Aloha! For the manta rays, are they like in a secluded area or is it in open space in the ocean? Will be visiting Big Island but kind of sketched about sharks at nighttime
You can go to the outrigger on the kona side for a free manta ray viewing. Grab a drink at the bar and head down to the waterfront. They have spotlights on the water. Some were getting within 15-20' from shore. Over the course of 1 hour I saw 7 or 8. It was awesome.
@@butnutter you can go through the outrigger and sit seaside for free. No cost, no charge. The manta boats are 60'-200' out. The manta rays come and feed just off shore in the floodlights from the hotel. No tour needed you can sit relax and watch them feed right off shore in illuminated water. You can buy a drink from the bar if you so choose.
Use Vertra. See Lava Trees and Orchidland. Hilo/Pahoa side. Go off the beaten path. Kehena for wild waves and characters. South Point and green beach can be sketch.
Yesss Raw Elements is amazing! Thank you so much for this information, very helpful and presented beautifully. Can’t wait to look at the itinerary!! So excited
Your video is beautiful, its easy to tell a professional photographer. Im sure you have an amazing camera but your skill shines through. Thank you for the reminders of respect we as tourists should follow. Looking forward to our anniversary trip to the big island in December 🤙Mahalo
Nothing wrong with asking for a thumbs up I like your videos I like how you teach ignorant people how to protect the islands There are so many disrespectful people out there...... I will be going there on my next vacation I've already purchased everything for the big island..... Can't wait to have the experience... I am a Master healer Advanced practitioner of the natural so I think I will enjoy it on a much deeper level 🌊☯️
Thanks for the video and advice!! Awesome! My buddy lives on the island and is getting married in 3 weeks so we are attending his wedding and staying at a resort for 3 days then doing 4 days at an airbnb. I cant wait!! Gonna be amazing i hope!
My Husband and I went to the big Island in 2012 for our wedding anniversary. My Husband wanted to see the lava flow. It stopped a week before we got there. We still had a great time . We are coming back in February 2024 can't wait! Hopefully we will see a lava flow. And also go see where the natural hot tub we went to that is now covered up by lava. And the green lake that is not a lake anymore. Thanks for this video it is helping us plan our trip.
you may be in for a surprise then, me and my friend are going the middle of February and hopefully she goes by then. It’s a yellow level advisory and showing major tilt, more so than any seen sense 2018 when it had a pretty big eruption adding 700 acres of land.
This is so helpful thank you! I’m going in October and I’m a photographer and videographer as well. I want to remain as respectful as possible and didn’t know if bringing my drone is something I could do?
Enjoyed the video. Informative. Who do you know that would rent a 4x4 on the Hilo Side? I have called several places. They either don't allow you to drive past the Visitors Center or don't rent 4x4 at all? Any help would be appriacated.
By the way your tips for the big island are great for people that are maybe 37 years old and younger how about for **people 40 and older Please do a series of videos on what to do and Hilo the big island for people that are 40 and older 🌺👌🌊🙏
Hi ! My husband and I will be travelling to hawaii in the summer! We found your video the most helpful out of all the videos we saw, mahalo for this ! We were planning to visit the volcano park on our own, but the point of vue you have given we think we would maximise our chances of seeing lava with an experienced guide. I have looked into the excursion of your link, but I found no way of booking only for the lava tour part (beaches, craters, coffee farms, etc. are always included in the price). As a local and by any chance, would you know anyone (private or group) that does the lava excursion for a decent price ? Mahalo for your help :)
Aloha Maude! Thank you for your support. I don’t know of any private guide’s personally, but Air Bnb experiences may potentially have something if you haven’t checked there already.
I dunno! I've lived on the Big Island (Hawaii Island) for 35 years with numerous short stays on Maui, Lanai, Oahu and Kauai. So many of the landscapes you show in this video seem to be from islands other than the Big Island. The red dirt, the dramatic needles and valleys -- we just don't have that kind of topology here that I am aware of. Great video content; I'm just not sure how authentic it is in terms of Hawaii Island.
Talk about a "soft core" SALES PITCH!!! ... Honestly, this is all very familiar stuff for visiting the Big Island. No "hidden gems" or "off the beaten path" offerings. Rather, it's a compendium of "sales pitches" for different, expensive activities ... for the which I am confident that our host gets his share for marketing them. Sorry, but the verdict on this video is ... KA-CHING!!! $$$$$
3) Please don’t exposed local and native zones OR exposed all the places so people can go,get hurt hiking to the spot, state steps in and deem it unsafe for walking and closes it to all. Then some billionaire will step in and develop it and put a guard gate up! TRUE STORY!

The most I would tell any tourist is to go do the tourist trap things created to take their money. I don't give away any locals secrets and nobody should. Having the worst humans in the world showing up at local spots is why the locals hate haoles so much. I am not a local, but I have been going to Hawaii for so long that I can spot a tourist and local a mile away. The more I am around locals the worse I feel for them, the more I am around tourists, the more I cannot stand being around them either.
@@Angelaaa1015 The locals are all sorts of mixed races, so are the tourists. How about you try using your brain to comprehend something someone says instead of just jumping to your idiotic tactics in calling everything racist? It kinda shows you have a detriment that you can't think for yourself.
Green sand beach is beautiful but it's funny how there's a sign saying that you can't drive there but the cars that brings you there is just a regular truck. Not paying the scam to get there.
Mahalos for your support with the E-book we created. The feedback has been amazing!

How would I get from Waikiki to the big island??
