Virtual Lunch and Learn: Striking for Racial Justice

  • On Tuesday and Wednesday, September 8 and 9, university faculty and graduate students across the country joined in a #ScholarStrike to protest police brutality and call for racial equity and justice. Dr. Bobby Donaldson and Jennifer Melton of the Center for Civil Rights History joined Dr. Ramon Jackson, African American Heritage Coordinator, South Carolina State Department of Archives and History for a conversation on the history of strikes and collective action for racial justice in South Carolina, including the 1969 Voorhees Takeover and Charleston Hospital Workers Strike.
