I found a rare vacancy at the HALE KOA Military hotel and as a retired USAF member, I jumped on a plane, got upgraded to Delta One, and had a great trip. Visited the Pearl Harbor Memorial, rode the Waikiki Trolley around the SE part of Oahu, Attended an amazing Luau, and had a fabulous 4 days. Unfortunately, when I got home, I heard about Lahaina , Maui, HI getting destroyed by Hurricane Dora. God Bless all affected. Maui Strong! @Rixtrips

Mahalo for sharing and your reference to the August 8th day of the strong winds even though the Hurricane was about 650 miles away to the south. Who would have thought?
I feel so sad for all those who suffered in the fires. I continue praying for all affected and hope for a rapid recovery in the area.
