    *This **Generater.Systems** is awesome! Very quiet and runs our 30 amp travel trailer (RV) with ease. Packaging was professionally done. They even included oil & a funnel for initial set up.*

    I bought this exact generator and ran it under full load to charge a battery bank. It lasted until 1451 hours before the generator head stopped producing electricity.

      I just bought one this very day. Always wanted one...but kept procrastinating. With the chance now, a very real chance of a 5-30 percent increase in MSRP, due to huge increases of raw components to Firman...like no kidding they are going to pass those fast rising costs to the consumer. If you want one...I suggest you drop the hammer today, or this week. If not, you could be paying $300.00 more for the same unit....and sooner than you thought it would....be coming to a dealer near you!

      @@ThunderRidgeMedia Just read in the Owner's Manual, that you should ***NEVER have anything connected to the unit, if intending to START or SHUT DOWN the unit. Always unplug everything from the unit, or wait to plug in, BEFORE you turn on/shut down. This is stated at least 10 times throughout the Owner's Manual. The other thing one can do, is make sure that any trailer appliances are turned off, and not running before you use the REMOTE to turn off the unit outside. That is, if the 30 amp trailer electrical cord is attached to the T-30 plug in. The manual says that the generator can be damaged if you do not follow this advice/procedure!!!! Also, you should wait for two or three minutes for the generator windings to stabilize before you apply a load to the unit. I am going to be sure to follow those two WARNINGS! :)

      It's a great generator so far, haven't really used it much as it was bought for emergencies. Ran it a few times after a month or two of sitting just to make sure it's ready. It started & ran like a kitten on the first try every time. After running it, I shut the valve off while it's running and let the remainder of fuel burn off until the generator stops from lack of fuel. Then I try to start it again to ensure no fuel left to ignite so and then it's back in the garage until it's needed or just to do runs after sitting for awhile. Glad to hear that you are reading the manual! Some people don't! Cheers!

      Good day, I haven't tried to see how far it works but it does say 168 feet in the specs "The FIRMAN W03083 Inverter generator features 3300 starting watts and 3000 running watts. Power is supplied by our Max Pro Series 171cc FIRMAN engine which runs cool and efficient thanks to its Phoenix Fat Head Block. Our Whisper Series muffler keeps the W03083 running a quiet 58 decibels - well below the standards set by the National Parks Service, and our spark arrester has been approved by the USDA Forest Service. The 1.8-gallon fuel capacity provides a whopping 9 hours of run time. Starting is as simple as the push of a button on the remote start key fob from up to 168 feet away." Hope that helps!

    I’m having trouble with the carburetor not a mcanic but I’m learning any advice

    • @ThunderRidgeMedia
      @ThunderRidgeMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually close or shutoff the fuel valve delivery and then let the generator run dry so that no fuel is left in the carburetor prior to storage...leave the valve closed for storage (adding fuel conditioner also helps for longer storage). My generator often sits for months without use and it starts up every time when I want to make sure it still runs. Running it dry helps prevent build up at the carburetor (needle is probably clogged with deposits as any remaining fuel in carburetor can gel up after long periods). You may want to clean out the carburetor, needle, etc. as there are lots of videos online on how to do that...Cheers!

    The manual says to never start or stop the unit while devices are plugged in ..so why the remote ?

    • @ThunderRidgeMedia
      @ThunderRidgeMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My guess is if one is too lazy to go outside (maybe due to weather...rain..etc ) to turn on the generator, you can turn it on remotely from inside. ( Ensure anything plugged into must be off prior to starting the generator)

    Ok, what AGS (Automatic Generator Start) switch do you recommend for this model?
    I have this model as a dedicated generator to power a large battery charger.....i need an AGS switch to monitor the 12 volt charge of a 6 battery battery bank, and turn on the generator at low voltage, and turn off within voltage range..
    Thanks

    • @ThunderRidgeMedia
      @ThunderRidgeMedia  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don't know as I just use the charger that comes with the generator and disconnect it once the internal battery is fully charged.

    • @justintyme1449
      @justintyme1449 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ThunderRidgeMedia internal battery isn't the issue, i could link that battery with the battery bank, but i doubt that would be necessary.....
      My entire power station, is mounted on the roof rack of my 1992 GMC C1500, so it is constantly exposed to hot and cold temperatures in season......so a series of cooling and exhaust fans keep it cool in summer, and the three 100 watt solar panels, can keep up with demand, along with my dc to dc charger, when i drive......however, now in freezing temperatures, the two heaters are going to drain the battery bank down quickly, and with cloudy days, there is no powet recovery.....so i definitely need generator backup for this winter.
      The battery charger is a 120 volt A/C unit, with a typical plug in, but the output side is hardwired into the battery bank.
      So this system may need to cycle a few times a day when I'm at work, when temperatures are below freezing.
      All the electronics in the system have temperature ranges that need to be maintained for optimal performance

  • @stevecarlisle3323
    @stevecarlisle3323 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The remote start is a bit of a useless gimmick. You have to turn the fuel valve off and on manually every time its run, which is normal with a carbonated engine.

    • @ThunderRidgeMedia
      @ThunderRidgeMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not necessary to manually turn the fuel valve on or off after every run. I have left the valve in the on position in between starts and stops especially when using the remote. (Demo was shown in off position just to show the first start procedures ). I only shutoff the fuel valve when I know that the generator will no longer be in use for a long time or when it's shutdown to add fuel.

    • @stevecarlisle3323
      @stevecarlisle3323 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ThunderRidgeMedia When the needle valve starts to leak ( not if, when) the engine floods, and if left long enough, will fill the crankcase with fuel. All manufacturers that use carburetors have this liability. To eliminate this hazard it needs to have 12V fuel solenoid.

    • @ThunderRidgeMedia
      @ThunderRidgeMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stevecarlisle3323 Good point Steve, the manual does indicate in the stopping procedure to place fuel valve in off position, but that would render the remote useless and pointless of having a remote when you want to restart it after a brief period. I generally shutoff the valve when generator is no longer in use. Appreciate your comments!

    • @stevecarlisle3323
      @stevecarlisle3323 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ThunderRidgeMedia yes, that's why I call them a gimmick. The fuel shut off valve will work for a undetermined amount of time. For instance, the Honda suitcase gensets, of which I have used for years. As they get older, the needle and seat starts to leak. Leave the fuel valve on overnight, and try starting the next day, a half dozen or more pulls and it starts , problem is related to flooding. Anyways, brand to brand, no different. Depends how you use it.

    • @stevecarlisle3323
      @stevecarlisle3323 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ThunderRidgeMedia Yes, for this genset with remote, they should have used a electrical valve instead of manual. I have to use that for my application.
