How To Pack A Carry On Bag For A Carnival Cruise

This is how to correctly pack your beverages for a cruise, and a few carry on essentials to start your trip off right!
It is important to be thoughtful about how you pack your cruise carry on to ensure that you’ll have everything you need! During our last cruise we got access to our cabin around 2:30 PM and we got our luggage shortly thereafter (we had FTTF so we got our luggage priority).

Beverages Allowed as per Carnivals Website:
🧃Each passenger is allowed, “a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12-ounces/354-ml each or less, per person”
🍾 Each guest over the age of 21, “may bring one 750-ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne, per person, in their carry-on luggage.”
🚫 Beverages are not permitted in plastic bottles.
✅ The items in this bag were for FOUR people. As a group of 2 adults and 2 children, we were allowed 48 cans/cartons of nonalcoholic beverages and 2-750ml bottles of wine or champagne. We brought 36 cans of pop/juice and 2 bottles of champagne.
Answering questions I’ve gotten:
Can I fly with this bag?
🛳️ No, you can not take this on an airplane. This bag works great for people driving to the port, or it can be assembled once you land in your port city.
Can I bring my own cup?
🛳️ Yes! In fact, I HIGHLY recommend it! The have ice machines on the Lido Deck.
Can I still pack another bag?
🛳️ Absolutely! (Coming up soon I’ll be sharing our carry on backpack!)
Why don’t you just buy the drink package?
🛳️ We did buy the drink package. This is great for enjoying mimosas on your balcony in the morning or for having mixers that you prefer.
Did the port have drug dogs?
🛳️ YES, several. Do not attempt to bring anything unauthorized.
Can I just carry the 12-packs?
🛳️ Yes you can. I don’t however recommend doing so. We saw quite a few people carrying pop cases through the buffet and it looked very uncomfortable.
What was security like for the bag?
🛳️ Security onto the ship is similar to TSA. Expect your bag to go through machine scanning. All bags are also subject to a physical search, although we didn’t not experience this.
Can I check the bag with beverages in it?
🛳️ No you can not. Your beverages must be carried on.
What did you do with this bag while you waited for your cabin?
🛳️ We wheeled our bag around with us until approximately 2:30 when our cabin was ready.

I have a question regarding if the drinks such as juice soda carton water energy drinks etc have to be in a package or can they be loose like your dole juice in this video. I’m so confused about this lol thank you

I don’t think it makes a difference! We had them loose and still in a box so we did both! I think as long as you’re following all of the policies (in a carry on, only 12 per person, 12oz or less, etc you should be good!!)
