- Mega, a helper robot designed by Dr. Light with a sence of good and justice in his metallic heart must save his brothers from Dr. Wily, an evil scientist who has reprogrammed all of Mega's brothers and turned them into machines of global domination.

13 Story Mode Levels * 3 Difficulty Settings * 12 Playable Characters + 100 Challenges = *FIVE HUNDRED AND SIXTY EIGHT LEVELS TO BEAT.* Not to mention you have to search the levels up and down to find the construction packs. You are *not* going to have a fun time trying to 100% this game, so you're better off emulating the game on PC and using cheat codes to beat all levels and unlock all unlockables.

Rock is his Japanese name that's why his sister's name is roll for the music type "Rock and Roll."
They actually changed his name from Rockman to Megaman because Rockman sounded like a euphamism for cocaine.
In that case, either the cocaine thing is not very well known or my sources are terrible.
+Quint Wily Rockman is called "Mega man" in Usa because there was a company called "Rockman" that was for construction materials, to avoid copyright they changed Rock's name to "Mega"
I still don't know why he can't be Rock, but his fighter name is still Mega Man.

After Watching all Your Banter Videos, i think Fireman And Elecman have the most interesting Personalities and the Best Voice's

Makes as much sense as green and yellow Mega Man that his real name is Mega and then as a superhero he is Mega Man. It's just like how Super Man's real name is Super, and Bat Man's real name is Bat...
Fun Fact: Ocean Productions, the same people responsible for the Ocean Dub of Dragonball Z did the voice acting for this... And the voice actor for Goku in the Ocean Dub did MegaMan in the Ruby-Spears MegaMan TV Series!

Things I like about the worldwide version:
1. The names are much better sounding and original for the bosses.
2. Rock's name is Mega.
3. Dr. Right is named Dr. Light
4. Forte is named Bass
Things I like about the Japanese version:
1. Rock Man actually sounds like a player character and not some angsty teen.
2. Rightot is named Rightot. Auto sounds too cheezy.
3. Rightot and Roll help you in between levels.
4. The robots usually reform at the end.

@DaBigmac824 Additionally, RockMan was a copyrighted name in America for a company in the music industry (I forget what exactly, only that it was involved with music) so they couldn't get the name RockMan for translation.

I just noticed: It seems they all can't agree on what Light really is. Is he a Doctor or a Professor? It's completely possible that he's both, but then at least the narrator should have said that.

@j0ny2 Megaman's real name is Rock; they're a tad different from the other Robot Masters. The names are an obvious pun of "Rock 'n' Roll". I can't see why they retconned Rock's name here; naming someone "Mega" just doesn't make sense. Megaman is Rock's super hero identity more or less.
@ElFattyFatMan Bear in mind, they didn't actually HAVE weapons, yet. Wily upgraded them later. And remember, it's Burlap Man.
