I bought the AP5-P two years ago and had the exact same issues. I called Century they sent me a shipping label and off it went. Two weeks later they sent me a brand new one, all I had to pay for was another transfer fee. I have never had another issue with it since. You'd think they would have given me a free mag or hell even a sticker for my troubles but no. I wasted a lot of ammo with that first one and they never did tell me what was wrong with it.
You guys need to check your bolt gap and order + or - rollers to get them in spec. Out of spec on the low end causes jams. On the high end, roller marks. It's really easy to swap them and upgrade the roller retention bar while you're in there.
I’m have the same issues with my ap5m. I just replaced the ejector lever and ejector spring with factory HK parts. Going to the range this weekend. Hope it fixes my issue. Thanks for the video
I had the AP5 core and it was a nightmare!! Literally couldn't get through a mag without it jamming, even after the break in period Century recommends and HK German mags. The mag well was extremely out of spec as well, measuring almost a half inch play forward and aft even with HK German mags. I RMA'd it through Century and they sent me another one. Same issues although the mag well was much tighter it still had 1/4 of an inch forward and aft play with mags. The MP5 platform needs to have rather snug fitting mag wells in order to feed correctly, if the round is pointed to far down or up due to out of spec mag well, it will miss the chamber and jam when the bolt cycles.. Ended up selling the AP5 and saving my money and buying the HK SP5 and the HK SP5k, both run flawless out of the box without a "break in" period. Shouldn't have to buy a brand new gun and replace parts to make it function correctly!
Sucks you’ve had the issues you’ve had, but glad you got it sorted out. Yea Century probably has one of the worst reputations for customer service, so anytime I roll the dice with something of theirs, I fully expect to be on my own. With that said, I’ve had nothing but 100% function out of my AP5 and it’s been one of my favorite firearms. I’ve heard the K versions tend to have more issues, but most all issues can be fixed by swapping some parts out. For the money, I still believe the MKE manufactured MP5 clones are the best value. Not perfect, but made on HK machinery at least. I’m hoping to pick up a K version at some point down the road.
I must have lucked out! My Century Arms /MKE AP5-P runs flawlessly. I broke mine in with a friends registered F/A trigger pack. I did have to use a modified carrier with a "bolt on F/A trip".
My AP5, P,and M run flawlessly from factory......my P had major canted sights.... Century was awesome and exchanged it for another that is straight and runs 100%.....takes time, have to give them the opportunity

I'm well aware that the manual specifies 124gr ammo and a 500rd break-in period. I ran somewhere around 1500-1800 rounds of 124gr through it before becoming increasingly frustrated with it. With the HK ejector, it'll eat 90gr frangible, 115gr, 124gr, and 147gr. Also if you listen at 3:40 in the video, I talk about the ammo used on this trip.
Bought a PTR 9ct when they first came out. Before the sp5/k came out. Nothing but problems. Bought an sp5 and K and never had a single problem with either. DONT BUY CLONES!!!!
It's definitely a piece of shit if every other testimony is fucking "failure to feed" or "failure to eject" constantly. Don't roll the dice on these things unless you're planning on spending more on HK parts right out of the gate.
The extractor spring is $9.95 The extractor is $59.95, the ejector lever is $ 69.95. Not bad to have a gun that runs and is very accurate. Order the parts while waiting for the gun to ship. Get the gun clean and replace the arts and no worries. I blame MKE not century. The ejector they use is the 1st gen and that's why it has trouble. Third gen is on the money
Dude simple pack the gun up, send it back to CENTURY ARMS, was it made by man........yes...., so its not perfect, that go's for HK an any other gun manufacturing!!!!

I thought the same with my return.....some sort of swag for paying to ship back and inconvenience.....
Have a buddy who bought the zenith ZF5. Claims he never had a problem. Broke it in with 500 124 grain rounds.

How is it functioning now?
Other parts that are also usually replaced with HK parts are the extractor and extractor spring.

We have the same exact set up bro lol. The AEMs, b&t stock and vertical grip. Sorry yours didn't work, mine works like a sowing machine.

Had some occasional ejection issues with my POF5-K. I put in a German gen 3 ejector plate and problems went away.
Can you link the part you purchased and where you got it from to make it work? Thanks

glad you were able to calm down a bit. now we can be friends again

AP5-P... same issues. - Same fix. What is your best running ammo? My full size runs great.
Since I've had the new ejector installed, I haven't had a single malfunction of any sort of ammo, even Blazer 115.
Did you have a problem with the mag catch not catching ?
what is the bag you have the AP5 laying on for the first and last sections of the video?
It’s a drafting board used for plotting minefields from the Swiss Army. It was sold by some surplus vendor as a “cutting board” lol

I remember the stock being a very tight fit the first couple times I installed and removed it. Is yours the same way?

What kind of ammo did you use? There's a break in period. Did you read the manual?
