My late husband purchased one of these and I now need to use it to connect the electric to an RV. If I understand your instructions correctly, all I need to do is connect the RV electrical cord to the generator outlet and start it up with either gas or propane, right? And then it should charge the batteries? About the propane: one of my issues is that I cannot locate the original box or parts it came with. What type of hose/connectors do I require to pair it with the RV propane tanks, please? Thank you for a very instructional video!
Just got one, runs great with the battery starter, I ran a test on propane electric load up to 3050 watts and it took it like a champ. But there is no way in hell I can make it start using the recoil with propane. I have not try gasoline and I am not planing to for the moment. Have you try to start it using the recoil?
Can you burn off all the gas in the carburetor by moving the fuel selector switch to LPG while the generator is running on gas and then set the engine switch to OFF?
I like that its compact and packaged nicely. If this size was able to run on natural gas this would sell like hotcakes for home back up. . Natural gas can be an endless fuel source during power outages. So many homes today are energy efficient and would be perfect for the needs of so many including me.
thanks cody ,in very cold climats syntec oil is a must ,and if you want a 75 watt heat pad on the block ,it a very nice gen ,had on for 5 years gaz ,800 hr of run time still working fine ,
It’s so hard to find a good review that explains all of the parts and pieces to these generators. I’d love to buy one but I’m nervous because I never owned a gas device before other than my car. I also didn’t know how these work. I feel more confident now after watching this video. That’s interesting about the fuel stabilizer. My purpose is for emergency home power only so I may not need to use it often. Having a stabilizer mixed with the gas is a great tip. I wish Firman sold smaller inverter generators like this that used natural gas. Dealing with smelly gasoline and expensive propane tanks is a nuisance. Can this generator be used to run a forced air furnace that runs on natural gas via one of the 120 volt 20 amp outlets? I have the Lenox EL195 furnace. Thank you so much for this video. It’s the best one I’ve seen yet.
Please stay away from small engines. You are not someone that will do well with the maintenance and care. Try the Eco flow delta. No gas, no maintenance except charging.
I personally would have told Ryan to F off. He doesn't know you! I have three Delta Pros and I would NEVER give up my dual fuel generators. On a another note, Propane doesn't spoil so it is a great emergency fuel source. If you are going to use gasoline, use TruFuel. Rather than use a fuel additive when storing, just run the generator out of gas before storing. Good Luck - stay prepared.
On the smaller 2200 the air intake is right on the bottom of the machine and sucks sand and dirt into the machine and breaks it. Where is the air intake on that model.
I haven't even used it and have had nothing but problems from day one. First the oil drain plug is plastic and did not seal after adding oil. Yesterday I went to start it like I do once a month. Ot started right away, but was running like crap on both gas and propane.
Contact Firman to find a service center and to get warranty information, should that be the necessary route. What you're describing is not typical, in our experience.

Just so you know, when starting on propane you don’t need a choke. Using a choke when starting in propane mode will keep the engine from starting.
In my owners manual it says to use the choke. Page 28 I believe.

When it's in mode gas can you stop the engine by cutting tke gas line like some other unclosed frame generator ?

Bought the 3041 with recoil start. Slightly lighter and has the benefit of cardio exercise.
Is there any break in period for these? The manual says only run on 50% power for 5 hrs?

@@A_Man_In_His_Vaneco flow is not enough power, they aren't cost effective. A gas gen is cheap and produces tons of one demand power.

Does this unit have remote start?
No. I don't think Firman or Champion offer a combination of dual fuel and remote start. It is one or the other. Westinghouse does offer that combo.

The unit ships with the starting battery disconnected. You have to remove the maintenance cover and plug the battery wire together. Did you do that?
