    It's good to see that even a fan of Glock pistols can still respect the Hi-Power. I don't have anything against Glocks. In fact, when a former co-worker let me shoot her Glock 17, I did like it. I just prefer the Hi-power. It fits more naturally in my hand, the disassembly is simple enough and I just love the looks of it. The Mec-Gar mags run flawlessly in it as well and the 15 round option enables a more modern-day capacity while still fitting flush with the frame.

    To me this contest is a 1967 mustang GT 500 vs a 1993 Volvo (4 door - hatch back).
    The glock as the Volvo is a awesome relaible car that will always get the job done.
    The mustang ia older but has so much more class. And a whole lot more fun to drive.

    • @brianonthego
      @brianonthego  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I really like the look of the 9 mm Browning High power over the Glock 19. I guess Im more of an old school type of admirer when it comes to weapons. After the rage and looking at the scores, Im convinced the B.H.P. is still my hand gun of choice. Thanks for sharing my Friend.

      Comedianartistben7, Excellent comment friend. The HI Power is great at bullseye shooting. The Glock, for me, is an excellent tool for action shooting and quick reloads, where pinpoint accuracy is not as critical. I am so glad you dropped by and commented. Good evening!

    • @chrismc410
      @chrismc410 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      cab7 call me old school but the Hi Power gets my vote. The Glock will do the job, no doubt about it and if it came to it, I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
      The Hi Power was one of the first semi autos I've owned and has saved my life one more than one occasion, has never failed me and without the Hi Power, the Glock and most other modern semi auto pistols would not exist as we know them now. If you take a Glock, CZ , SIG, XD, S&W, Walther P88 onward, etc. apart, you'll see the Hi Power's influence.

    • @chrismc410
      @chrismc410 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @c10wiremantawwallace13
      @c10wiremantawwallace13 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its not just the look of the High Power hold both and work all the actions then you start to realize the Glock is still working to catch up in terms of over all operation function and quite simply put feel in the hand. And when you think about why they don't make Glock's in a High gloss finish its because they ended up looking like plastic more than they expected giving it the appearance of a toy pistol. True story there so they quickly switched back to the mat finish. Steel can be blued or nickel plated or chromed or even color case hardened.

    Each has its function but I'd never get rid of my HP, Glocks come and go without much emotion. :)
    And before someone says it, the trigger on the HP can be well fixed with less parts and effort than it takes to fix a Glock trigger.

    Again we learn that the Browning HP is the better hand gun of the 2. I expected as much having both myself and shooting them for years. Not a surprise at all. John Mosses Browning was the MASTER designer and builder who was never surpassed then or now. The Glock always looked like a toy gun a kid would play modern warfare games with in the back yard.

      @@brianonthego Thank you. I love the Hi-Power. I've carried several of them, both in 9mm and 40S&W, over a 20+ year span. About 5 years ago I switched to a Glock19 for my EDC because it is similar in grip length, yet a little shorter in the slide, and felt quite a bit lighter. It is more comfortable in an IWB holster with no sharp edges or exposed hammers to poke me. I hope you enjoy yours. Cheers.

    I have several Browning guns every one of them is a work of art in function and form. I don't believe there is a better made gun than the Belgium made Browning's. I have a very rare A5 that was made in the first production cycle that has a raised rib sight that is solid making the shot gun very collectable & I did not even know it until taking it in for new springs last year. I thought the gun was maybe worth 2.500 turns out its 3 times that. Shocked the heck out of me and it was passed down from my father along with his Super Pose and Sweet Sixteen A5 so now I began working on collecting all the early J.M. Browning designed Winchester lever guns so I have one of all of his greatest guns made. Starting with the High Wall rifle and moving to the 1873, 1876, 1886, 1892, 1894, Centennial Rifle to go with that 1911 and High Power! I think my dad would be proud and my son sure will be when they all get passed down to him. Thank you for the video I sold my Glock after 2 years they just are not all they are talked about when set next to the old iron of the long ago past. Strange as it is. Love my Sharps .45-90 its a blast and a crowd drawer all in 1 shot.

    Nice video. Two brilliant pistols. Though in terms of accuracy , the Glock could have been shot better. It does ultimately come down to trigger control and sight picture. The Glock having some shots in the orange isn't down to the gun it's down to the consistency of the sight picture , your breathing and controlling the break of the Glock trigger. If you fixed both pistols in a rest you'll achieve 10 shot 4 inch groups at least. All shots should be in the inner circle up to 15 yards beyond that it really comes down to how good a shooter you are and how well you can manage your technique. If apply slow pressure to a Glock trigger you will pull some of your shots because of the mushy striker trigger , it isn't an Olympic trigger. You need to apply a consistent quick pressure to get it to break sharply without the creep, rather than taking 3-4 seconds to shoot you'd need to get it to break in 1-2 seconds without affecting the sight picture. The hi power is easy to shoot better because it's trigger is cleaner and more forgiving. But they should be achieving similar accuracy.

      Glocked 17. Sorry, I wasn't dissing your shooting. I'm from the UK and my shooting experience is Olympic style shooting which is obviously very different to the shooting matches that you do. The Gen 2 Glock 19 I had back in 1996 could group 1.5 inches at 20 metres off hand and my Hi Standard .22 would be all within a dime at 10m. I was just commenting on making an accuracy observation through highlighting that a shot has gone too high, that's shooters error not the pistols.

    • @brianonthego
      @brianonthego  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yea...i am a not so accurate shooter. we shoot uspsa 11 by 6 inch a zone, usually 5 to ten yards best 2 shots as fast as we can. I did a 3 shots at a quarter size group at 5 yards one time check it out.

      My personal opinion, weight really isn't an issue if you have a quality belt. However, thickness is the one thing you can't do much about. If you're sensitive to that, the HP might be the way to go.
      Personally, I shoot a HP better and prefer it's ergos. That said, there are much more options you have with the G19.

    • @brianonthego
      @brianonthego  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Trinity Parker Thank you for asking. The Bhp is more accurate and has target adjustable sights, it's all steel, for less recoil. The downside of the Bhp is it is expensive to purchase, and has a magazine trigger block, it will not fire without the mag inserted. The G19 is less expensive to purchase, parts and accessories are readily available, and is very easy for everyday people to work on and modify. The downside of the G19 is it hss a plastic lower , and less acurate. Both very nice pistols..just different purposes.

    You need to work on grip discipline. Milking your grip after every shot is cringe worthy. But hey I used to do it too. I filmed myself a few days in a row while and noticed it every day I was filmed. I shoot better and faster after teaching myself to stick with a more balanced grip. People milk their grip because they’re not putting enough pressure with the rear of their palms against the grip.
