend BMQ if you miss the summer but it takes like all year.

      If the female is able to pass physical requirements then of course you will be deployed... though over 50% of female infantry candidates do not pass PT requirements for Infantry.

    why do they just run into rooms like that guns blazing? is this normal? in my opinion there would be quite a few casualties. weren't they allowed to use flash bangs or any type of simulated grenades ?

    I have been involved in this kind of training. To get the real effect would be to use air soft guns. It don't kill but you know you are hit. Plus you can tell the medic where you got hit. There will be a welt on you skin. Using blanks like we did don't show you who was hit and where. Air soft does.I go hit in the kidney on the last game.
