Now this to me is vintage LIRR speed… I like how train comes around from the old Springfield Gardens station passes the Far Rockaway branch train at Laurelton, you can here the clicks as the engineer puts his foot into it…. MTA take note.. Commuter Rail is suppose to go..
I am thankful for the videos! On this day, the front window was INCREDIBLY dirty, not so visible beneath the gray skies, but in Penn Station, the filth is VERY visible. Which you don't control and thank YOU for this exciting video! :)
Really enjoying your video's...... Been a LIRR fan since a little kid.... After 40 years I moved from Long Island 13 years go..... Miss the trains. Love to hear the closing door bells on the M3..... I have a retired M1 number board hanging in my kitchen, ... #9293.......Great engineer. He wasn't afraid to peak it out at 80mph. Even between stations !
my neighbor in levittown was a conducteor for the long island Railroad. he died some years back when he slipped and fell on the ice between train cars. His son also worked as a conducteor for the long island Railroad. the Family name is Gallagher. this was in the late 60's.
Nice video. I'll be visiting Jones Beach and hope to ride the LIRR in to Penn Station from Wantagh at least once. Hopefully an express train. Thanks for the preview!
Excellent video! Future request: please show the names of station stops (subtitles). Couldn't always understand arrival announcement & couldn't read most signs. Thanks.
Awesome video of letting us viewers ride the LIRR on TH-cam, Master 767. I speed the video because I am listening to my songs on TH-cam Music. : )

Pretty awesome view out of that M3!
+Mike D Thanks. I do have videos out of M7s as well.

Very sad. I'm aiming for that position or anything entry also.
Yes. Mostly track speed and signal speed
Are the yellow diamond-shaped signs speed limit signs? Do the cabs also have speed indicators for the train operator?
Are there cab signals for the train operator? At that speed he/she'd be hard pressed to see/obey the track signals on the signal bridges.
GREAT !!

I could do that. Sure!
No criticism intended, just a suggestion. Otherwise, you're doing a really great job!
Anytime!
Still with wooden crossties?
Nope
What year was this taped? The trains and the cars on the street look a bit "2005ish". Am I right? Good video.
