I am 43 years old, miscarriage last year, 33 weeks and 5 days and due 12.21.24. High Risk doctor advise me to take baby aspirin starting week 12 to 36 weeks. Induced at 39 weeks due to my age and baby growth. Recently, hospital for dehydration and was giving 3 bags of IV and a pill to stop/slow down contraction at 32 weeks due to having contraction 9 min apart. Stayed overnight- monitored and released in the morning. Praying for a healthy and safe journey for US 🙏💞
Im so glad you made this video. Im 14 weeks with a history of high blood pressure. Doctor started me on baby aspirin at 13 weeks, i dont mind taking it especially knowing it can help prevent that from happening but ive been trying to figure out how it works🤣im nerdy and i dig into the whys and hows behind everything😂
Thank you for this video! Congrats on your pregnancy, I am also 24 weeks! 😊 I have multiple low risk factors so have been taking the aspirin since the first trimester, but was wondering, since I know it can thin your blood, if that would affect the chances of hemorrhage. This video made me feel so much better!
I was 21 years old when I had my first baby delivered at 32 wk’s. I did not know until I had the protein urine test at 31 1/2 wk’s and had to wait til I turn 32 wk’s. The baby girl was in the NICU for 13 days and I stayed for 1 week after I delivered. I was not losing the water weight and kept gaining weight. 7 years later, in my second pregnancy, baby girl was born at 33 with preeclampsia as well this time I was on baby aspirin and was considered high risk. She only stayed in the NICU for 1 day and came home 2 days later. After my two pregnancies, I have decided not to have any more children by choice.
Thank you for making this video on preclampsia! was healthy and doing crossfit all pregnancy, 37 weeks, bam severe preclampsia hit, induced, 55 hours labor into an emergency c section, postclampsia, mag drip, and on blood pressure meds for the following 6 weeks. It was so traumatic. I really wish I had been advised on aspirin! If we have a 2nd baby, I will be taking aspirin!
I am taking baby aspirin again after taking it last pregnancy. I've had three live births and three miscarriages, two of them were back to back between my second born baby and third born baby. My functional medicine doctor recommended taking baby aspirin to prevent miscarriage because it helped her keep her Pregnancy to term after she had recurrent loss. There's a lot of antidotal evidence of lots of women having success keeping their pregnancy due to taking baby aspirin. I wish that the studies would catch up quickly so so many more women can go on to have healthy pregnancies that they dream of.
I had an episode of high BP after delivery last pregnacy I was under a lot of stress and anxiety now Everytime I go in my BP is high at first. But at home my BP is so much lower it’s really frustrating 2x stressful pregnancies has really given me medical anxiety which makes my BP higher! 😢just been given aspirin due to this and previous small baby 1st pregnancy. Baby no3 after 2 stressful pregnancies I just hope all goes well!
My OB put me on it as soon as I found out due to previous loss. But I’d be on it after week 12 anyway since I’m 37. 🤞🏽 hope it does a little bit to help my baby stick !
Thank you for your video. It was explained very well. I also take low dose Aspirin (100mg) since the beginning of my pregnancy. I only have one risk factor, that is essential hypertension. Which dose would you recommend? I also want to add that I would recommend enteric-coated tablets, since I developped gastritis in my early pregnancy and maybe (even if low dosed) aspirin played one factor here.
I was recommended to take baby aspirin at week 7 for 60 days with my first born because I had a history of multiple early pregnancy loss. She’s here and healthy so I guess it helped. My doctor did say it was experimental but I was willing to try anything to avoid another miscarriage.
I developed sudden pre eclampsia with my first at 37 weeks on the dot My second I took baby aspirin throughout and didn’t get it again Now in my third pregnancy I developed hypertension right at 31 weeks! I did not take the baby aspirin for baby 3 bc doctor said she wasn’t concerned about me taking it Wish I would have went ahead and taken it bc it makes me wonder if it would have prevented it again! So far blood pressure meds are working
Second pregnancy here. Got sick with COVID at 7 weeks pregnant and my OB prescribed baby aspirin for the remainder of my pregnancy due to risk of preeclampsia and blood clots. 😣
I had my son at 28 weeks, severe IUGR. He weighed 590 grams. I didn’t develop preeclampsia but did develop hypertension during my pregnancy and was put on baby aspirin and blood pressure meds after 20 weeks. I was told to see MFM prior to conception and will be started on baby aspirin around 12 weeks with the next pregnancy. I hope that will help prevent another IUGR pregnancy🙏🏽🙏🏽
2nd pregnancy here! Also, type 1 diabetic, lupus, and over 35. Check check check. Have you heard of studies recommending 2 baby aspirin? At my preconception visit, my MFM doctor stated there were studies done mostly in the UK that suggest 2 baby aspirin to prevent preeclampsia vs. just one. Curious your thoughts!
I have lupus and was put in 150 mg aspirin, so 2 baby asprin a day. I'm also on fragmin which I think is heparin in the USA. I have antipholosophid syndrome
I’m an L&D nurse who had pre e and delivered at 34wks. Why is it recommended to start the ASA at 12ish weeks compared to starting it as soon as you find out your pregnant at approx 4-5wks?
Hi! I just watched your video in baby aspirin, and pre eclampsia and it was super helpful! I had an insufficient cervix and developed pre clampsia at week 39. Now im super scared to get pregnant again even though i want more kids...may i ask you how you were able to overcome the problems that you had in your last pregnancy and were able to be mentally okay to get pregnant again? Thank you!!! The thought of whether or not to get pregnant again crosses my mind every single day... I'm only 31 and had my baby at 30. I want more kids but I am so scared :(
Are there actually patients who have had a blood clot who they don’t start blood thinners if they get pregnant? They told me I would have to go on blood thinners.
I am still waiting to talk to a high risk dr. Would it help if I had eclampsia buy not preaclampsia? My BP was perfect till 3hr after my baby was born. Then had to be sedated to stop seizures for 3 days
From experience of reoccuring miscarriages, taking asprin early didn't really help. Wen I was given progesterone I got past 3 months. Currently 30 wks pregnant but now have low amnio fluid to deal with 🙄
The way you break down the details is so clear and helpful! I truly appreciate the knowledge you're providing. Keep up the great work! ♥

The preeclampsia foundation has so much good information on this!

I have the same issue

This is also my question. My doc put me on 2 a day (162mg per day).

4 kids first and last I had preeclampsia and took aspirin with the last 3…10 weeks pregnant with #5 super nervous about having preeclampsia again
Im surprised that baby aspirin isnt needed for someone who had blood clots. But not needing blood thinners. Interesting
I was jus told today by my doctor I need aspirin to try for a baby I have APS ❤

Can you please talk about getting pregnant soon after a c-section... (currently 3 months post partum after a c-section).
From experience of reoccuring miscarriages, taking asprin early didn't really help. Wen I was given progesterone I got past 3 months. Currently 30 wks pregnant but now have low amnio fluid to deal with 🙄
Does it matter if it’s chewable vs. enteric coated? Is one better than the other?
Can you please explain why & would aspirin help for people who've had previous low birth weight baby.
if you get preeclampsia in 1st pregnancy, is it going to present more or less severely in subsequent pregnancies?
do you know the gender of baby #2
