Bought the AP5M from Atlantic few weeks ago. $839.00 plus $30 shipping. One mag, no rail, sling or cleaning kit. Best price I found for just the pistol and mag.
I got my AP5-P early this month. Went to the range every Saturday and so far I've had nothing but failed to eject problems. Shot mostly 124 brass ammo and tried many different brands. I was having anywhere from 4 to 8 fails per mag, so it has been nothing but a frustrating experience for me. 500 break in period was just this last weekend, still fails to eject.
Oh, Wow, I'm sorry to hear that! I only ran Full Metal Jacket, with no hollow points through mine. Also ran 115 grain. Maybe you could try those or 147 grain. I'm assuming you have tried multiple magazines to ensure it's not that; it could be a part problem like Ejector or Spring. I'm new to HK clones, so that's my first thought.
@@TJeffW1974gmail I've tried 115, 147 and 158 grain over the weekend when I crossed the 500 mark. The AP5-P did not like flat nose rounds. Those gave me feeding issues along with the ejecting issues. The only casing that Ive yet to try is any steel cased rounds. Ive tried only brass cased ammo so far. The only reason why I havent tried steel cased is because almost all indoor ranges in my state do not allow for steel cased ammo. As for the brands Ive shot, they are Winchester, Federal, Remington, SAR US 9mm NATO, Fiocchi, PMC, CCI Blazer, MagTech, Sellier & Ballot and Sig Sauer 9mm. All FMJ, and they all jam on ejection.
@Strigon01 Mine had the same issue. I swapped out to h&k german mags, extractor spring and get the new “f” style extractor, and extractor lever. 1000 rounds so far no issues now. I understand your frustration. Don’t give up on it!
FINALLY! You see it too! The Midwest Industries MP5/MP5k Top Picatinny Rail looks so much better than that generic little piece of whatever that comes with all of those. I think it sets off the shape of the AP5m much better and it's not overpriced like that huge HK rail either. Note: I have two (2) of the Midwest Industries MP5/MP5k Top Picatinny Rails and ALL of the screws fit perfect. Had to be a MI factory packaging goof. I even got an HK SP5k German Handguard cut to fit over the sling loop and picked up an HK SP5K/SP89 SEF Navy Style Trigger Housing with my Evike bungee slings to make an HK MP5k clone one day and an SP5k German Sporting Pistol the next. Semper Fi.
Yes, it looks better to me too! Most of the Midwest Industries rails and products look better to me. This was the sole reason I ordered this rail because it looks much better. I don't even know what optic I want to put on there, but I know I wanted to get one of these rails before they get sold out with all the cheap AP5s coming out!!! And the screws only cost me $4, so it was no significant loss and not worth sending it back over. I'm sure they just messed up as you said. Thank You, Sir

I just bought the regular size. I bought a few mags (1 that came with the gun and 2 more by mke from Atlantic Firearms and waiting for an HK mag in the mail as we speak. When racking the charging handle, it would extract the round but not eject. It would just fumble around in the chamber and it even happened while shooting it the first half dozen rounds and occasionally a random malfunction or two in a mag. I have about 200 rounds through it with all 3 mags. Did the failure to eject continue happening?
Maybe try different ammo or different grain. I think it recommends 124 Grains; I used 115. Sorry to hear of your issues. Hopefully, you can work it out.
Shooting left means too much finger on trigger and punning it instead of squeezing it. Low to left means that and anticipating the shot by jerking it downward
It's Worth $1000 for sure, but I could never bring myself to do it when they were $2000. I wouldn't say I like ordering online, but I had to when they fell below $1000. But locally, you do get to inspect it first, so that is a big plus! But if you have the means, it's hard not to pick one up!!

Congratulations and yes I'd been wanting one for a long time as well for about 35 years! Yes I was surprised the ETS magazine did not jam on me, I attributed it to a very well-made firearm!

Classic firearms had them for 899 but it was a Christmas sale I think they are sold out now but just do a search on Google I think some other companies had them but they are not as cheap.

I got mine for $899 as well, AP5-P. It shoots suppressed as well. Mine has the threaded and trilug barrel. Always wanted an MP5 or SP89.

I used to have the same problem shooting to the left. Try putting just the tip of your finger or the trigger. Helped me out a lot. Happy shooting!

I had a hard time getting the midwest rail to stay level and it covers the serial. I ended up going with the B&T low profile rail with a Holosun 510C.
Yeah, when I first tightened it down evenly, it was unlevel. I had to fool around for 20 minutes to get it level. So I can understand that!

Mine was very reliable, but from everything I've heard, there's about a slight chance you'll get one that doesn't work with 100% reliability.
