    I'm Mexican and my best friend is Korean, and when we lived together we cooked food that was so spicy that no one else could use the kitchen for hours until it was aired out. I bet Mexican-Korean fusion cuisine could be bomb as hell. My best friend and I sort of made it a few times out of necessity by combining whatever ingredients we had together and making Mexican-Korean stews for example.

      @Vladimir Преображенский It is very different because the Koreans were already civilized, the Spanish invasion was not an invasion at all, the Spanish simply colonized the land and then the Native Americans annexed this civilization, practically when the Spanish colonists became independent from the kingdom there were still 3 million of free natives, who joined the Mexican civilization and multiculturalism began
      take philipines as an example, they joined the spanish civilization but they use the same lenguages and theyr names are strange like mixed, they are no single white philipines like us, as i know

    If they're in Korea then that means that they don't have all the Mexican ingredients for every mexican dish but they did what they could to find the closest to the ideal dish. I think Korea doesn't sell Serrano peppers, Habanero or Jalpeños I'm not sure but if they did, most Koreans would love them. Also glad that they finally said that Taco Bell isn't mexican food I know most Koreans confuse that with actual Mexican food but thanks for clearing that up!

      @@MayDay90 That was I was wondering if there was a trade out there in Korea so it's in Itaewon. But are they just in that city or they export them all throughout Korea? If they do have all the Mexican ingredients then there has to be a small portion of Mexican food or restaurants out there we just don't hear about them. I knew Mexican food isn't big there because not many know how to cook/make traditional food but I've seen a TH-cam video where there is this Korean guy who owns a Mexican restaurant in korea that used to live in the US and speaks Spanish worked with a couple of Mexicans and learned the culture. I believe it was a taco shop he owns and that he wants to introduce Mexican food culture to Korean people having all sorts of delicious Mexican food. He had tacos, burritos quesadillas, jarritos, enchiladas and tamales etc.. I think. But that's the spot that I'm talking about. If we brought more Mexican food culture to Korea I'm sure they would love the tacos consisting of Birria(beef/goat meat cooked in a broth with consomé), Al pastor(marinated pork) Cabeza (cows head), lengua(beef tongue), tripas(intestines), buche(Cows stomach), carnitas (pork), pollo🐔, chicharon(fried pork skins) And carne asada(flap meat).

    I feel like Mexicans and Koreans have so much in common in terms of culture, food, and even language. I live in Arizona and worked at a sushi restaurant for a few years with Mexican chef's and they are the most down to earth people I've ever met (I was the only Asian chef, ironically). One thing I admire greatly about Mexicans is their work ethic. They don't seem to get tired at all. It's probably all that tequila. They taught me a lot of bad words too! I miss them vatos

      There was a video here on TH-cam about Latin Asians, how many asians grew in Latin American countries and vice versa so it's ironic after watching that I see this. Asian and Latin countries have so much in common from their cultures, foods, interactions with families, work ethics, etc.

      C T It depends of the place but mostly it consist of tortillas tostadas, tomato sause or some kind of green sause and the sause can be spicy if you want, cheese (queso fresco), in the video the guy put chicken, when we prepare them in my house we also put some avocado, cream (in mexico is called crema fresca so the literally translation is fresh cream) and mashed beans and I also forgot that some people also put some kind of scrambled egg at the top of it, but as i told you before, it depends a lot of the place where are you eating them, I hope it helps :)

    This is so much better than so many other episodes where they just place food in front of people from another culture. They don't explain how it is suppose to be eaten. The food isn't even prepared in the way it typically is for the culture they are suppose to be experiencing. And no remedies are given to for the complaints the people who are trying the food have. Having the person from the culture cook it and explain it. So much better.

    For anyone interested in the history of tacos😊...
    Let’s jump back to the origin of tacos. This amazing dish is a historical symbol of Mexican culture and it’s gastronomy. A taco is based on a corn or wheat tortilla with a wonderful variety of fillings. It's unknown the origin of tacos, but it is believed they were created in Mexico. The word taco comes from the náhuatl ‘tlahco’ which means “half or in the middle'', referring to the shape of the taco. In the 1800, hispanic females would send men who would work on the fields, food wrapped in a tortilla. It wasn't until 1908, Morelos Mexico brought emergence in the famous Taco acorazados: tortilla, a bedding of rice, and finally the topping. In 1950 Tlaxcala Mexico brought the iconic ‘tacos de canasta’, people carrying a basket full of tacos would go out to the streets and sell. From there on, many varieties of tacos exist like: beef, pork, chicken, seafood, vegetables, cheese, and many more.
    Comment your favorite dish and it's history!
    Thank you for reading🥰

    I just want everyone to be aware that the guy who made "chilaquiles" actually just made a plate of nachos. Chilaquiles are covered in sauce, and you have to use freshly fried tortillas. If you use tortilla chips you buy at the store, which this guy clearly used, your chips are going to instantly turn to mush.

    • @KiryuSeiran
      @KiryuSeiran 4 ปีที่แล้ว +111

      2 things, in korea is difficult to find tortillerias, second tortilla chips quality is a big difference, example I get the organic ones due to my body after cancer, my family now use them since they last longer without mushing or going bad while bagged, the flavor is more "Great Grandma" taste and they are not oily. That is why totopo quality varies from tostilocos to nachos to chilaquiles to seafood to botanero. :)

    • @noho_hank7627
      @noho_hank7627 4 ปีที่แล้ว +55

      @@KiryuSeiran I'm not saying you need authentic, fresh-made tortillas that you can only get at a tortilleria. You can use common corn tortillas that you would find at popular grocery stores. Any store-bought, packaged corn tortilla that you cut up into triangles and fry yourself would be better than tortilla chips. Also, even if he had used freshly fried tortilla chips, he still didn't cover them in sauce; which is what you do with chilaquiles.

    • @TheEtherny
      @TheEtherny 4 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      I think it was a mistake to get someone who lived on "the other side" cause you get this type of "what the fuck are you doing?" kind of moments lol, chilaquiles are delicious and nachos are too, but they're very different.

    • @ogarza3
      @ogarza3 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@KiryuSeiran the problem was that the technique for the chilaquiles was completely wrong, the chips that he used was the smallest of the problems. Imagine I make chilaquiles with store bought totopos like he did in the video, they might be a 90%, pretty good as ong as I prepare them correctly, make a salsa, dunk the chips, add the toppings... however if I make my own fresh fried corn pieces and prepare them like he did in the video, those would be 15% chilaquiles, pretty bad... or pretty good nachos, but completely different
