    I love the names Rain and Luna! I don’t have kids yet, but I work as a Postpartum RN in the hospital that has both Midwives and OB. Definitely take folic acid as a supplement as it is essential for spinal development/avoiding spina bifida and is found in pre-natal vitamins. The top 3 vaccines to think about right away are the eye antibiotic erythromycin, vitamin k shot and hepatitis b shot. If you know you don’t have any type of infection then the eye ointment can be skipped (get tested for all STI’s as some cause blindness in babe-this is part of routine prenatal care) the vitamin k shot is low risk and necessary especially if you want circumcision if baby is a boy! You can even get shots done while breastfeeding to decrease stress on babe. And lastly hepatitis B which some people choose to defer to a few days later if you want to give baby a few days otherwise get it done right after birth. Finally breastfeeding is amazing and it may be difficult at first, but is so worth it & truly amazing the way a newborn right after delivery will go to the breast the first time! There is no such thing as too much skin to skin! At my hospital we have donor breast milk that we give baby if something is wrong, like low blood sugar, and we need to get it up fast, but still want to keep the natural flora in the gut. One last piece, an unmedicated vaginal delivery is a beautiful plan & totally do-able, but remember if you and baby need a cesarean or need the epidural everything will work out in the end when you see your beautiful baby!

    I greatly delayed my children’s vaccines. Maybe one or two at birth and I delayed them out very far because I wanted to know my baby and know if there was a reaction or anything happening. I did catch them up for school. I have a double fear there. What am I putting into my child and what if my child catches something horrible and preventable. We do not get flu shots and we do use colloidal silver for any possible sick bugs popping up.

    I say definitely vaccinate. I vaccinated both of my kids because let’s face it there are some scary diseases out there they we need to protect our children from. I have a question for you, did you get vaccinated when you were a child and if you cut yourself now would/do you get a tetanus shot? The reason I’m asking that is, if your father is a doctor I’m assuming that you got vaccinated as a kid. You look and feel pretty healthy so don’t you think that vaccines didn’t affect you negatively?

    • @EatMoveRest
      @EatMoveRest  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ivi122 Yes, I have thought about the fact that I got vaccinated as a kid. I see tremendous benefits on both ends of the spectrum. There are horror stories either way, so I’m doing my best to be discerning! I definitely don’t get any shots anymore, things like the flu shot, etc, don’t feel necessary by any means...

      @@EatMoveRest Vaccines are important because of a thing called herd immunity. Even if you don't feel like you need vaccines because you're "healthy," you are still helping those that can't get vaccines by decreasing the incidence of disease. I guarantee the miniscule amount of whatever chemicals are in shots are significantly less harmful than the diseases you can get from not vaccinating. In fact, if you wanted to be completely chemical free, you might as well stop breathing because the air we breathe contains way worse chemicals than any vaccine ever will.

    • @ivi122

      EatMoveRest it’s a difficult decision...welcome to parenthood lol. My son is already 15 years old and my daughter just turned 9 in July. Trust me, There will be plenty of difficult decisions to be made. Parenting is amazing but it is the hardest job because the kids depend on you and then when they’re on their own I’m sure we will still worry about them. It is the never ending job but I would not have it any other way

    • @ivi122
      @ivi122 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      bowlinggrl5 those are some great point...especially about the breathing chemicals. You’re right...we can not be 100% chemical free

    Other countries innoculate homeopathically. If considering vaccines, look into why the English royalty have not.
    Herd immunity is a myth. It's funny to me why those vaccinated freak out when there's an outbreak of something since if they were vaccinated and they had 100% effectiveness rate no one who had been would be at risk.
    Breastfeeding is such a great benefit. My daughter never lost any weight, even in the hospital, and we're still nursing a few times most days at 30 months. Great bonding tool and immunity booster when little gets any kind of sick. How the areola takes baby's needs to transform the milk composite is amazing.
    No name suggestions. I felt mine in my gut.

    I would say that you need to vaccinate. There are a lot of myths about vaccinations, but the truth is with vaccines we eradicated or kept under control with vaccines. And I know that vaccines saved my life, so I know I will vaccinate my baby as the benefits far outweigh the risks in this case.

    • @EatMoveRest
      @EatMoveRest  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      whats down true! Pregnant or not, being “Vegan” can be dangerous. It just depends how well you eat and educate yourself!

    • @bowlinggrl5
      @bowlinggrl5 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tsimitponam3393 yeah and the amount of mercury in 1 flu shot is the same as a 3 oz can of tuna...

    • @MadalinaZbranca
      @MadalinaZbranca 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, some routine childhood vaccines used to have a preservative that had mercury. Used to. And the content of mercury in a half a can of tuna was equivalent with 100 doses of vaccine that contained that specific preservative. So if you ever ate more than half a can of tuna in your life you should be scared for that, not for the vaccines.

    I didn't have kids, but when I was married I wanted easy names that couldn't be "nick named." I chose Morgan as a name because it could be a name for a girl or boy and not shortened. My sister named her daughter Morgan in my honor! I love that name to this day. Vaccines? No - I'm 66 and there are no autistic adults my age. Autism is a man made illness. The CDC lists every adjuvant in vaccines. Become familiar with every ingredient in vaccines before you even think of putting a shot in yourself of a tiny baby. The PDF is called: Vaccine Excipient & Media Summary
    Excipients Included in U.S. Vaccines, by Vaccine. Thanks for including us in your journey!

    • @JackSparrow-dk1dx

      I’m guessing that since there’s no autistic adults your age, there’s probably millions that are 3 years younger than you when the evil Dr. Salk started infecting children with his autism shots. It’s funny that every nut job latches on to vaccines because 1 flawed study found a slight correlation, but they’re totally fine with the millions of (apparently totally harmless) toxic chemicals that are pumped into the atmosphere and waterways every day.
