Upgraded from an older 18v kit. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.
👍👍. The reason that I watched this one is because I have a 14.4V Ryobi cordless drill without a battery that was given to me. I have some 18V Ryobi power tools, so I tried a 18V battery in it to see if it’ll work, it does, haven’t tried drilling with it, didn’t know if it would burn up the motor. Have yourself a great day today and God Bless
hey, I also upgraded my 20 year old makita drill which used old 14,4V NiCD batteries to LXT 18V Li-ion with 3D printed battery mount and new switch, which can take up to 24V. Drill is like new now and has so much more power! Your video was an inspiration for this upgrade. Thank you!
Hello Gea... I greet you from Argentina... what they do is wonderful... I am a fan of tools... and above all fix them. I watch your videos over and over again...I'm a beginner...I would like you to continue uploading videos about motor winding of tools....very grateful for all the videos you upload....thank you.... Thank you....!!!!!!!!
Those tools might be a bit expensive. What I would like to do is be able to bring my own tools to a person like Gearshow and have them help me refurbish them myself. Like a workshop maybe?
In fact, this original switch is not damaged when the led is on, you need to connect the signal pin to the (+) pole for the switch to work, for makita genuine trigger 3 pins are needed to can work, that is (-), (signal) and (+).
Dude, the switch could be in full working order, you forgot to connect the third battery contact - it is responsible for protection in case of overheating of the battery and no tool will work with the open contact.
i would absolutely love to see someone who does restorations like these take their petrol, evaporust or vinegar, whatever they use, and filter that and try to remove all the contaminants, like put that bottoe of petrol and put it through a vacuum filtration system and see how clean it comes out at the end

I am a user of this Makita 14.4V impact driver in Japan. I was having trouble with insufficient torque with 14.1V and then I saw this video. The torque increase due to simple voltage is 125% (25% increase) by desk calculation. Am I correct in understanding that the trigger switch that was replaced in the video was replaced with a trigger switch for 18V due to contact burnout caused by exceeding the rated voltage tolerance? This was very helpful and I have subscribed to your channel. I look forward to your future videos.
Thanks, very interesting indeed! So no modifications required? Just plug in the 18V battery and away it goes? I have an old 14.4V Maktek drill / driver, got an 18V wrench coming soon, will give it a try. Does anyone know if this will damage the battery? Not bothered about the drill as it is on its way out, but I don't want to damage a brand new 18V Makita battery!
Hi i have a question i have a hand vaccum cleaner whit 2 18650 in series lithium 7.4 v nominal charger 9.6 v. I whant to change the lithium batt whit new one's an i saw on the net peopel in different aplicatio putt ni-cd in parallel in my case 6 x 1.2. what could happen it is dangerous? By doing this that person from 1-2 day it have extented the life of the battery to 7 days. Lithium 3.6v 2.2 amp nicd 1.2v 2.2 amp. Thx
Little known fact: during 1:16 he was unscrewing the motor. Not many people know motors have a finite number of rotations, like a screw, before they become unscrewed. When you rewind a motor, as this person did, you restore its ability to rotate.

Really like how you solved the fitment issues👌
Gear Show does so many mods. he could be his own production company.
Those tools might be a bit expensive. What I would like to do is be able to bring my own tools to a person like Gearshow and have them help me refurbish them myself. Like a workshop maybe?
Or he could refurbish my heirloom tools, that would be nice too. Some of my great grandfather's tools are a bit rough
@@jdniedner That would be nice.
Very nice video. I like how You approach difficulties such as battery mount and how You solve them. Keep on filming!

Hello there!
Hey all, is there any video to make a cordless impact driver electric?
Why cannot one just swap the battery port, will the extra volts burn the motor or electronics.
Can you tell me please, where I can find a LYKS 08 5E4 7.2-24V 20A switch?
THANKS

Отлично. Несколько есть шуроповертов с мертвыми аккумуляторами.
Wait what? You just hook 18v battery to 14.4v motor and it works fine??? Not gonna burn in or something?
Usually there are some DC motors working around 12-21 volts
Fajnie to wyszło. Jakoś mam słabości do sprzętu makity 😎
