This is awesome! I'm Indian and I LOVE Mexican food which is so similar and yet different in many ways. The two just go together. I was lucky to visit Mexico City a couple of years and went absolutely ballistic eating the street food and the high end stuff as well. So much diversity, just like our food. Someday, I hope someone opens up an Indian restaurant that has a little bit of every region in the country on its menu. The food from South, East and Northeastern India is so different from the butter chicken, tikka masalas etc. which are typically from North India. All the same, I'm glad the senoras enjoyed their outing, lovely to see them enjoy, compare and contrast Indian and Mexican food.
When I did my dissertation on Indian food in America, a majority of Indian parents talked about going out as a family and only eating Mexican food as the food is very similar in flavour profile. They loved Mexican food.

You’d be surprised how much Mexican cuisine has influenced Indian cuisine. Tomatoes, cilantro, green chilies, and potatoes were introduced to India in the 1500’s by the Portuguese by way of Mexico 🇲🇽 In turn, India introduced sugar cane to Mexico by the Portuguese. 🇵🇹 🇲🇽 🇮🇳
I freaking love Indian food so much. I can’t even explain it. It sounds melodramatic but I truly feel that Indian food is proof of God’s creative power and love for us. It’s just so freaking good, and Indian people are awesome.
I'm Colombian and we don't do a lot of spicy food here (I'd say our thing is mixing sweet and salty flavors in unexpected ways), but I've tried Indian food here from a couple restaurants and I MELT every time. It's so amazing. Indian cuisine is the most AMAZING experience, especially if you are Latin. I think we are so used to a wide variety of ingredients, that it is surprising to find so many unknown spices in another cuisine + having them go so good together.
It’s such a wonderful feeling to see that Mexican moms are so similar to Indian moms! I mean, they look similar, even sound similar… behave in the similar fashion too…
Lot of Westerners ironically don't know spicy peppers were only introduced in India and other parts of Asia in the 1600s by Portuguese traders. Before that they were only found in North and South America. So they think Indians eating spicy food has always been a thing and it's just the way things are.
@@thealphaN Yes. Before trade with the Americas started up the only spicy condiment in Eurasia was black pepper and mustard seeds. And black pepper in large quantities is very different in taste from spicy peppers.

@SantanaD-bi2mr Exactly Tortillas doesn't resemble to Rotis or our authentic home-cooked chapatis in any way. Tortillas are made from corn which could be compared to "MAKKE KI ROTI" and we all know in India, Nobody, literally nobody in India eats Makke ki roti (Corn breads or tortillas) on regular basis. Perhaps, His wife keeps cooking tortillas every single day for him & now he has forgotten the tastes of Rotis/Chapatis & has started resembling their taste with Tortillas lol. That's what happens when you forget about your roots. 😂
@@Goji_Bear Roti/Chapati is made of Wheat Flour, not white flour (which is just refined wheat flour). And also the technique of cooking Roti/Chapati is different from Tortillas. Rotis/Chapatis are puffed on Tava (kind of pan), just like Puris (made of wheat flour) and Bhaturas (made of Flour) are puffed by deep frying. Tortillas are not puffed.
I ❤️ Indian food. The first time I tried, it was way back in the 1990s when my aunt took my mom out to an Indian restaurant for her birthday. There was so much food, and they brought the leftovers to me. Have no idea what it was, but it was delicious!

I love Indian food! (This video is making me crave it right now.) I’m glad the Mexican Moms liked it, too. I get the vegetarian dishes and ask them not to make it too spicy for me, but I make sure to get the raita, which helps a lot. It’s made with cucumber and mint, that’s why it’s so refreshing.
I love seeing people from different cultures appreciate the food from another. It’s one of the best ways to show that, as different as we are, it’s that diversity that makes it wonderful. And that we can find more things to appreciate in one another.

Indian food offers lots of vegetarian options. I love them for that. Mexican food is also easy for vegetarianism. You can make tacos with beans and cactus, or mushrooms with chilis. Sautéed corn with zucchini and a little cheese and salsa is spectacular.

They should gave them a chapati - very similar to tortillas
I melted when one of the ladies shared her food with the camera man. So much love comes from a Mexican lady, they're so precious.
As a Venezuelan and South American I can only say this video shows how similar geographically distant cultures can be. I relate to the nice and charming mexican 'tias' in the video as well as the tasty and wonderful indian food. Food definitely creates happiness and brings humanity together
We both have tropical climate, we are below the equator and have similar climates and tastes

As a Nepali person who loves Indian food this made me so happy 💗
I recently had a chance to try some authentic Nepali curry’s and there sooooo good! I want more
Yes. I agree being a nepali when we dine out at restaurants, we often eat biryani, butter chicken, naan, panner tikka, kebabs and others and they’re all soooo delicious and looking at people enjoying the food like I do is so refreshing

I am Mexican and was excited to see these moms enjoy Indian food. It is my favorite kind of food! If im having a bad day, Indian food makes it all better. 😊
I LOVED the chemistry between the moms eating in a real life setting, you guys should do this again and switch them up to see how they all interact with each other. Que se repita!
Yeah you could tell it was totally scripted.
They are all adorable. Well done to the restaurant owner, you can tell he made those dishes with love. Always felt like hispanic and indian people had similarities in culture and food. Tortilla- roti, mango drinks, spices etc.
EVERYONE IS SO CUTE! This was such a nice deviation to the normal content. I hope the restaurant owner gets many new guests. Thank you Mamahs.

I’m a Mexican American whose parents lived in Hawaii for several years before I was born. I grew up eating Japanese and Mexican food but I didn’t try Indian food till I was in college and it was like a revelation. There are so many similar flavor profiles between Mexican and Indian food so eating curry for the first time felt like a warm hug from a long lost relative. I make Indian dishes twice a month and would make it weekly if my brother who lives with me liked curry. I’m trying to find a dish he might like besides naan but so far I haven’t been successful but his kids devour Indian food when I make jt. He’s more into East Asian flavors so that’s the kind of food I usually make him but I’m open to any suggestions of what I can make him. I know he doesn’t mind cumin and cilantro but I can’t figure out for the life of me what part of the spice pallet he doesn’t like.🤷♀️
I would recommend Aloo Matar! It’s a potato and peas dish that is very simple to make and full of flavor.
Try kadhi with rice. It's made out of yogurt, turmeric, gram flour, ginger, etc. it's a lil tangy I think he might like it
"Tiene sazón" Man...that's like the ultimate Latina mom compliment for your food ❤
Cuando una mamá latina empieza a agarrar el salero, cuidado, no hay sazón en la comida 😅
as an Indian-American, I think you should next have the mamas try South Indian food. I would really love to see how they react to dishes like dosa, idli-sambhar, poha, and others!
Alright bet then!!! We as Mexicans love spicy foods

Not to forget the Rumali Roti or the humble Chapati!
I do however like the American Mexican food! The Taco Salad bowls and the Chaluppas and the Burritos are heavenly! Mexican food has some great fresh vibes to it and I simply love it.
a delightful video. When the lady in red , called Gulaab jamun “exquisite” , whole of India went , “one of us”. 😃
Listening to all their praises, you could tell they were eating proper proper Indian dishes! The chef deserves just as much appreciation!!
They're not all 'proper Indian dishes'. Half of them are British restaurant dishes developed in England and Scotland by Bangladeshi cooks. They proved popular in the UK and spread around the world, but they aren't 'Indian'.
“let’s open the world!” I love that lady! These Tia’s are the kind of people the world needs today! ❤
This warmed my heart so much!!! And Lucy made me tear up at the end, “this opens the world.” 🥺 These videos turn me into a softie lol.
I’m glad they are trying Indian food it’s delicious my favorite is the chicken vindaloo with coconut naan or cheese naan
Mine is lamb saag!
I love lamb vindaloo it's my favorite lol
To be honest, there is no existence of "COCONUT NAAN" in Indian cuisine, especially in India. Totally a westernized version of some kind of Naan for sure.

If you are Mexican, I highly suggest you to come to INDIA and try our food. It’s completely different than the Indian food in America, each state has its own unique cuisine.
The so called indian food you get in America is not true indian food..
Frankly its really hard to find authentic Indian food in US.
Its usually bastardized for white folks
but now a days you can find close to authentic still its not close enough
@@ReluctantSpirityou’re right about it being bastardised, how can it be authentic if in the US their washing their hands and have hygiene standards
in the same way, I've heard that Mexican food found in the US is different from authentic Mexican food in Mexico
In my state of India, the ingredients required need to be fresh and keeping it in the shelves for more than 2-3 days spoils it. No wonder our cuisine can never go over-seas because of that physics law@@ReluctantSpirit

As an Indian 🇮🇳. It just feels sooo validating seeing Mexican moms enjoying Indian food 😇😇😇
When I was a child I remember the clapping of the tortillas. No different than the clapping of chapatis. Then you get some with butter.🥰

Lucky ladies. Those are all wonderful dishes! I love Indian food!
When I did my dissertation on Indian food in America, a majority of Indian parents talked about going out as a family and only eating Mexican food as the food is very similar in flavour profile. They loved Mexican food.
That would be an interesting dissertation both to write and to read!

Oh man. As a Mexican I absolutely love Indian food! It has to be in my top 4 favorite ethnic food ❤yum😊
As an Indian I can also say Mexican food is one of the best! I can see how Mexican moms put so much love & care into their foods while observing these gorgeous ladies❤

Im Mexican and I love Indian food. It has so much flavor and the spices just take the food to another level. Mexicans and Indians are so much alike. We’re very family oriented and food is a huge part of our culture.
As a Brit, with zero Indian heritage, I have to say Indian food is love on a plate with a side of grandmas hugs. If I could I would eat it every day.
As an Indian guy, I would say we share some commonalities in Mexican and Indian food. We both love spicy and flavourful food.
Indian desserts are amazing tho. My favorites
I'm Indian and this video made me feel happy inside!! 🥰🥰
I mean, they look similar, even sound similar… behave in the similar fashion too…
I’m an Indian and let me clarify that most of us eat well seasoned, flavourful and mild foods. And occasionally eat the spicy ones.
Lot of Westerners ironically don't know spicy peppers were only introduced in India and other parts of Asia in the 1600s by Portuguese traders. Before that they were only found in North and South America. So they think Indians eating spicy food has always been a thing and it's just the way things are.
@@kettch777 any proof of this spice only in Americas?
@@rockysalvatore435 Literally type in "History of chili peppers or "hot peppers" in Internet search.
@@thealphaN Yes. Before trade with the Americas started up the only spicy condiment in Eurasia was black pepper and mustard seeds. And black pepper in large quantities is very different in taste from spicy peppers.

These moms were soooo entertaining to watch their reactions. I’ve subscribed to the channel mid video just because they had me smiling and laughing so much. They’re all so beautiful! They’ve inspired me to have my next date night with my hubby at an Indian restaurant.
We have tortillas, we call them roti. It's the same thing. My wife is half-Mexican there are so many similarities between Mexican and Indian food!
@SantanaD-bi2mrWe also have tortillas made from flour, we have both. But corn tortillas is definitely more used overall for almost every meal
In love with Indian food glad too see more cultures understanding
I ❤️ Indian food. The first time I tried, it was way back in the 1990s when my aunt took my mom out to an Indian restaurant for her birthday. There was so much food, and they brought the leftovers to me. Have no idea what it was, but it was delicious!
I'm so sorry I never tried Indian food when I was in London. What a missed opportunity. I hadn't been turned on to it yet.
As an Indian American who loves both Indian and Mexican food, this video made me smile.
Yo as an Indian, seeing Mexican families appreciate our foods is incredible, bc we have such similar flavor palates. It feels like I'm just seeing my aunties from another country consider the food I grew up with.
Best food in the world, hands down. So glad to see people from other backgrounds sharing their love for other foods and cultures.
Love these ladies, so respectful and willing to try the cuisine without any judgement or preconceptions!!
0:02 thats the right instinct; and as an indian dude I often use tortillas as makeshift chapattis/rotis; its very surreal how our culinary cultures are intertwined.
Mexican moms are like indian moms 🤗they behave the same identically

Mexican food is also easy for vegetarianism. You can make tacos with beans and cactus, or mushrooms with chilis. Sautéed corn with zucchini and a little cheese and salsa is spectacular.
